I really enjoyed my 5 nights at this site. We were lucky to get some good weather whilst there and enjoyed having direct access to the beach. You can walk for miles along the shore in both directions and we regularly spotted seals out on the rocks (don't forget to take your binoculars here!).

The site owners were very nice a kept themselves to themselves, although they were never far if you needed them. Only a couple of negatives, one being the washing machine didn't do it's job very well (it did look a bit old), and you couldn't walk anywhere from the site if you had a pram or small children due to it being on a busy road with no pavement. That being said you didn't need to drive far to access some nice walks.

We visited the Isle of Giha on one of the sunny days and my word it was beautiful! White sands and turquoise blue waters, wish I took my swimming costume. We met a couple who had paddled around the island and this is now on my bucket list. The hotel did some tasty food too!

Management response: Thank you Misschickabee for your review, what a shame you didn't tell us the washing machine wasn't satisfactory, I would have put your washing through our machine. We use the machines every Saturday and haven't had any trouble, it is quite possible that we had a run on them and the hot water hadn't heated up again.

Access to the local shop is possible via the beach, therefore avoiding the road.

We had a wonderful week at this very quiet site. Firstly, it's right next to the beach - step out of the van and within a few paces the beach starts. Secondly the views - looking over to Islay and Jura, especially in the evening (we were facing west). Thirdly, the birds - if you enjoy watching birds you'll see plenty. Fourthly, the site owners were very welcoming and helpful. Toilet block exceptionally clean.

Our best day involved taking our bikes and crossing over to Gigha (by ferry). Wonderful sands, sparsely inhabited.

Saddell Bay on the east coast was worth a visit and if you're a Paul McCartney fan then you'll recognise the bay where the 70s song, Mull of Kintyre, was filmed.

This is a lovely site with the most fantastic views over the beach to Islay, Giha and Jura. The owners are very friendly and accommodating without being pushy or intrusive.

Whilst the location is superb, there is a small amount of noise from the road (whilst the main A road down knityre, it is not a huge busy road), but this is not enough to spoil the site.

The new shower block is lovely (not bit, but big enough) and we never had to queue for a shower or washing up. However, on the first morning there was no hot water.

A quick word with Adrian and all was sorted, so no real complaints from us. As stated by other reviews there is a great little shop just up the road which has all you really need.

The only down side was that as our tent is quite wide, we had to pay for a double pitch which made it a little expensive, but also gave us plenty of room.

All in all, a great site that we wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Warm welcome from both Alison and Adrian, both friendly people who are there if you need them.

Pitched up our motorhome, stunning sea/beach views. Campsite was full, showers, toilets, washing up facilities spotless and clean with plenty of hotwater.

I am not a shower person but I have to say the shower room is large, with a large shower tray and plenty of elbow room, an excellent large shower head with lots and lots of hotwater. We did not experience any queing for any of the facilities.

The site has one of the largest play areas for both children and adults - the beach! We spent many hours spotting the different wildlife, seals, oyster catchers, northern dippers, eider ducks, every type of seagull, cormorants etc it was wonderful. Not to mention the many rabbits which inhabit the area.

You could see across to the islands of Gigha and Arran and the ferryport for each is approximately 5 miles away.

Within the village is a local shop which stocks everything you can imagine. The owner and his wife were very helpful. The shop is open from 6.00am - 5.30pm.

There is a local bus to Campbeltown and Tarbert with the bus stop just outside the campsite. We found the locals that we met very friendly. Infact one local kindly gave us a lift into and back from Campbeltown.

We did not notice the traffic on the main road as we were too busy watching the activities out of our motorhome window.

All in all this site was everything we wanted and we would recommend it to our friends.

We had 2 weeks . This was the best caravan trip I have ever had

I cannot think of anything that could have made it better (apart from the dolphins making an appearance)

The site is very small and neat, the facilities were spotless and never busy.

The location is outstanding. You are about 2 metres to the beach, and the views over Gigha, Islay and Jura are stunning to say the least.

There's not really any facilities for children, apart from a couple of miles of white beach.

Muasdale is very small, no pub, but a great little shop with a friendly and talkative owner.

Kintyre is wonderful, beautiful white beaches all to yourself, Golden eagles, otters, seals.

The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The problem now is to find a site as good somewhere else?

We stayed here for one night. We'd been wanting to visit this site for a couple of years and we weren't disappointed. The weather wasn't great for our visit, but still managed to get a sunset. It was great to sit in the van and be able to see the seals lying on the reef - wonderful!

We were pitched right next to the beach and it was great to lie in bed and listen to the waves.

The facilities were spotlessly clean and Alison made us feel very welcome.

The site is right on the road and there are lorries trundling past, so not completely peaceful, but just focus on the sea, waves, seals and sunsets! Lovely!
