We have just returned from Beaper Farm after a nine night stay. We have never been to the Isle of Wight before but will definitely be returning. Beaper Farm is a lovely family run site offering clean, well maintained facilities at a competitive price. The playground was a big hit with our children and the shop (which was open 10am to noon) was very handy.

The toilet block was always clean, warm and well lit. The showers were generally warm although at peak times you do run the risk of having a cold one. You cannot control the temperature of the water and at times my children found them too hot. On the plus side the shower block was always clean apart from the inevitable muddy floor at times. With only two washing up sinks there was often a queue over the bank holiday weekend. There is a well equipped laundry room with washing machines, a dryer, sinks and an iron.

The Bugle Inn at Brading offers a lovely meal and a play area for younger children. Shanklin Chine is a must.

I loved this site and was gutted when I left it too late to book a pitch this year!

Two very spacious camping fields both with a toilet block (the one in the back field was a bit dated but perfectly adequate. Plenty of toilet stalls and sinks and a plug socket for hairdryers etc)

We were able to pitch wherever we wanted and so chose the back field as this seemed more sheltered being surrounded by hedges and trees. It had a bit of a slope to it but was big enough that no one had to be on the actual slope unless they chose to be.

Showers were token operated but were fine to use and token were only 20p.

The site had a little shop which came in handy and also a laundry room which I can't comment on as we didn't use it but it looked ok.

The owners were lovely and approachable and the site itself is well located. There is a Tesco supermarket 5 minutes away which was brilliant to have (and a MacDonalds a little further up the road for which my son was delighted!). Even though it's not a particularly rural site you do feel like you're in the middle of nowhere as it's up a little track and away from the noise of the main road.

This is a basic family run site and not up to the standards of your Haven sites etc but of the two I would choose this every time. Proper camping!

Just returned from 6 nights at Beaper Farm. What a lovely site! We had an EHU pitch, which even though it was marked out, was extremely large. We were in the top field which was huge, with plenty of room for everyone, non EHU can pitch wherever you want. Our field had the children's playground & sandpit, which was a huge bonus. Apparently families with children on EHU are usually allocated this field for the playground!

We were on the EHU pitches that ran down the centre of this field, and my only criticism was that it was probably the noisiest area, as you not only had neighbours either side of you,you also had them at the back of you as the EHU pitches ran 'back to back',and when you are in a tent, as you know every noise carries! If we visited again I would ask to be on the pitches by the hedgerow.

The toilets and showers were always extremely clean, and even though there were only 6 ladies showers I never had to queue. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly and were very helpful with a few noise problems we had!

The site was very close to the lovely village of Brading, there are a few lovely pubs there The Bugle Inn is great if you want the kids amused, the usual play area / family meals type pub.The Dark Horse is a lovely villagey type pub.

The fish & chip shop in Brading (brothers) is fantastic, the best I've ever had! All in all, a fantastic location, a lovely large, open space site, with beautiful rural woodland surrounding it, great cycle paths and walking paths from the site.

A very large spacious site, with a limited number of electric hook ups. As we had asked for hook up we were allocated a pitch backing onto the play area. As I am slightly allergic to other peoples kids we asked to be moved to a quieter pitch. Our request was pleasantly accommodated and we were moved to another hook up pitch in the bottom field, well away from the play area, with nice views and never more than 5 other tents/caravans in the field with us.

There are two quite modern and clean toilet blocks on site. The shower block is attached to reception and is more dated, but always clean. There is a laundry with quick and efficient washing machines and a tumble dryer.

There is fairly constant noise from the nearby road, regular train noise and regular small aircraft from a nearby airfield. The trade off for that is that you are close to Ryde and its amenities.

A fantastic site with loads of space for the children to run around. We camped in the top field and watched red squirrels as we ate our breakfast. A nice play area in this field too.

The facilities were always clean with unlimited hot showers and hot water for washing up. Trees border the site so gave us some welcome shade - we were lucky to have fantastic hot weather. The owners were friendly and helpful. Lots of nice sandy beaches within a 15-20 minute drive of the campsite, one excellent for rockpooling.

There is a Tescos down the road which was very handy for buying milk on a daily basis. There is a shop on site, but looked like it was being done up during our stay. A basic, clean, good value site with loads of space! We will be returning

Lovely quiet site with lots of room, good clean facilities, very helpful staff, and red squirrels running around. Unlike other nearby sites tents, caravans, etc were not crammed in on top of each other, many other visitors had been returning for years for a quiet weekend, or week away.

Very highly recommended if your after a nice quiet break. They also had cheap walk on rates for car + small tent, and the shower meters had been removed. Shop was being done up when we visited.
