We arrived here on a Friday evening for out first camping trip with a 2 year old! Lovely flat ground to pitch our tent and very well kept grounds.

Plenty of space for the kids to run about and because it was flat you could keep an eye on them.

Toilet facilities were basic, but clean and constant supply of loo paper. We didn't use the shower but popped my head in and very clean.

No hook ups that I could see Open fires were an absolute bonus and great idea to supply the wood (at a small charge).

Some nice walks in the surrounding area. Great for getting to Symond Yat.

All in all had a lovely experience there, and would go back for a weekend, but because of the lack of toilet /shower facilities and no washing machine / sink for dishes, would think hard about going for more than 2 nights.

Stayed here twice now, and both enjoyable times, and the weather was super. So nice to go somewhere were you can light a fire, and they will supply wood for you at a cost of 1. 50, we took our own with us. Great if you love walking, and also cycling, Symonds Yat is only 10 min away in the car, and also the Cycle Centre, which is wonderful. Puzzle wood and Clearwell caves are the same distance.

They def could do with more toilets etc, especially in the mens, as their is only one cubicle, with a shower and toilet in it. As the campsite was quite busy at the weekend, the men were queing. They are very clean and the people running the site, are so friendly and helpful.

We will be staying again, and taking our bikes with us.

Just got back from a one-night stay as part of a motorcycle trip. Was very pleased, and the staff were extremely helpful. Fairly basic site, with one toilet and shower for men, and one of each for women, but perfect for my needs. There was also plenty of flat land for pitching a tent. Was also nice to be able to make a camp fire, which is a rare thing nowerdays!). Nice area with easy access to most of the forest including Symmonds Yat etc. It may not be suitable for a week-long stay (with kids), depending on your needs, as there isnt much for children to do, although I would certainly recommend to anyone as a stop-over, and at just 5 for the night, it was a bargain!

We camped here because of its proximity to the Forest of Dean cycle centre. Its a 10min drive to some great mountain biking trails from family cycleways to proper downhill tracks.

It is 15min walk to Colefold which is quite a nice little village. Lots of things to do in the area. The campsite was clean and we were happy with the facilities. Nice hot shower and plenty of toilet paper. We went here specifically because we were able to have a fire. Will definitely be going back before the summer is over.

Very friendly and accommodating site owners, in a peaceful location served by many attractions.

The toilets / shower block are basic but serve the purpose, and were clean, but during our few days the ladies remained locked, allowing access only to one shower / loo for 14 persons on site. Although it was clean and stocked with loo roll !

Just a word of caution if you don't own a 4 x 4 when towing a large caravan you may get stuck on the access lane to the field as its quite steep and traction is a problem, however Andy soon helped us up the hill with his pick up, otherwise I would not have been able to get up the hill which was loose gravel / mud following a downpour, the wheels were turning on the mondeo which has towed effortlessly but no grip on this occasion.

Nineteen quid a night for 4 of us in a van with ehu, a pooch and awning is great, thanks to Maureen for the welcome cuppa whilst we waited for Andy to come to our rescue. !

We choose this campsite as it wasn't too far away from where we live and also allows campfires. When we arrived, we were the first to pitch a tent and in fact, had the tent field all to ourselves until the next day.

The owners are really helpful, lovely people.

The facilities were basic but Mo and Andy told us that this was the first year that they have properly advertised their campsite so depending on popularity, will gradually build on the facilities.

The toilet block was clean and always had loo roll, which was nice! The only downside was that the gents only had one toilet and one shower; these weren't separated so if someone was in the shower and had locked the door, the toilet was inaccessible.

Its in quite a good location to explore the Forest of Dean but it is advisable to have a map as we didn't feel we could just trundle off in any direction and explore.

I would recommend going to the Ostrich pub nearby - although we didn't managed to get to it, we've heard nothing but rave reviews.

All in all, it was a pleasant stay, cut short by incessant rain and in a few years, once Andy and Mo have built on the facilities they have, it will be an excellent campsite.
