My family have been coming to this campsite for over 10 years. It is a very friendly site and both myself and husband and son have met up with the same families from all over the UK every year.

When the children were younger we used to have cricket matches. The site feels very safe and so we were able to let the children go off by themselves exploring. There are 2 play areas and a wood. The swimming pool is great for all the family with a lifeguard in attendance every day.

There is a family room with entertainment for the children every evening, with a disco for teens till 12 midnight. There is an arcade and a TV room and an adults only bar. The cafe and take-away is reasonably priced as is the well stocked shop.

There is a large Sainsbury's and Morrisons supermarket less than 10 minutes drive away. The camping pitches we have had have always been big and you never feel you are top of anyone.

Plenty of toilets and lovely hot showers and there is a brand new block down on the bottom field. Out of the camp less than a 10 minute drive will take you to the village of Stoke Gabriel where every evening you will find hoards of families 'crabbing' in the creek.

A crab line for 99p and a bit of bacon on the end and the kids love it, we were often there for a couple of hours or until it got dark. 15 minutes drive the other way and you'll be at Broadsands Beach. A lovely safe sandy beach with a cafe, shop and toilets.

I would rate this site 10/10 for its facilities on the site itself and also for the position and easy access to Torbay.

Well run campsite with friendly staff, quick and efficient check in.

When we visited it was very busy and tents seemed quite close together, this eased a little after a weekend as a few people had gone home. Facilities a bit dated but adequate.

Lovely outdoor swimming pool, we were lucky with the weather so spent a fair bit of time round there. Hayloft reasonable and food ok, kids entertainment room got very busy on an evening but kids loved it.

Plenty of places round and about to visit, we would def use this site again but would try and get a more level pitch - some are very sloping. All in all a good site though, would recommend.

We were not impressed with the site at all.

Toilet and shower facilities were excellent but insufficient for the number of people on site. There were significant queues every morning.

Location is good. Lots to do nearby.

Very sloping site! Most of the flat pitches were for caravans and almost all tent pitches had a slope and for all but a few the slope was ridiculous

Very noisy! The clubhouse blared music out until late at night so getting to sleep was impossible. Then when the music stopped, never before midnight, everyone made their way back to their tents, very noisily.

Some nights there were teenagers hanging around in the pitch dark playground until late, right next to our tent.

The craft barn seemed appealing on paper, until we realised that paper was virtually all that was included. Anything else was at a price, which was not mentioned on the website before booking.

The road is not pleasant. Narrow and winding. On Saturday mornings especially it was very busy. We saw several poor people having to reverse their caravans back to a towing place because others refused to go back.

Myself and my partner stayed at this site for the weekend in July. I normally always go back to my favourite site in north Devon so this was a change and a nice one at that.

When I booked over the phone the lady was very helpful and swift and the booking was complete in no time. When we arrived at the site our check in details and stickers etc were waiting for us and the receptionist said to park out the front and we would be taken to our pitch.

We were taken to our pitch from a helpful man on a golf buggy and showed were to pitch. It was a very roomy electric pitch and we had no problem with our six man tent and car.

The toilet block in the first camping/caravan area is an older building but kept in very good nick. A lot cleaner than many modern ones I have come across. Although after a little walk around the site I found what looked like a brand new block with lovely new showers. Of course I used these for the rest of the week but that in no way says that the older block isn't up to standards. It is but I wanted a bit of luxury in my life.

The Hayloft bar has a great atmosphere and the pool looked lovely although the weather didn't play ball so we never ventured for a dip. The shop was well stocked and all the staff were very friendly.

All in all this is a lovely site which sits on the right side of having good facilities but not to commercial. 10/10 Would visit again.

I have been coming to Whitehills since I was 8 years old with my parents, now I am bringing my own family who all love the campsite, you get to meet the same old faces every year which we look forward to, plus new faces too, the site has a very good shop on site that is always fully stocked with everything you would need from food to camping equipment to your daily paper.

A cafe, wash room, launderette, tv room adults bar and family room. The playground is fantastic for the kids and very safe, the people who work their are really kind and pleasant,

it is situated in the rolling hills of Devon about 10 mins in the car from the coast, just before a lovely village called stoke Gabrielle, very quite and well maintained campsite.

The toilet and shower blocks are cleaned about 4 or 5 times a day.

The family entertainment is without doubt the best this country could possibly offer, john and bridget of the ricochet road show do a fantastic job for the whole family from bingo to kids games, action dances, then they also play family games like Mr and Mrs, play your cards right, race night. P

lus loads of other great ways to keep the whole family entertained. This is one of the main reasons we come back every year due to the beautiful site and the fantastic entertainment. Without doubt the best campsite we have ever visited.

The only setback is disabled access to the family room, their is a very nice out door terrace with ramp going up to the second floor but in the actual family room their is still steps going into and onto the dance floor, as we have a disabled child who loves to join in the fun this can get very difficult to get her down there, even for pushchairs it struggles in that respect, but other than that this is a wonderful campsite for the whole family,

Just returned from a 2 week stay here- a real gem.

Plenty of things to do, especially for the children- 2 play parks, and an adventure play area, woodland walks, letter boxing, outdoor pool, games room, even a craft room where you can paint pottery or just paint/colour pictures.

Showers were lovely and hot, and plenty of them, one block recently updated, which included a family bathroom and a family shower room, and the other 2, a little dated but certainly fine for use.

Good laundry room, with plenty of washing machines and driers, generally busier in the mornings but fine after lunch time.

Washing up areas in the male or female shower blocks in the main camping field, wasn't a massive issue, as by new shower block they were outside. Would have been easier if all the washing up areas were outside, but on days when its raining, it was ideal.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, always stopped for a chat.

Site kept very clean. Maintenance guys always about and making sure everything was at it's best.

Very quiet site at night time, no issues with noisy neighbours, or from the hayloft bar area. Security guy at night time if any issues, but guess he must be bored as never any need for anyone to trouble him!

Pitches are really big, very impressed and plenty of room around each pitch, so felt we were not invading someone elses pitch.

We would definitely go back to this site again, had a brilliant time.
