Just arrived home after a wonderful bank holiday weekend at Tan Y Llan. The owners can not do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble.

The toilets are always clean and stocked up with loo roll etc. James, the owner will dig out a fire pit next to your tent and you can purchase a sack of wood for a real fire.

It was Easter when we were there and there was a tug of war and egg and spoon race organised for the children, also on the Easter Sunday they came round with Easter eggs for all the children. There was a BBQ organised where you could take your meat along to be cooked and sit round together.

There is also a football pitch which was a big hit with my son and husband!

The nearest beach, shop and pub are just a short walk away.

We visited this site recently with our 2 girls aged 4 and 6 for our Summer Holiday. We had an excellent holiday! The site is well laid out, has plenty of room for the kids to play (football field, 2 swings and a few little tikes type houses), friendly, helpful owners and a beautiful view of the sea and mountains.

The shower/toilet blocks were kept clean, and the showers all have plenty of space. We never had to wait even though the site seemed fairly full. Showers operate with tokens (50p), and give you plenty of time (unless you want to shave your head too, then you need another token!).

The local shop 3 mins walk away is tiny, but well stocked. Local beach gorgeous 5 mins drive, free parking, small beach hut type shop. Local pub 5 mins walk, park, great food. Within 20 mins drive there are countless beaches, all offering something slightly different.

Almost every night we had a campfire. Pit dug by James, and firewood available on site. Sitting out after dark enjoying a campfire with friends put the icing on the cake of this holiday.

We stayed here for 4 nights with friends, my sister, her husband and 13yr old twin daughters (who suffer with slight c.Palsy), it was their first experience at camping. We chose this site as the reviews were quite good and catered mainly for the children.

Even though we never saw a sports day/bbq, even hardly the owners during our stay. Upon arriving first appearance was 'were not staying here' it was like a farmyard, there was nobody to greet us and show us to our pitches so having a walk around eventually came upon James the owner who was providing temporary EHU (which we paid extra for)to our pitches which ended up being in the dog field as all other fields were full with caravans / tents. This wasn't a problem as we had 2 dogs with us, even though the grass needed cutting.

We found the toilet/shower block amenities, and soon realised these were communal which when you have young female 13yr olds with you is a bit much. The new toilet block needed finishing off, no hand drying facilities, the old block renovating, also you need tokens for the showers and take your own loo roll as they kept running out.

The good side of it was the pub (great food)post office were two mins walk away, the beach about a 20 min walk not very good access for the disabled. This site has got loads of potential and the views to die for.

Just returned from 4 nights at Tan Y Llan site. This is a great site especially if you have kids. Plenty of space and James & Delyth are very welcoming hosts. Amenities are adequate and the new shower/toilet block is clean and pleasant. Combined with absolutely glorious weather, Tan Y Llan is an excellent base from which to explore Abersoch and surrounding areas. There is a general store/post office/pub within easy walking distance and if you enjoy a campfire, James delivers the wood. Will definitely be back again soon.

We booked in here for the first night of a 5-day tour round North Wales so we knew we definitely had somewhere to aim for on the first night. It's the closest campsite in Tudweiliog to the Lion Hotel, which is convenient!

The lady on the site was very helpful and friendly, chatting for a while on our arrival. Although there were other caravans on site I think we virtually had the place to ourselves - picked a nice, quiet week!

The views from the site were great. Snowdonia in one direction and the sea on the opposite direction. It's only a short walk to the sea and beach but, as mentioned, the pub was a priority after the long drive.

My only slight criticism is the road through the campsite. A little rough to drive on, but probably not an issue most of the time. The toilet facilities were nice and clean. It's an individual enclosed room with your own loo and wash basin etc.

The weather was great. A bit windy, but as we were in a van it wasn't a problem. The Lion Hotel does nice food and the staff are friendly, but as we had our dog we had to sit in the corridor area near the front, which was a bit chilly at times. Apart from that, it's a nice place for good ales and good food.

Overall I would recommend a visit to Tan Llan. Good price, good location, what more do you need?

We only stopped here one night just before Easter. This was only because of the weather!

The site has a small toilet \ shower block, which had just been repainted, all the amenities work well and were kept clean.

The pot washing sinks were in the open, so we kept this to a minimum, basically due to the weather. There is a beautiful beach about 15 minutes walk from the site. The area is good to get to Abersoch, Pwllheli etc.

When we arrived, we used the sat nav, which tells you to turn right to Twdweiiog when you are nearly there, you need to stay on the same road and turn left just around the corner and you are there.

When we arrived, James showed us to the main field, which was so windy, it would have blown the trailer and tent away, so, instead he sorted us out in a small corner at the side of their house, sheltered by walls on 2 sides and a caravan on the other. He hooked up an extra long lead, so that we had power. Unfortunately we were unable to put the front awning of our trailer tent up as the ground was boggy, so we got an awful draught through the door (Triango Ocean) and we forgot the heater.

Jame and Delyth said if we needed anything, just give them a shout, they offered us extra sleeping bags if we were cold. They were the best site owners I have ever met and so helpful.
