Not only was the weather great but so was the campsite.

Easy to find using their websites directions you are directed up a long gravel drive. It had newly laid gravel which some caravans found difficult to get over, but the working farm owners were there to lend a hand when necessary.

At the end of the drive (over a mile long uphill) was the farmhouse and stables. Once through the stables you come across 3 fields. One of the owners will come out and introduce themselves to you at this point and tell you roughly where to pitch.

We were given the bottom field which was completely empty. Result. We set up right down by the fence which overlooked a lovely valley and the Mortimer Forest.

There was a big tree with a swing which the kids loved and an incredibly friendly working sheepdog that came and checked us out.

Back up next to the stables was the wash-block. 2 toilets and a shower block which were very tidy.

The cockerel at 06:30 was a bit annoying but wasn't a massive problem. I was even allowed to charge my mobile in the owners house : )

Would definitely go again!

We've just spent a fantastic Easter weekend at Monstay Farm. The site is located just a few miles outside Ludlow, but feels miles from anywhere. This is partly due to access being up a farm track which is about 1/2 mile long.

The track was in pretty poor condition when we drove up and our trailer was rattling around a bit! The owners advised us that it was due for re-surfacing the week before, but the contractors had delayed! Never mind, we made it and had a great time!

We used the tracks through the woods nearby on our bikes and collected firewood, so that we could take advantage of the fire-pit.

The facilities consist of two toilets and a shower. They were kept very clean, but were fairly basic. The shower was nice and hot and was included in the price of the site, so no collecting of 20ps! The owners are applying for permission to convert some of their barn into improved facilities.

The best thing about this site was that even on a busy weekend, there was loads of space to spread out and it never felt cramped.

Just returned from two nights at this delightful site just a few minutes drive from Ludlow. The directions on their website as to how to find them were absolutely spot on, my only problem on arrival was not being sure if I was meant to open the gate into the field of cows and drive on up the track - I was! Angela could not have been more welcoming and explained all about the facilities and about the site as a whole.

As others have said at the moment the facilities are quite limited - they are currently only a small site although hoping to expand a little for next year, to that end one of their plans for the winter months is to fit a toilet & shower block to supplement what is already there.

Currently there is just the one shower and two toilets - at busy times they additionally offer the use of the shower/toilet in the farmhouse. The toilets could be quite drafty in cold weather, but the shower room is lovely and snug and the use of a nice bright shaving light to light the whole cubicle is an excellent idea. The shower itself is electric, and lovely and hot, with decent pressure and at the moment is also free to use.

There are three separate fields which are currently used for camping, we were in the middle one which had EHU's along one side - the field was about as level as you could wish for - and the lush grass made for a comfy under-tent experience! Apparently they were 'moderately busy' this weekend - we wouldn't have known it though - everyone was nice and spread out and it wasn't at all cramped.

Angela & Les are campers themselves so know what works, and what doesn't, on a site, and this really shines through. We will certainly be returning!

tayed here with my girlfriend for one night this weekend (bank holiday). It cost 4 per person per night for a tent which I thought was very reasonable.

The views of the hills towards Wales on one side and Mortimer Forest on the other, acres and acres of huge trees, the kind you'd expect to see in America. We went walking there and found lots of firewood for our camp fire.

The site has lots of wildlife such as a few horses, sheep and the dogs. Very spacious, I saw two big open fields. Lots of space to pitch up.

Owners very helpful, a nice family. I hired a fire bowl and bought some fire logs, their son even helped me start the fire. Went well out of their way to help me start the fire as it was quite windy so I was incapable of starting the fire myself!

Facilities: There's a shower and 2 toilets. I found them to be satisfactory. There's also the option to use the toilet and shower in the farmhouse if the others are busy. Large open fields for your kids to play and lots of walks you can go on especially in the forest.

About a 5-10 minute drive into Ludlow which is a great little town. I bought BBQ meat (including spiced, herbed and cider apple sausages) from a butchers called 'Francis' in Market Square. Highly recommended and cheap. The night BBQ and camp fire was superb with a few beers.

Had a great time and will return again.

Excellent location = very close to Ludlow which is a must for anyone who hasn't visited the town - great place for food whether dining out or just for grabbing supplies not to mention it's history and architecture.

We found the site perfect for what we wanted - peaceful yet with plenty of room for the kids to bike ride. The views are spectacular and the footpaths up into the hill forest are great for either working up an appetite or walking dinner off.

Highly recommended - yes the shower and toilet facilities could maybe do with some attention but it was a minor detail to us.

Lovely campsite on a working farm. Pretty basic 1 shower and 2 toilets but for the money it was well worth it as it was set in a beautiful surroundings in a very peaceful location. The choice of 2 fields in and very relaxed atmosphere with pitch pretty much where you like. Dog friendly and campfires which was a definite plus for us. Lovely walk to the beautiful historic town of Ludlow on the river. Will definitely visit again.
