Spent the Easter weekend at this and had a great time.

Site is spotless and very well maintained. Toilet block was very clean and warm with loads of hot water. We were up the back of the site so never heard any traffic noise and had great views of the hills. Our kids spent the weekend playing around on the tree swing and climbing the hill.

Had take aways from the local village which was good and there is a pizza hut and burger king 5 mins away.

The wardens and staff were very friendly and even came round the caravans with Easter eggs on the Sunday morning.

All in all this is great site, maybe the best we have been on and we will definitely be going back to this site this season.

As others have mentioned previously, we'd travelled from the highlands via the A9 south en-route for home in Lincoln and was blown away when we saw the Wallace monument on our way to the campsite, it's really close by and when entering Witches Craig we were impressed by how colourful and charming all the flowers everywhere made it, they're everywhere and very pretty.

Immediately we thought wow, well done us for picking this site, however, it was well done Witches Craig for a job well done. First impressions, so far so good.

On entering the site reception, my wife Paula and I were impressed by how friendly and exceptionally helpful the lady there was towards her. She was shown where our pitch was, where all the facilities were, she explained that the barrier was automatic from 08:00 - 20:00 after which you had a code to get in, there was a code for the toilet block too, but these were all highlighted on the form for us, we were immediately made to feel very welcome, the lady also spotted that I had our Shih Tzu Sam, on his lead outside the reception so she explained where the dog walking area was too. We came away with a fistful of leaflets with various areas to visit in the local area, thinking, boy she was very nice, I like this place already, and this was true of our whole stay, albeit only the one night, and yes, like many others before us, we'd wished it could have been more because the site was well laid out, friendly and charming. It's very close to Stirling and Falkirk, and in-between Glasgow and Edinburgh, so you're spoilt for places you can visit.

The site caters for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, there is a children's park with swings, slides etc which seemed to get used quite a lot, although we never heard any noise. The tent area is right at the back of the site on a very large lush, green, very well maintained grassy area, we did have to walk across this area to get to the dog walking woods, but the tents had been placed so as to leave a clear way through. The dog walking areas were just the job for walking our dog, you could walk through woods or take a right turn on entering and walk along a long gentle slope across fields with sheep in so please keep dogs on their leads.

It seemed to cater very well for all the various types of campers, with water points almost everywhere.

Our lovely neighbours had travelled from Peterhead and stayed here 10 days and they'd absolutely loved Witches Craig too, they'd been to see the Edinburgh Tattoo the day we'd arrived and said 'hope we didn't wake you last night when we got back', we didn't hear a thing, they had a wonderful time and they'd travelled by train into Edinburgh whereas there relations had taken a car and it'd cost 36 for them to park and it'd only cost our neighbours 18 return on the train.

If I was to have any negatives about Witches Craig, it was probably that the toilet block was slightly dated but it was immaculately clean and tidy and it was getting plenty of use almost constantly. The only other negitive was that the chemical toilet area was quite smelly, but I put that down to inconsiderate campers who'd not cleaned up after themselves, So really, our overall thoughts of Witches Craig were 'yes, we'd definitely recommend it and yes, we'd definitely come back', well done all the staff there, we loved it, thank you for making our stay there a pleasurable one.

By the way 8. 50 for adults, can't remember how much for kids to go around the Wallace monument and if you like real ale, check out nearby 'Bridge of Allan', because there is a micro brewery that brews its own beers and has a bar where you can taste beers and sit down in it's olde worlde atmosphere and its even dog friendly, big bonus! You can buy a presentation pack of 3 beers named after famous battles in Scotland for just over 8 too, very nice for prezzies. There are hundreds to choose from. Well worth a visit.

One of the best camp sites I have ever been to! Extremely clean toilet / shower block, grass is well maintained and was not waterlogged even after heavy rain. Owners so friendly and helpful.

This place has such a nice ambience and such a beautiful location you won't be disappointed.

Location also great for nearby Stirling and its many shops, the Wallace Monument 5mins away and best of all the Trossachs national park and all of its hill walks and lochs only a short drive.

My wife & I - both 65++ - stayed here for 1 night. We chose the site at random for 2 reasons.

1. It was a convenient stop between Gretna Green and Inverness.

2. As it was Friday 13th we could not resist the name.

Purely by chance we stumbled on one of the best sites we have ever stayed at. We had a hardstanding pitch with ehu and were delighted to find it roped off - no trespassers.

The whole site is superbly maintained and the facilities are clean, warm and user friendly. For obvious reasons we did not use the play park but the wonderful sound of children really enjoying themselves is testimony enough.

As we did not want to have the hassle of parking in Stirling, we caught the local bus (Stop is 5 mins walk and service frequent).

After wandering round the town we had a delightful meal in the on ly pub convenient to the centre - City Walls - superb service, food & price.

A taxi back (7) completed a lovely afternoon/evening. We will definitely be booking a longer stay at this park.

Congratulations to the owners - you have a little gem.

Just back from a week at the witches Craig. We had a great time.

We went for a weekend before and found the pitches won us over. The previous weekend we were at a hard standing pitch and our awning was flooded for 2 days! So we were really happy when it rained at the witches Craig and no flooding so I would say these are really good quality pitches well maintained as well. I also liked the fact that most touring pitches are roped off so there is no encroachment from other users.

The dog walk is through a wee Forrest and comes out at the graveyard for logie kirk and then circles along the main road. Also if you use the road at logie kirk you will find a path up the hill overlooking the site I think it's the witches crag.

The staff are most accommodating kind and friendly. Lots of flowers around too! The toilets were a wee bit on the small side but you can live with that because these are very clean and well maintained. The 4 showers are located in the loos which has a downside and I am sure you can guess what that is! The play park was fantastic for my 5 year old and we could see her from the caravan. Also lots of space to ride her bike too. Morrisons is down the road next to a burger king and pizza hut. The staff are lovely there too! There is a farm shop and bothy 2 mins away and has an extensive supply of meat, veg, fruit and ready meals. We regretted going here on our second last day as we would have liked to stock up.

On the whole we love this site and the situation with plenty to do in the area including a free brewery tour and tasting in bridge of allan! We will stay here again and again. Well done to witches Craig for a truely 5star site!

Great wee site which is well run by the family owners. Toilets and other facilities cannot be faulted. There is free Internet ( other sites take note! ) and you get a great TV picture.

The site caters mainly for tourers ( mainly hard standings) and tents, there are a few statics. You will be impressed by the site and the fantastic location looking onto the Dumyat hills and the Wallace Monument.

The local Morrisons is a five minute drive away. There are no pubs or restaurants within walking distance so a short drive is always required. Stirling is a great central location to base yourself to get to lots of locations.

Give this site a try you will be impressed. The only slight drawback is the main road which can be a bit noisy. A small price to pay for a otherwise excellent site.
