A quiet, family oriented campsite, Upton Manor Farm was a very relaxing place to stay. We camped with another family, we both had big tents and the pitches were a little snug. However if we had booked earlier we could have been allocated some of the larger pitches around the edge of the field.

The toilets and shower blocks were spotlessly clean and easy to use as a family.

The campsite was extremely quiet at night, with most lights out by eleven. The proximity of other campers meant that if you did stay up late you were at risk of disturbing them.

The beach was within easy walking distance as was Brixham harbour. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely visit again.

We received a very warm & helpful welcome for the managers.

A great site, with very clean & modern facilities Having a shop to use so close by is a real bonus, although the local shops are a nice walk away.

A mobile pizza cooker came on site one evening, making cooked to order pizzas which was fantastic, and another lovely van, also providing breakfast as well as a curry in the evening which was lovely & good value for money.

The pitches are a very good size, we decided to stay another night which again was not a problem & the mangers dealt with this easily. The campsite is in a great location & easy walking distance to Brixham.

My only negative about this site, as that the managers go off site to go home, so there is nobody on site. On our final night the site was very busy, some people with children had no regard to other people on site who wished to go to sleep or relax, allowing children to run screaming around the site past 11pm at night, this is not the campsites fault however it would of been better if there had been somebody on site to report this to at the time.

Really nice site, lovely owners, good facilities we would definitely stop there again, in fact we are going to next year.

You can easily walk into Brixham from the site, the Harbour is very nice. We went to Torquay from Brixham on one of the local ferry's, £2 return so great value. We only used the car once all week everything is easily accessible. Good Spa shop on the estate and good shop on next doors site which you can use.

This is a well located and well managed site.

Echoing other reviewer's comments:

Good points:

Everything is well maintained and in sufficient quantity. EG. free Hot Showers, toilets and washing up facilities.

EHU pitch was just about big enough to accommodate our Outwell Montana Lake family sized tunnel tent and car.

Pitches are numbered and allocated so everybody is spread out for a spacious feel to the site.

Disappointing points:

I expected a family oriented campsite to have something for children to play on. There is no play equipment on site and it's a fair walk to find some and when we did find some in St Mary's Park it wasn't very interesting to the children.

If you don't have an EHU you might be sorry. The toilets and showers are all at one end of the site, the same end as the EHU pitches. The non EHU pitches are quite a way from any toilets/showers and their pitches are nowhere near as level.

Some might find the last mile up the road to the campsite a bit narrow with parked cars everywhere. We didn't have any trouble but some did.

Bad points:

None, nothing could be described as bad here.

Just spent 8 nights at this lovely site. Booking in at reception was very quick and the staff were very friendly and helpful giving us lots of brochures of things to do and maps of the area and also giving us bus timetables from the end of the site into Brixham. The pitches were very spacious especially the hedge pitches. The shower and toilet facilities were spotlessly clean and the grass was well cut. The site has a very peaceful relaxed feel about it and the staff kept everything in order even though you never saw them doing it.

Within a good 5 minutes walk from the site you are on the coastal paths with some of the most stunning views imaginable. The walk into Brixham takes about 15 minutes but coming back is quite hard as this is uphill through a residential area but we found it fine and it took us about 30 minutes back but there is a bus outside the site every half an hour up to 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

Brixham itself is a lovely old fishing town with plenty of pubs and eating places. The ferry runs every 45 mins across to Torquay for £2 return which is worth doing as Torquay is also a lovely town.

To sum up - The site is in an excellent location and although we had the best week of weather that we are probably likely to get which obviously enhanced my view I would thoroughly recommend this site and we will definitely be back and hopefully on a regular basis.

We wanted to go to Devon as the weather was looking good so we researched UKCampsite.co.uk for Paignton and found this little gem in Brixham. They also had an offer on for a week which was £50 including electric so we booked in for a week with a view that if it was not what we wanted we could always move. We stayed all week and the site is highly recommended.

We arrived at 4pm and we were on pitch 3 which was a superior pitch and across from the amenities.

Good Points

Good facilities - never had to wait for a shower

Large pitches - superior only

No dogs allowed which meant no dog mess where you least expect it (sorry dog owners and lovers)

Laundry room with ironing board

The owners/managers were very friendly

Lots of local information provided on arrival

Close to Brixham

Very sunny pitch

Bad Points

The pitches are on grass which means grass cuttings get everywhere.

Yes, this is at the top of a steep hill. We took bicycles with us so great getting down into Brixham which took about 2 minutes. Getting back was longer and I couldn't manage to get all the way up the hill without getting off, but this did not spoil our holiday, it just became a challenge.

Brixham is a very pretty place with some fantastic restaurants. We checked through trip advisor before eating and I would rate the following restaurants:

Beamers - 5 star (fish platter and fillet steaks are excellent)

Bistro 46 - 4 stars - very tasty food)

Old Market House - 4 stars - mussels were good.

Balti Nights - 5 star - especially jalfrezi

David Walker - fish merchant (on the harbour) 5 stars. We got a fresh lobster and some frozen king prawns which were delicious. We went back again later in the week and got some mussels, scallops and more prawns. Very very good. The owner (David Walker) was just a delight to deal with. If you are not squeamish and you are happy to cook a fresh lobster I can highly recommend David Walker's. You go to the harbour and there is an alleyway going left down the side of the railings. David Walker is just down on the right. Open until 3pm.

We cycled to Paignton and to Torquay. We got the £1 ferry back from Torquay and they also took the bikes for no extra cost. The ferry takes 30 minutes and it is worth a trip to Torquay. We had beautiful weather and had a great time. Can't wait to go back.
