May 2005 This is our second visit to the campsite after the previous year trip to Thorpe Park & Chessington (using the campsite as a stop over).
The staff are always friendly and accommodating, the site is beautiful and the toilet/shower blocks are the cleanest we have ever visited. For £5 per person per night for tents, we cant argue for the price and the regulars are always friendly and helpful to occasional visitors.
I would definitely consider visiting here for a longer weekend or week and go sit by the green and lake, visit the nearby shops and villages.
A definate must for anyone considering doing the two theme parks in a weekend!

July 2005 This is a great campsite for families, the play park is ideal and everything is close by. The location is perfect, its close to all the theme parks Legland, chessington & thorpe park also windsor, and right on the river thames. Its a fenced off site so no worries about the kids escaping and cars are only allowed for loading and unloading.
The people that run it appear live on site in their tent and we just so easy going. Prices were £5 per adult and £2.50 for over 6's.
The toilets were always clean, with free hot water, showers were also free and very clean. There was a wash room with free hot water for washing up and a small charge to use washing m/c and driers.
I would highly rate this site for families and couples alike. It's laid back and down-to-earth which may not suit some, but for those theres the caravaning and camping club members sitejust across the river.

June 2005 Just got back from visit. The showers are good plenty of room would be excellent if cleaner.
The aeroplanes are noisey when overhead however not as frequent as I expected them to be so had very good nights sleep.
You are not allowed to keep your car on site. Not a problem you can unpack then park your car it is free parking.
The location by the river is lovely near by pubs and shops. The lock on the river is worth a visit as it is kept to a very high standard. If you are taking small children take some bread so you can feed the ducks.
Locatation very good for Chessington world of adventure, Hampton court, Thorpepark, Thorpeski ect. Not to far away from the M25 (no motorway noise).
I went to Sainsburys in town and it cost me 20p to park for 3 hours I can not remember when I last paid only 20p for 3 hours parking. When I visited Hampton court the parking outside of the court was free. Did not visit london on this occassion as I ran out of time. I will be visiting this site again.
I would like to end by informing any would be visitors that one of my childrens friends who had joined us for this trip lost her purse in the toliet block. It had seventynine pound in it. I told her to say goodbye to the money and purse. How wrong I was, as that evening A kind person approached us to ask if we had lost anything there it was the purse and all the money I was so pleased there are good honest people around. I am pleased to say that the majority of honest people I have met have always been on my camping trips. So go relax and enjoy.

September 2003 A really friendly site, we were made more than welcome on our arrival. So many people were ready to help us get set up and ready to enjoy our stay. I would recommend this site to anyone wanting to camp near Stains and the River Thames. There is also a very nice and friendly pub in walking distance if you wish not to cook. One thing I must say is that the power supply is 6 amp max not the usual 16 amp. Therefore you will need a kettle for the gas cooker. Other than that no faults could be found with this very friendly site.

Since 1994- To present day Well I've been a member since 1994, and I believe the campsite is one of the best around. I have been to many, and this one has impressed the most. The toilets are always clean ( they have a team of highly skilled professionals in to clean them). There is a play area for smaller children, but there are a gang of teenagers around, they are no trouble, very helpful, I was pleasantly surprised. There are parties on many weekends and on Bank Holiday weekends. The campsite is situated 15 minutes walk away from Stains, and the river Thames is just outside the gate.

August 2003 I visited the campsite 8 years ago and have been a member ever since. My family and I received a permanant pitch our second year.
We consider it to be a great breakaway at the end of a long hard week and in school holidays it's an ideal place for the kids to play around, other wise they would just be bored at home getting no exercise.
There's a great playarea for children around the ages of 3-11. For teenagers there's a big field that backs on to the campsite where there's a bigger park. It also faces the River Thames and has beautiful scenery. There's also a 15 min walk down the river to a village shop where it supplies your every need, where you will also find an hourly bus that runs you in to the town center.
The regulars are friendly and polite and the wardens are very organised. There's a group of teenagers who are very polite and helpful. I personally feel they keep the campsite alive. They are no trouble and keep the noise at a reasonable level. There are also a younger group of children who are always keen to make new friends with newcomers.
The campsite itself is very clean and the toilet block is always clean. There are great washing up facilities and washing machines with tumble dryers are great.
On certain weekends they have themed parties where there's a kids fancy dress and an adults fancy dress which are great because everyone joins in. There is also a childrens weekend and a August Bank Holiday fair.
