The facilities. Dire need of upgrading, very dated, I don't like showering with wood lice, the windows are rotton. This is an old portacabin been made up into facilities but needs a major overhaul.

The access to the beach. Not good, self made access watch out for the kids, elderly, needs a proper set of steps put in.

The road noise. You wont find a campsite closer to a main road than here. Needs a proper fence.

Now to the good bits

Site owners are very helpful and a nice couple

The views across to the islands of Gigha and Jura are awesome on a nice day

You will see seals on the rocks here and at high tide they even sneak up to the beach edge to stick a head out. Brillant

Laundrette and games room is across the road

Halfway between Tarbert and Campbeltown

So the big question is would we return: If the facilities were improved probably.

Just come back from a week in our caravan here, what a lovely little site, beautiful views, great owners, peaceful and relaxing and lots of wildlife to watch. It was a long trek from Wiltshire in one day but definitely worth it. The seals followed us every evening on our walk with the dog keeping an eye on us, they were gorgeous . We certainly recharged the batteries here and will make the long trek north again as soon as I can book it off work!

Just returned from a weeks stay at Muasdale. Adrian and Alison (owners) were very friendly and we were shown our seaside pitch. Only about 10 pitches are directly next to the sea.

The toilet block is small and basic but spotlessly clean and a lot of effort has been put into recycling etc and the adjacent road was no problem for us.

We took a lot of provisions with us however the local shop just a few minutes walk away was a treasure trove of bits and pieces inc fresh and frozen meat, milk eggs etc etc and beer.

The weather was excellent all week and this just added to our enjoyment of this peaceful site although a few midges did appear.

This is a great site for touring the area including the islands which are so easy to reach by ferry and very reasonable costs.

There are a couple of hotels about 4 miles south which serve food and drinks, we ate at the Argyll Hotel which was excellent.

The site does what it says on the label, peaceful with great views.

We have only just returned from this lovely site, and I wish we were still there! It is in the most perfect location, if you`re in a tourer or tent it`s not possible to be any nearer to the beach and sea.

The position of this site was the main attraction for us as each touring pitch faces the sea and the isle of Islay. During our stay we encountered the most stunning sun sets every evening.

It was a Jem Just watching the seals & various seabirds that vist the area.

Lovey Beach but spoilt by Dogs XXXX On beach.

Very tiring drive to the site from our home as it was along Journey, But well worth it on arrival.

The village shop was very good has all the essentials but only accepts cash.

Toilet block very basic but kept spick & span only critisim was having to wash the insets out of the shower tray before showering, but thats camping for you.

Very peaceful & relaxing best stress busting site we have been on in 20 years of caravanning.

Best small caravan site ever. Well done Adrian & Alison Clements site owners.

What can I say - well lots really.

We chose the site specifically because of it's remote location to provide a quiet, peaceful holiday and we were not disappointed. The journey there was full of wonderful scenery which was surpassed on arrival with the spectacular views on offer from the site to the isles of Cara, Gigha, Islay and Jura and we even had a glimpse of Ireland.

Yes, The toilet block is slightly dated but the facilities were more than adequate for our needs and spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water and security codes to access. We have experienced much worse facilities in newer toilet blocks on bigger sites Alison ensures the toilets are cleaned on a daily basis.

Play area - there is a games room accross the road (which we didn't find too busy or noisy) and the kids had a couple of games of table tennis but spent most of their time in natures playground on the beautiful beach 10ft from our pitch which was child friendly and clean with a safe bathing and boating area and we also launched our small inflatable boat and motored out to the reef to visit the seals who didn't seem to mind our inquisitiveness.

We had a couple of campfires on the beach and the boys both aged 11 totally enjoyed themselves crab fishing and snorkelling.

There is a small, well stocked shop in the village and Ian (the owner) is very friendly and informative. Otherwise Campbelltown is 15 miles away for shopping. We ate out at the Argyll Hotel with views from the conservatory making it extra special.

The sites proprietors Alison and Adrian were very friendly and informative and couldn't have done more to make our visit special. They even helped us to erect our awning on our windy first night. They kept us abreast of all the wildlife activities including visits by the dolphins and whales and educated the boys on the surrounding birdlife. They even found time to sit down and have a friendly chat and cup of coffee. They are proud of their little site and rightly so.

The villagers themselves stopped to have a chat when passing and we were welcomed by all. We had our dog Millie with us and she roamed the beach happily - as long as we were responsible for her Alison and Adrian didn't seem to mind.

We visited Gigha and the islanders welcomed us - even asking if we would consider moving there! On Gigha we visited Achamore Gardens which were stunning as is all the scenery around the site, we had a lovely lunch in the Boathouse on Gigha.

Now I leave the best to last - the sunsets! We were treated to a different one every night and can't think of anywhere in the world where we have seen better.

Muasdale was our little bit of paradise and I shouldn't really have told you all this because I wanted to keep it my secret! Enjoy.

What a great place to get away from it all. The views from the site are fantastic, right next to the ocean looking out over to Isla. I enjoyed photographing the seals sitting on the rocks just off the bay.

The beach is excellent, and the sea crystal clear - plenty of 'frisbee' space. And the table-tennis inside was good for the summer weather we had this year.

Shower block/toilets kept immaculately clean, unusual for a beach front campsite, and shop (less than 5 mins walk along beach) has most supplies, including gas.

Friendly campsite owners always readily available, with plenty of information on local activities. Springbank Distillery in Campeltown is worth a visit, as is the swimimng pool when the weather isn't so great.

Will definitely be returning next year - to walk some more of the Kintyre way.
