I had a great time at this campsite. I was amazed by how clean and tidy the site was, there were cleaners in the toilets everyday and I love the way they had a dedicated area for small children. The site was layed out in an orderly fashion and there was always loads of people about.
The washing up facilities are great, they also provide washing equipment as well, (dryer etc). The site also has a bin area for you to drop off your rubbish. I liked the fact that the site backs onto another field and onto the river as well.
The people on the site are friendly and helpful and there was a group of teenagers who are very kind and polite to people. They always seemed to be bored though, because there is not much for that age group, but they are a great group of kids and I loved they way they could just sit and make it funny somehow.
The site overall is great and I am definately going back again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for August Bank Holiday. We only booked a few weeks in advanced and didn't think they would have room for us and when I chatted to the lady on the phone she did seem quite disorganised and I was worried as she didn't take any money off me or a contact name or number and we were worried that on arrival we wouldn't have a space to pitch. When we got there this wasn't the case, the lady who ran it just had a very laid back approach which was great, she allowed us to arrive and pitch at 8.30 in the morning and on day of departure leave as late as we liked which meant we got an additional 2 days there really, as most sites are strict about arrival and departure times.
The site was basic but great for the price, a huge play area for kids. A marquee for entertainment over the Bank Holiday weekend. The shower block was basic and the only complaint I had is that the drains smelt in there quite badly, and that the toilet block made a gathering ground for all the kids and teenagers and as we were pitched close by it was no fun at midnight when they were still hanging around making alot of noise.
The village Chertsey is within walking distance, lots of nice pubs there and is pretty walking by the Thames. Being so close to the Thames was great as my boyfriend is a keen fisherman and was delighted at what he was able to catch!
For 3 nights with hook up it was under £30, what great value. We stayed there as a base to do the theme parks, but the village itself is poorly signposted and got very lost one night. All in all we had a pleasant bargain break and we will be going again soon we hope.

Surprisingly quiet camp site given variety of ages present . No car policy is excellent . The site itself was relatively crowded with tents but this wasn't a problem as we spent most of the day walking along the Thames towpath . Showers were fine . Good location and we could see climbing frame /kids facilities as being great -- that said we haven't got kids and still enjoyed Laleham a lot .

First time we had visited this site. The site is clean and well maintained and reasonabl priced. Only real problem with the site was the showers are set at a temperature which cannot be altered and are scalding hot. I couldn't stand the heat and there was no way my 3 year old would be able to. OK for one night but wouldn't go back .....for fear of smelling after going without a shower for too long !!

SUMMARY. A cheaper summer alternative to Chertsey Camping Club campsite which is about I km away. Surrounded by parkland and within few yards of the Thames.
FULL REVIEW:
I was told that the campsite is owned by the members who “permanently” pitch their large frame tents there from April to late August each year, and then come to meet up with their friends from time to time. Non-member tourers are welcome and help to pay for the upkeep of the site, which is family, orientated. There is a central play area where children can play on the equipment or sandpit. However children are not allowed to cycle within the campsite and cars are parked away from the tents. The amenity block is modern with a good supply of free HOT water and there are coin in slot washing machines etc. The campsite is in a very pleasant parkland setting right within yards of the picturesque Thames. The welcome was very friendly and this campsite is a summer alternative to the “posher” and more expensive Camping Club site in nearby Chertsey. If you have youngish children they are more likely to meet and play with others of their own age here. Our family went for 3 days just before Good Friday (Easter) and were very pleasantly surprised. We didn’t find traffic noise from M25 and aircraft (Heathrow) intrusive. It cost £12 per day for two adults and two children for a trailer tent with NO electricity- (hook up available extra) when we went April 2003.. For 3 campsite pictures see:-
