What a lovely site, just a couple of miles outside the lovely old town of Cacerres. There is a bus stop outside the site which takes you right into the centre of town for a Euro each!

The pitches vary and some are quite tight but are all well placed.

Each pitch has its own shower, toilet and sink so its always as clean as you want to leave it!

Lovely pool and a bar/cafeteria as well as a restaurant are all available and reasonably well priced. There is a small shop where you can also get fresh baked bread every day.

The pool area can get busy but there are lots of outside spaces to sit. Staff very helpful and free wi-fi.

Third visit to this site. Great location and good bus service to town for 1 euro each way. Facilities are just as good as before and the site is clean and tidy.

Downside for us was that we stayed for five nights, including Friday and Saturday nights when the noise from the adjacent open air night club was appalling. We were assured that this was a one off but I doubt that and would advise avoiding weekend nights.

There was plenty of space on the site early September.

We booked for four nights on our way across Spain towards Portugal and it is at a useful crossroads for several destinations. Many people only seemed to stop one or two nights, but we spent time to explore a little including the historic old town and the Los Barruecos reserve with its strange rock formations and storks.

The wet room cabins are quite unique and we found it very useful, as was the net canopy over a large area of the pitch, so we did not put up our awning. The free wifi was a bonus but it did not extend to our pitch unfortunately.

The pool area was pleasant but it looked as if it was open to the public as well so was quite busy at the weekend. Seem to think the site is a municipal one so that may be the reason.

We didn't use the bar/restaurant, but did buy bread daily which was very good.

Our stay was blighted by a private party being held at the adjacent tennis club on the Friday. We heard a live band tuning up during the evening, but then things hotted up, including the volume and chatter from guests which carried across the campsite, and this went on until 4am the next morning resulting in us having little sleep.

Reports next morning from other campers who had complained at reception were that this was an occasional occurrence. Other UKCS reviews in September also speak of similar disturbances, so this is clearly more than occasional.

There were many disgruntled campers who mentioned this aggravation as they checked out, but were told that if staying with the ACSI off season card (16) they were not eligible for refund or discount. I overheard one Dutch camper suggest that perhaps the management of the tennis club should be responsible for reimbursing the dissatisfied campsite clients!

Would we use the site again? Yes, possibly, but definitely not at a weekend.

Our second visit to this site 2 years later and its just as good as we remembered.

All facilities clean and well kept, the site is well looked after and each pitch was immaculate. Check in was fast and efficient and we were given a key to our shower / toilet and told to pay when we decided to leave.

The site is a little way out of town but the bus is handy for trips in if you don't want to drive. There is a small supermarket roughly 15 minutes walk away. The site shop has fresh bread daily and a small restaurant serving snacks and bars meals as well as a bar. Reception staff very friendly and helpful with any requests or inquiries.

Free wifi access from all pitches which has a good signal strength.

Access to the site is literally minutes from the N630 and this route saves having to go through town at all.

This is an excellent site for those heading south but would say its worth using as a base for the surrounding area for a few days too.

I echo the comments made by others - this site is very good. There are over 100 parcelas on a sloping hillside. Access to the site is very wide and well surfaced and security is tip top with a barrier operated by reception.

Each parcela is fitted with its own ablution block to which only you and site staff have a key. There is a hot shower powered by gas boiler, wash basin & toilet with paper and we found all this to be scrupulously clean and in good order.

The parcelas are on a terraced hillside and when the site is almost empty getting our twin axled caravan into place was a doddle. However with a full site in summer a little more care would need to be taken with some of the smaller parcelas, possibly with the use of motor movers. Parking your car on the same parcela as a large van could be tight with the smaller ones too.

As well as your own ablution block there is also a water tap and hose fitted to each parcela. Electric is 10A.

As far as we were aware the big attraction in Caceres is the Old Town. There is multi story parking within 2 minutes walk of the Old Town on Calle San Jose. We stayed for almost 4 hours for 2 Euros. Street parking is nigh on impossible.

There is a large Carefour supermarket on Carretera de Valencia de Alcan. Shop on site carries only bread & a few essentials.

Little to add to other reviews but it is worth repeating what a great site this is.

The luxury of a private toilet and shower with unlimited hot water etc is unique in our short experience of sites.

As with other sites it is surprising how little there is in the site shop out of season, they have the staff and space but very little in the way of food.

There is a football pitch adjacent to the site and so on match nights there is some noise, but it is short lived and not a problem for us.

As this site is in an urban area it would not be a site that walkers would choose unless they want to drive to more rural areas.
