I was searching for a site for our 2 night weekend break and reading the website my curiosity was aroused. I promptly booked, quite surprised that the 1 space pitch was available at such late notice, off we set, hoping that we wouldn`t be disappointed on arrival! What a gem we discovered, from the moment we arrived, everything we would want and more, great people, outstanding gardens immaculate in every way and just a pleasure to wander around. Our own patio and separate garden with all you need on the pitch to make for a relaxed stay. A vastly understated description by the owners, Go and see for yourself ! It will appeal to the couple who like easy going walks in the immediate area, a local pub is there or just just enjoy those superb gardens. A pleasure to be there and top of our list to enjoy again.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable two night stay at this pitch. If you like large sites this is not for you as there is literally one pitch.
The pitch has its own patio area with table and chairs, surrounded by a beautiful garden. The owners Janet and John are lovely, friendly people who made us very welcome and respected our privacy.
The White Lion Pub (across a busy road)is round the corner. The food and beer is good, the service excellent, and we particularly recommend the chocolate truffles on sale at the bar, made by local twins Ceri and Rosemary Jones of withlovesweets.
The site is close to Offa's Dyke path and Chirk Castle, we will visit again.

Until I discovered 'Hafod' I had no idea that there was such a thing as a 'single' caravan pitch; now I've been there I really hope it catches on!
Effectively Hafod gives you a serviced pitch. You have your own water supply, your own power (of course) and your own drainage, which was perfectly positioned for the outlet on my Euromobile Contura! The owner is a superb gardener and has provided a private patio area for campers surrounded by a superb flower bed. Though we didn't use it, as we are self-contained, I understand there is a shower / WC available and laundry facilities are also provided.
The pitch is near a moderately busy road and a terrifying crossroads, but far enough away that the traffic didn't really bother us. There is a regular bus service to Oswestry and Welshpool so if, like me, you are reluctant to hump your 'snailmobile' into town then there are alternatives.
The owners could not have been more perfect. You have, after all, parked in their garden! But they were supportive, friendly, and welcoming while leaving you enough space to enjoy your stay in a part of the country which one often passes through en route to Wales but which, trust me, is well worth a visit.
We shall be returning!
