Just returned from a 2 night bank holiday break with the family, 4th visit to this site in two years. Excellent clean facilities on every visit and never had any problems. Great spot if you are into water sports or canoeing, kids love the park and playing down by the lake only down side was the weather. Bala town only short drive away with plenty of shops and pubs also there's Bala railway which runs down along the full length of the lake which we hope to go on next time we visit.

Great site, visited whilst touring Snowdonia on our motorcycles. Friendly helpful owners. Clean shower and toilet block with plenty of hot water.
The tent area next to the lake was quite wet so we utilised the hard standing area for the bikes and pitched adjacent to them. Enjoyable stay, great location right on Bala Lake.
The town of Bala is a short drive away with a selection of pubs restaurants and a convenience store. Will happily visit again in the future.

Brilliant site.
3 night stay in large tent with EHU, midweek stay.
Beautiful surroundings, with the lake, hills, trees in the distance.
Many (inc us) used the lake to paddle, kayak etc brilliant free entertainment for all ages.
Jet fighters roared past at low levels on several occasions which was fun to see.
We wanted to be near to family in a camper van on a hardstanding pitch, but was no problem, and meant we had plenty space. Site was approx half full
We had fantastic weather, owner and other reviewers mentioned poor drainage in wet weather, hence my Dad's small camper van having to go on a hard standing due to wet weather prior to our arrival.
We visited site several years ago as a day visitor and noted the same then. Maybe they should look into improving drainage, but obviously be expensive.
Excellent facilities, plenty clean toilets, paper and soap, and hot showers. Signs say no showers between 11am - 5pm, but daughter had hot shower mid afternoon fine, maybe because they don't guarantee hot water during day. 20p for hairdryers if needed. Dish washing sinks had double draining boards which were good, and pay to use washing machines available too.
The play area is right by the park entrance and by the main road, so our son didn't use it much, as felt just bit out of sight for him to go on his own. Took his bike to ride around site (although signs say not to) we made sure he didn't get in people's way.
Most other campers seemed to be in large groups as several tents, caravans grouped together. The 1st night was spoilt by noisy neighbours until 2am, but no fault of the site and didn't reoccur.
Small shop stocked good range of items, sweets, ice lollies and toys, and Tourist information leaflets for attractions in area. Ice packs cost £1 deposit then 20p to freeze, didn't ask if they could freeze our own ice packs, as not needed.
About 3 miles to small town of Bala, which is lovely to stroll around with pubs/places to eat.
Co-Op and Spar there too.
We visited the Whitewater Canoe Centre about 2 miles away from Bala, was fun to watch.
Would definitely return, as only hour and half away from home for us.

Just returned home after spending a week electric hookup in our tent at this wonderful campsite, we had all kinds of weather, bright hot sunshine, very heavy showers and strong winds we found the campsite to be well sheltered with good drainage. The most space we have ever had camping.
The toilet block and showers were spotless and never full so no queuing.
The views over the lake and towards the hills are lovely.
Well stocked Co-op and Spar in Bala as well as small shop on site, good Chinese takeaway in Bala excellent Indian in Dolgellau. The staff on site were very friendly and welcoming and myself and the other 3 families in our party thought it was the nicest site we have been on and will be going back.

Fantastic campsite.
This was our 3rd visit in 2 years and we plan to return again this year!
The owner was concerned about some bad reviews due to the bad weather and boggy ground. We arrived after a massive storm and found the ground where we pitched to have coped very well. Whilst we were there more rain fell and again the drainage was more than adequate. There were 2 small patches of boggy ground on the grass leading up to the toilet blocks. However, these were fenced off and caused no problems.
The site itself is set in a beautiful location. We had EHU and even set well back from the lake our views of both the lake and mount Tegid were stunning.
We had lots of fun sailing and canoeing in the lake. It is so nice to be able to launch direct from the site from the sheltered beach area.
There is lots to do in the surrounding area - Bala white water centre, slate mine etc we went to Barmouth for the day too.
Facilities are first rate - lots of clean toilets and showers. Never a queue. Seamless and friendly check-in. Small shop on site and short car trip to Bala for major restocking needs.
My one criticism is the location of the playground - right by the entrance to the campsite and a busy road.

We were booked in for 4 nights over the half-term. In the end because of the weather we left earlier because of the bad weather (storms and gales) heading in our direction.
Check-in was smooth, we were shown to our pitch. It is the first time on a site when we have not been told where the toilet blocks, water points and bins etc are. As units around us left it became obvious there were water points much closer to us than we thought!
Never needed to queue for a shower. It was all clean. Wish I'd taken my hair dryer as theirs were 20p but after 40p my hair was nowhere near dry, think it would have taken £1 and I don't have very long hair.
Generally the campsite was very quiet at night. It had a nice atmosphere during the day. The views were lovely, we could see the lake through the trees with the hills in the background.
As people packed up there became a large area in front of our tent where people could play ball games and fly kites, if the site was full there wouldn't be a lot of space for that. Our kids did use the playground as we went over and sat there whilst they played, not the best located one it has to be said.
I knew many of the places we wanted to go were roughly 30miles away in different directions but hadn't accounted for the very slow roads so it took a long time to get anywhere. For this reason I don't think we personally would return, it is also 5hrs from home and we like to try new places.
In lovely weather (it rained almost constantly) it would be wonderful, I had hoped the kids might be able to play around in the lake but it was too cold and wet for that. It's a perfect site if you love watersports and many of the campers had their own gear, you can also hire locally.
