This is a perfect site if you like a quiet rural spot. In character it is like a British CL or CS, but with a few more pitches. Most of the pitches are enclosed by tall hedges, giving a lot of privacy, but some are more open, and there is a small tents area across the cycle-track. There is a nice but simple toilet block - the showers are excellent - no push-button, and very hot! The site is directly on one of the many (mainly) off-road cycle routes in the area - pick up a free map at the tourist office in Bracieux. As the area is pretty flat it makes ideal cycling for all members of the family. The nearest and most spectacular Chateau is Chambord, an easy 30-minute cycle ride or ten minute drive away. During the summer there is a nightly sound and light show which really is a 'must do'! We have seen it twice and it was just as amazing the second time!
Finding the site can be a bit tricky as it is not well signed. From the centre of the small village of Huisseau-sur-Cosson take the D33 towards Chambord. Within a few hundred metres of the centre there is a cemetery on the right - turn right here. There is a very small easily missed 'campings' sign on the corner but this is difficult to see if coming from Chambord direction. The owner, M Delaboissiere is very helpful, but you will need to exercise your knowledge of French!
