The campsite is located in a field ontop of a hill overlooking our favourite place- Croyde beach. It is within walking distance of Croyde beach- but perhaps not with young children and carrying a lot of stuff- the hill back up is pretty steep.
The campsite owner was extremely kind and helpful- minding our 4 children for us as we attempted to take down our tent in 70 mile an hour winds.
There is plenty of space on the site for children to run around in, tents are not packed in like on other sites, and it's fun to be able to light fires.
The toilet facilities are temporary portaloos, and we felt the site was expensive for the basic facilities available, there also was nowhere to dispose of waste water and no washing up facilities other than a tap. Having said the temporary showers were hot and had fan heaters to warm the hut they were in.
A good 'get away from the crowds' site, but pricey for what you get.

Me and my husband visited this campsite for the jubilee weekend. The site is about a 10 minute walk from Croyde which is beautiful and has a lovely beach, pubs and a restaurant and a village shop. Croyde is about a 10 min drive from Braunton which has a supermarket.
If you only intend sleeping in your tent then this site is great but we felt that the price was a lot for the facilities available. This site is a field with portaloos and temporary shower blocks. There is only 1 standpipe so be prepared to carry your water!
There is plenty of room for children to run and play and dogs are accepted. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the view was fantastic.

We stayed at Croyde View for Oceanfest weekend and it really was a very expensive campsite for what was on offer.
We were very disappointed to find that there were no permanent toilets and showers - only portaloos and temporary shower blocks - as I had been told when I booked the site that permanent facilities would be installed. Also there were nowhere near enough showers. We were very lucky that lots of people who had planned to come didn't actually turn up due to bad weather because the site had 12 showers and there were meant to be nearly 700 people on site. If they had all turned up it would have been a nightmare. Portable loos weren't cleaned properly either.
Also there was only one standpipe which isn't really enough.
As for location, it's advertised as being 'close' to Croyde but it's a good 20-25 minute walk to the beach and much of that is along a busy and very narrow lane.
On the upside, the site has a lovely view and the owners made it clear that bad behaviour wouldn't be tolerated and employed security all weekend to keep troublemakers out.
When you consider that the price for Croyde View during Oceanfest weekend is similar to Ruda, which has excellent facilities and a great location I would advise you only to book here as a last resort.
Apparently they are hoping to build permanent facilities so this review might be irrelevant by next year. A lot of work is needed to bring the place up to scratch and to make it worth the £15 a night that we paid though.
