A lovely site, on top of a hill near the cliffs so it might be windy in poor weather; we were fortunate to have excellent weather during our stay. The site is clean and tidy and well laid out. Just a few steps brings you onto the Coast Path from where there are lovely walks in both directions. Another path leading directly from the site takes you easily into Bridport (not more than a couple of miles) where we visited the very good Saturday market. The showers and toilet block are spacious and clean; there are good views of the sea from many pitches, and there is a nearby pub in the village of Eype. The paths from the site are well-signpopsted, and one leads past a small nature reserve/pond with a bench for sitting on and observing nature.

Love this site. Our third visit this year. Fully serviced pitch in North Rye area. We ate in bar area with 2 dogs & made very welcome. Staff all very friendly and wash rooms very clean & warm. We find this site an easy tow and really appreciate the closeness to the beach and great dog walking area. We'll be back again next year.

I have been to this site three times in the last three years. The first time was fab, gorgeous weather, views and setting with a lovely hill climb one side of the site and the west bay the other which has lots of seaside attractions and good for children and adults alike.

The second time we went, we managed one night and went home because of 70-100 mile an hour winds but the site team who are amazing, refunded the money over to this year.

We just got back from our third trip there. Again, site in good condition, and its not too 'ruly' or restrictive. Children can run free and have fun and teens also had stuff to do - we went to the weymouth carnival which was good cheesy fun!

The restaurant has been refurbished as needed, it was quite outdated. I hope they do the shower blocks next and build another closer to the camping tents and pods as it is required. The ones there are a good size and functional but need more cleaning at busy times and need the thermostats sorting as 4 were too hot to stand in. The on site shop is well stocked and Bridport Morrison's is close by.

Sadly cut our hols by a day because of another very very windy and gusty night needing extra pegging out in the lashing rain etc and another horrid night forecast. Overall a fab site and would return but may be inclined to get a caravan next time as when the weather is bad, there is no hiding place. D

Very disappointed with this site.

Bad points: Only 8 male showers and 8 female showers for over 160 pitches - unless you went at 6. 30am you had to queue. Water almost always luke warm or stone cold and shower water comes out in a dribble. Plenty of noise after 10. 30pm. Dogs roaming off leads. No wardens patrolling (that I saw). People allowed to pitch two large, family tents in one pitch (4 adults, 10 children, 3 dogs!), when told about this, nothing was done. Staff in leisure club rude and unfriendly.

Good points: Martins Bar - Nice modern facility - great beer, good food & reasonable prices. Good location for exploring Dorset (Lyme Regis, West Bay, Bridport, Charmouth etc. ) and just a short walk to the local beach.

We have visited this site previously and it never fails to disappoint. In February when we visited we were arriving in the evening so decided to plan ahead and call in to book a takeaway meal, unfortunately the bar was closed for refurbishment but fortunately the site was still offering a takeaway service out of reception which provided us with a hot and tasty meal on arrival.

The site itself is well looked after with great, clean facilities. The pitches are nice and flat so no problems levelling up and there is easy access to the coast path and the dog walking field to ensure that our dogs are kept happy.

Whilst we generally visit this site in quieter periods the pitches with the lovely sea views are almost always taken, a testament to the beautiful view, fortunately it is still possible enjoy the coastline and the sea air from many of the other well positioned pitches. During this stay we didn’t plan to do much, just a bit of walking off of the site to Colmer’s Hill and then the following day into West Bay to have a browse around ‘The Customs House’ a mix of retro/vintage/bric-a-brac stalls under one roof in an old sea side barn/courtyard area, there are also a couple of pubs and fish and chip cabins near the harbour. We have previously walked into Bridport and also along the coast path in the opposite direction to Seaton and onto Golden Cap.

Would recommend this site to anyone who enjoys camping near the sea and walking.

Its ok. We were after good sea views, and literally 4 tents could have any sea views. We were disappointed because of that. You either have to arrive very early so you can be sure to get a pitch with sea views (which is very few) or if that's not your priority, then this campsite is just fine. Good facilities, and good for kids.
