Arrived and after a slight booking issue that Rita quickly rectified we where pitched. The pitch was good and electric hookup connected. The views are beautiful and we went fishing in the small pool. The site has all the facilities you really need but quite basic but for the price it's excellent.

We live locally but it was our first time out in a new tent so didn't want to go far. Just in case of disaster, but all went well.

Although it was local it was still a great weekend with friends.

Rita sorts out and logs for the fire pit and the burgers from the shop (I say shop but it's the farmhouse) are amazing. The site is also dog friendly which could be a disaster but all the dogs there where quite and well behaved.

Overall a lovely quiet site would recommend.

What a gem. Much of what I could write is in the previous review. Most of the spacious terraced pitches have a metal fire pit and some have a pic-nic table. The views from the higher up pitches are fantastic looking out on to miles of beautiful Shropshire farmland. We enjoyed watching both the harvest being combined as well as some planes, a micro-light and a helicopter taking off and landing at Hughley International (The aircraft strip across from the campsite) (Binoculars are very useful)We were welcomed by Rita who was both a friendly and welcoming host. Take away breakfasts as well as BBQ meats are available. Behind the farmhouse is an area with Pods, Yurts and Bell tents etc which had it's own WC facilities. We really enjoyed our stay at this site which was blessed by great weather. Plus point for us were the spacious showers, free with hooks and a stool a little rustic but hey this is camping. We shall return next year.

One of the best sites we have stayed at.

Plenty of room on pitches

Free hot showers, enough toilets -clean

Fire pits available, logs to buy or bring your own

Picnic benches

Beautiful views

Fresh produce available at the house, eggs bacon rolls etc

Very safe for children to walk around play

Very reasonable price of 16 per night for campers/caravans.

A short drive to Much Wenlock, we ate at the George and Dragon excellent menu selection, plenty of vegetarian options, friendly staff.

Lots to do in the area visiting the lovely villages Bridgnorth, Church Streton and of course Ironbridge.

We hired Canoes here for 3 hours, full days available. Just under the bridge.

Museums also good for a rainy day. Family pass for 68 for all 10 museums annual pass. Victorian village worth every penny.

Shall definitely be recommending to our friends and Family.

We stayed in the Kingfisher pod

Firstly the positives

The pod was bare bones it had a heater and electricity.

A picnic bench next to the fire pit and 2 chairs and a small table under cover near the door

Amazing views from this pod

The showers and toilets where kept clean

The owners where great and dropped of any wood or fresh meat menu in reception and the loos

Also does marshmallows for the fire pit (kids love this)

4 quid for a bucket of wood

Few places on the camping field under some trees with older bbq and fire pits

Now the few slight negatives

The road in is fine for cars. If your towing you might struggle to get round into the camping area a few very sharp bends

Unfortunately the slope up to the pod was steep and loose stones even seen a 4x4 struggle to park up

I would park near the loos if you pick this pod or the top tipi

The showers for the glamping side could do with a new system in as the showers where older electric ones would go cold for 10 seconds or so then you get a minute of hot and so on.

But over all we will be going again. Of a night its quite tranquil and the camp site is far enough away from towns to allow you to see some good night skies

This is a fantastic place. We stayed here for two nights Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd July. Myself, daughter 17, son 15 and 2 cocker spaniels. It has everything we look for. The sloping field has been terraced which means you get fantastic views and whether you're camping alone or as part of a bigger group you feel like you've got your own area and the pitches are so generous you definitely don't feel crammed in. The fact you can have a campfire was a big draw for us. We ended up sharing a fire pit with our nearest neighbours on our second night. (Our neighbours had come all the way from Lytham St Annes for the weekend that's how much they love it). Rita who runs the site will whizz over on her quad bike with kindling and fire wood and you'll be toasting marshmallows in no time! The toilets, showers and washing up area are all located in the same area over by the farmhouse. If I remember correctly there were 2 separate toilets, 1 toilet and shower combo and 1 shower. Which on the weekend we were there were clean, well stocked with loo rolls and were more than adequate for the numbers camping. There are 2 washing up sinks which have a lovely view of the garden which makes the job much less of a chore. There are lots of lovely places in the local area. We visited Cardingmill Valley on th Saturday, but there are walks from the site itself if you don't want to drive. Personally I'm fed up of being ripped off by campsites who want to charge me 25-30 per night to pitch a tiny 3 man tent, a gazebo and 2 dogs. We were charged 32 for the weekend which I think is very reasonable and affordable, camping is supposed to be the budget option, a lot of campsites need to remember this! We didn't try the farmhouse takeaway breakfasts but our neighbours did and they said that they're delicious! The WiFi is excellent. The welcome was very warm. We will be returning as soon as we can. Next time we will try some of the burgers for sale. Also we may invest in some fishing tackle to take advantage of the fishing lake. All of the other campers were really nice and friendly, my kids made friends and played games with the other kids. Most people had dogs including us, everyone kept their dogs under control and cleaned up after them. The pods and bell tents are great if you are camping as part of a larger group and for whatever reason some of your group need pre-erected accommodation. I can't think of a single thing I'd like to change.

There were 16 of us ranging from 5 to 70 (it was the 70th birthday we were celebrating) and we had a wonderful time. We came here because we came from Bristol, Blackburn and Reading so it is central. We weren't particularly noisy but this site is ideal for such an occasion. Fire pit, barbecue, walks in the woods were a treat. We even had the farmhouse breakfast which was excellent value.

We stayed on for a few days and walked the Long Mynd and visited Iron Bridge and Much Wenlock. With binoculars you can just pick out the site from the highest point of the Long Mynd at Pole Bank, which gives you an idea of the views from the site.

We'll be back even if we're not celebrating anything!
