First time on this site, was very pleasantly surprised, , the site and amenities are spotless, the warden was very friendly and helpful, scenery fantastic, would thoroughly recommend it, , will definitely be back.

This is ideally placed for day trips all around fife.

This is an adult only site and is just perfect to recharge the batteries and relax.

Having just retired we are new to caravanning so this is only the fourth site we have visited which was recommended by a friend. The friendly warden checked us in and gave us a welcome pack. He also helped us to set up on a pitch overlooking the river Forth - very picturesque.

The site is very quiet and peaceful and also well maintained. The toilet block is immaculate. There is a very nice restaurant also with spectacular views over the Forth. A nice touch was the voucher given to us on arrival for afternoon tea and scones.

St Andrew's is only about 15 min. Drive away and there are plenty of other places of interest to visit.

We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be back.

We read the reviews of this site, but on visiting were very disappointed - its more of a building site, but what really put us off is that they have no facility for a motorhome to dump grey water - we had to go into the field to empty our tank - it was easy enough to fill up at the taps - but they do not cater for motorhomers - most disappointing

We love visiting monturpie, because its an adults only site we book onto the cl. Fantastic views and plenty of room for the kids to run about. Lots of un-used grassy area where kids can get out away from other caravans, ours love to fly their kites here. Have used this site loads of times. Own sanitation essential. Close to leven, st andrews and cupar.

You can walk into upper largo and down onto the beach. If there was a down side to the cl it would be it needs its own water tap. There is two but they are on the rally field and not always handy when there is a rally on.

Great quiet, adult only site overlooking the Forth with a panoramic view up on the hillside.

Friendly and very clean toilet block. Only two toilets and one shower with the use of an additional disabled toilet/shower.

Work under way on a new building within the site and hopefully this may accommodate further facilities for the site.

The village is a 10 min walk with shop and hotels offering restaurant dining.

Price- very reasonable at 15/day in early Sept.

We will visit again.

There are 3 sites here - the original CL for CC members which has been here for many years; a grass rally field; and the Adults Only site which is only a few years old. My review is for this third site, which we recommend very highly. It's exceptional value at only 15 for the following -

A friendly welcome with a 'welcome pack' of tourist brochures: the wardens live on site; are always out keeping the place tidy; know all the local walks; organise a few social events every year(judging by photos in the office); help you choose a pitch that suits what you want; and deal promptly with suggestions in the visitors book.

Very generous roomy pitches (some hardstands and some grass, on a series of terraces) with EHU; panoramic views down to the Firth of Forth and to the hills nearby (so all pitches have sun all day but the higher ones can be breezy); real peace & quiet, surrounded by fields; a path down the hill to Upper Largo (10 mins); a restaurant at the former farmhouse, now guesthouse beside the site (10-4 weekdays, 10-6 weekends); free Wi-fi, although the signal is weak; covered pot wash; laundry (2 per load); a room with books and magazines to borrow; a dedicated dog walk (mown path in long grass); recycling.

Modern clean toilet block with keypad, and it's not closed when it's being cleaned; free hair dryer and hand lotions; one free hot shower in a big wetroom; Kingdom Radio playing, so you hear the local weather forecast and what's on; and another room with disabled facilities - you can use this shower if the other one is busy (though I never met anyone else at the Ladies).

Although the site does not officially take tents, there was a small pup tent pitched during our stay. So it may do no harm to ask if the other site nearby (above Lower Largo) is full.

My one word of caution is that there are no advance signs on approach, so there's a risk of driving past the way in. From Upper Largo, go past the Monturpie Guesthouse sign and the wide site entrance is a bit further on. Can't advise for the approach from St Andrews.
