There are 3 sites here - the original CL for CC members which has been here for many years; a grass rally field; and the Adults Only site which is only a few years old. My review is for this third site, which we recommend very highly. It's exceptional value at only £15 for the following -

A friendly welcome with a 'welcome pack' of tourist brochures: the wardens live on site; are always out keeping the place tidy; know all the local walks; organise a few social events every year(judging by photos in the office); help you choose a pitch that suits what you want; and deal promptly with suggestions in the visitors book.

Very generous roomy pitches (some hardstands and some grass, on a series of terraces) with EHU; panoramic views down to the Firth of Forth and to the hills nearby (so all pitches have sun all day but the higher ones can be breezy); real peace & quiet, surrounded by fields; a path down the hill to Upper Largo (10 mins); a restaurant at the former farmhouse, now guesthouse beside the site (10-4 weekdays, 10-6 weekends); free Wi-fi, although the signal is weak; covered pot wash; laundry (£2 per load); a room with books and magazines to borrow; a dedicated dog walk (mown path in long grass); recycling.

Modern clean toilet block with keypad, and it's not closed when it's being cleaned; free hair dryer and hand lotions; one free hot shower in a big wetroom; Kingdom Radio playing, so you hear the local weather forecast and what's on; and another room with disabled facilities - you can use this shower if the other one is busy (though I never met anyone else at the Ladies).

Although the site does not officially take tents, there was a small pup tent pitched during our stay. So it may do no harm to ask if the other site nearby (above Lower Largo) is full.

My one word of caution is that there are no advance signs on approach, so there's a risk of driving past the way in. From Upper Largo, go past the Monturpie Guesthouse sign and the wide site entrance is a bit further on. Can't advise for the approach from St Andrews.

We were delighted with this gorgeous site. We hadn't booked but noticed it as we drove past and luckily they had a pitch for our motorhome. Each space is more than generous.

The proprietor was very helpful and friendly. There are outstanding views over the Firth of Forth. Toilet block immaculate. They had even put hand creams etc in the ladies toilet which was a nice added touch. This site is divided up into an adult only section and another field for general camping.

All campers had generous space around them in both areas. It has a nice rural feel but with the conveniences that are necessary eg showers & washing machines. Thoroughly recommend.
