Just came back today having spent 6 days at this site. After arriving early we where shown to the 5 acre field. Very nice large field with gliders going overhead.

After setting up and going to check out the site, it came apparent that the toilets where a walk away from this field. Recommend if camping with small children portable toilet will be needed.

The showers were so hot on the first day I was unable to stand under the spray, the 2 day the showers where cold. I found that if you keep turning the dial the spray did get better.

My daughter didn't like the pool as it was to cold and very slimy. Yuck.

Site is very quite and would suit families with small children.

The on site shop is very good, the prices weren't to bad but please note only got the basics in stock and the local tesco's in town was used on a daily basis.

Staff friendly and as it was raining we were advised that if we got the car stuck a tracker would get us out.

This site is pretty much isolated from any town (cullompton/honiton being the closest 2) If you like walking and just a quiet little site then this is the place for you.

It has a tennis court for those a little more energetic a small ball games field and a larger Adventure playground, kids loved that. The games room is not really up to much could do with being updated, but pool was cheap and table tennis was something different, the games machines were all switched off.

The showers and toilets are great, very clean and enough for all, but the showers were a little cold and quite low, but I am a shorty anyway.

The swimming pool is not large, and the water was freezing, and also all the surfaces were slimy, I handled just 10 mins and then I was done, then went to the showers and they were also cold.

Overall I would say this is a great place for the older generation who want a quiet time away with some nice walks in the woods.

Just got back from this park and we must say what a disappointment

Firstly directions are no good, too complicated

The pool was shut but no one bothered to tell us when we booked in, we just happened to overhear one of the kids asking if the pool was open yet, later a sign appeared outside the office and the pool did not open all week

The toilets and shower blocks were all clean and tidy but the showers were not really not worth using as they were either too hot or too cold and had no pressure

As a man of not that stature only being 5'8, the 3 out of 4 urinals were too high so had to use the kids one and having the use of the disabled toilets, the toilet is set on a plinth that is at least 3 inch, so it makes the toilet too high to sit there too long without your legs getting sore, as you can not reach the floor and

Finally where we were there was no drainage on our pitch so because we had rain all week our awning was flooded all week

As for the staff cant really comment as we did not really see any, was ok when we got there but that's really it

The weather was lovely and sunny when we left Nottingham, and we started our holidays in good spirits.

The next day we went sightseeing, but got back to the tent just in time, as the rain started and went on for 21 hours. Being campers of long standing we didn't let it stop us enjoying our break, but after 10 days we decided to pack up while we had a nice dry day.

We found the campsite clean and tidy, and the management helpful friendly and cheerful. As we were the only tent on the tent site they didn't bother us very much, although there were caravans coming and going.

The only criticism that we had was that the fresh water tap flooded when ever it rained and could do with updating. The disabled shower room needs improving.

Although the toilets and showers were clean and tidy the shower heads could be de scaled for a better flow. We found that some of the dish washing taps didn't work.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would go back again to try and see it in some sunshine!

Lost count of the number of times we have stayed here. We love the atmosphere. Watching the gliders and the parachute jumpers etc you can easily get distracted when reading.

The wildlife is great, deer, rabbits, foxes, owls, squirrels, badgers, birds a plenty.

We tend to go and just relax. We don't live too far away and it's enjoyable and easy for a long weekend. I have even stayed here by myself when hubby was away. There are lots of kind people to assist if you need help.

The wardens are friendly and helpful, but not in your face.

It's lovely and safe for children, my grandson loves it here.

We arrived about 7pm and received a friendly welcome. A bike riding warden showed us to our pitch and advised how best to set up the caravan. When he saw that my hubby was having trouble reversing in the wet grass he immediately got out his mini tractor and backed it in for us - no fuss, all nice and friendly.

The site is nice and flat, separated into different fields, and includes some statics. The fields are well laid out with plenty of space between pitches, with hedges between the rows. The overall impression is one of order and tidiness, but no fussiness.

There is a shop which sells most neccesities - in fact their bread was cheaper than our local shop! Also for sale are penny sweets, which the kids loved. A takeaway service is also available - you order your food in the morning and collect it when it's cooked on site in the evening. We didn't use it but saw plenty of other people doing so, so it must be good.

The loos were fairly clean, however one cubicle wasn't cleaned the entire weekend we were there, and the same dollop of toothpaste was evident in the sink for the same duration. As the site wasn't busy, not all the loos, showers and washbasins were in use, but I never had to wait at all.

Now to mention the showers, as others have before me: The showers in the ladies loo block are lukewarm to cold and there is no dividing curtain - therefore you get wet clothes. In the ladies shower block the set is that of a divided cubicle - great, but unless you are 3' tall the shower head is mounted so low and close to the wall that you actually need to lean on the wall to get the full benefit, and bend right over to rinse your hair! Also, these were scalding hot, with no temperature dial. My husband said the showers in the gents were also very cold. I have to say these shower arrangements really let down what is otherwise a lovely site.

My children loved the play facilities - especially the long high zip-wire and footy field (from which we had to pry my son daily!). We also enjoyed using the games room, although I don't think there is any need for slot machines, and to be fair they were switched off, but pool and table tennis and bar football were all good fun at 50p a time. There is also a small soft play area in there, for which you need a key.

Also on site is a small indoor swimming pool, which we didn't use, but some friends said it was cold!

The site is at the top of a very long, steep hill, surrounded by woods - make sure you follow the directions they send - and is in a lovely quiet area, which is great if you're into walking etc; however if you want a base to see the sights of the south coast it's a little out of the way.

It is 10 minutes from Cullompton, where there is a great Chinese restaurant/takeaway - 'all you can eat' Sundays are £10 adult and £7. 50 child - we had a takeaway and it was great. We visited Honiton, but the traffic was terrible so we went on to Sidmouth (approx 1/2 hour drive) and had a lovely day there.

Would we return? Possibly if there were a group of us, but it was a little too far 'out of the way' for a family with travelsick kids who aren't into walking holidays!
