To find this site : Turn into Chittering at the sign that reads 'Chittering Village only' Site is on the left behind the Travellers Rest Pub ( currently closed)
At the moment coming from Cambridge it is difficult to spot ( they are waiting for brown tourist signs). I missed it and ended up doing a 'u-y' on the A10 - not advisable.
Super site, clean, friendly and helpful proprietors, and the showers are great.

Just got back from this site after having spent 3 nights there. (02 05 13) What can I say, a site that is run with the camper in mind. Very tidy, well maintained grounds. Toilets and showers (free) very clean. Very friendly, helpful staff/owners. We used this site as we had a relative staying in Addenbrookes Hospital after as serious road accident. Faced with a 200 mile round trip each day so we could be there, booking this site was a no-brainer being only 10 miles away from the hospital.
The owners, who were aware of our position, could not have been more understanding and helpful.
As a tourist, I would recommend this site as a base to visit the many interesting and quirky villages in the surrounding area and also to visit the historic city's of Cambridge and Ely. The village of Grantchester, to the west of Cambridge is a must to walk round with it's olde worldy pubs that must have been used for film locations at some time.
May we take this chance to thank the owners for looking after us both so well.

I have just spent a brilliant three nights at Travellers' Rest with my two boys (4 and 6yo).
This is a wonderful site for caravanning - perfectly flat pitches, all with EHU and plenty of water taps.
The pitches are marked out with gravel roads and paths, which were great in the rain, and the grass would make any bowling club proud. How do they have such perfect lawn?
The facilities were spotless and the individual shower rooms were big enough to clean two filthy boys.
Washing up room and covered area good - although the hot water was from electric heaters which I have always found a bit annoying.
But perhaps the best bit was the welcome and service from the owners, who were every bit as friendly, helpful and knowledgeable as others have already discovered. Their two children quickly became friends with my two, and they all spent good parts of the day playing together on the site's trampoline and swing/slide, which was lovely. My boys have already decided they only want to go here for holidays! The public play area is just outside the gate, which meant they could not go unaccompanied.
This campsite is located right on the A10, so there is traffic noise, but as it is continuous, you soon stop hearing it. This an immaculate, orderly site, not a rural retreat.
If you are looking for a comfortable, clean and handy place to pitch up in order to visit the huge number of attractions nearby (which include the two cities Cambridge and Ely, the nature reserves, RSPB sites, National Trust etc, etc) then it is perfect.

I don't wish to reiterate in detail was has been said before so I will keep it short!
Nicely located between Cambridge and Ely with a nearby Park & Ride option to the former. Excellent and very clean facilities including showers and wash up area. Nice, flat site with optional electric hookup. Extremely welcoming and friendly service from the owners.
Small play area for children within the site with a council play area just next door too. Great value compared to other sites around the Cambridge area. The nearby A10 can be a bit loud at times but with all the fresh air, getting to sleep was never a problem. Will stay again!

What a lovely site, we could not understand why more people had not found it.
Visited with two other couples in their motorhomes and made to feel very welcome.
All the facilities are first class, even has a fully fitted out disabled shower room. There is a barrier to the site which you are given the code to. The actual site is behind the Travellers Rest Pub (which is now closed) in School Lane.
The bus stop is outside a two minute walk away, on the camp side it goes to Cambridge and opposite the Travellers Rest pub is the stop for Ely. The bus to Cambridge takes you right in to the bus station where it is easy to change to another bus to go even further afield.
The owner and her husband are very friendly. Ask for the take away Indian menu, it was delivered to the site and was the best we have tasted in a long while.
Only negative we could find was there was traffic noise, but at £15 a night with electric and water on your pitch all season, this was excellent value for money. I think they may now be open February to November, so well worth checking out.
Another good thing with the site is that check out time is 2 o'clock, so no mad rush to get things put away.

When we turned off the A10 on to the immaculate gravel drive leading to this camp site I knew I had made the right choice as to where we were to spend our long weekend.
The whole site was very clean and well kept and due to our very wet summer I was very thankful for the excellent drainage the site had.
The owners are lovely people, very easy going and helpful and the facilities on the site are very well kept. It is in a great location to access some of the beautiful near by towns and the surrounding countryside. The road can be a little noisy but not enough to detract from the big pros of this site.
I met up with some other campers at a near by site who invited us to a BBQ and I have to say although it was nearer Soham (Which we were visiting each day to attend a Roller Hockey training camp) I was pleased we stayed at this site, as it was much nicer.
We will be using this site again in the future and look forward to our returning visits.
