Visited Primrose Cottage last weekend in our motorhome. Immacuately kept grounds, showers, toilets etc. Sue and Brian were lovely, helpful and pleasant people and my husband had to actually go to Brian to pay our site fees. We had wonderful views of the bay and watched beautiful evening sunsets. Tesco just a 2 minutes walk away - what a bonus!

Couldnt complain about the noise from the road as it wasn't that bad. As for the cockeral well, come on, this is the country, what more does anyone expect?

Will definitely visit this site again and as its fairly local to us anyway we look forward to our next visit. Highly recommended.

A real mixed review. Like other reviewers we too found the site to be well maintained; the grass was kept immaculate, the toilet blocks clean and with ample facilities and the little shop well stocked. The owner was friendly - although very quick to take your money off you!

We were only stopping for one evening to try our new tent out, and for this or an overnight stop the site serves its purpose. I definitely think that £14 a night for no scenery, electric hook up, noise and still having to buy tokens for shower block is on the steep side though.

But. It's not camping! With Tescos round the corner (admittedly convenient), more lights than Blackpool illuminations and the view from your tent being either a housing estate or busy A road. It is also not child friendly with steps (no gate) from the tent area down onto the busy A road.

We couldn't fault it. Spotlessly clean toilets, grounds very well kept, everyone so friendly there. Little shop for basics, Tesco just round the corner.

Not too far from Whitstable and Herne Bay sea front. It was recommended to us and we will definitely recommend this camp to everyone. We shall be going back again.

Just returned from a four night stay here and loved it. We are keen cyclists and this was an an ideal base and enabled us to pick up both the Viking Trail close by at Reculver but also the Crab & Winkle cycle path.

The site itself was neat, well looked after, grass mown with lovely primrose flower boarders, as you would expect! The toilet, shower facilities were immaculate, although didn't use the showers as had own in our caravan.

Having Tesco's only next door meant we didn't worry about forgetting anything as whatever we needed we walked around the corner and picked it up. If I had to state a downside I would say traffic noise on the first night only, because thereafter I was so tired I either didn't notice it or it didn't exist.

The owner was very friendly, the weather was very kind to us and we will be going back sometime very soon I hope.

Returned again for another week at this campsite. The owner is still in the lead role of Bob the builder, tools being loaned out or his just repairing things himself! Tesco's a great help for beer and anything you forgot to bring, and handy for getting a taxi into town.
Hope to go again next weekend for a long weekend, you don't need a pub on this site as the owner provides enough entertainment especially with his many stories! I highly recommend this site its quiet friendly and I didn't come across one spider in the toilets!

It is rare that you feel sad about leaving a place its normally just sad the holiday is over.

Lovely, obliging and very helpful owner.

Very well maintained toilets - regularly cleaned, freshly decorated and plenty of toilet roll. Hot water for the showers is by token. Do beware that they don't give very long at all so you may need at least 2 tokens to get a very speedy shower, especially in the mens. Showers are hot (with enough tokens) and clean.

Handy little washing up station with warm-ish water without tokens.

Just a quick walk round the corner to the 24hr Tesco extra if you forget anything.

The site is next to the main road, but as another reviewer said, it isn't too noisy.

Views of the sea, if you get the right position.

The only downside: a cockerel that likes to crow, especially ridiculously early in the morning, so if you are tenting you will certainly know it's time to wake up!

Would definitely return if the cockerel disappears and if the hot water for the showers was just included in the pitch price. With those 2 things, I would strongly recommend the site to others; may return despite the cockerel!
