Excellent campsite, very well run, excellent warden, top toilet/shower/bathroom/wash-up facilities that are spotlessly clean and well maintained. Plenty of room (we had a classic motorhome pitch) and very peaceful. Excellent location for Combe Martin and for us as a cycling base for the area

This site is set in a beautiful valley with walking access down a track to Combe Martin - the beach has wonderful rockpools.

But, be warned, on arrival there is a very tight turn into the site with a fast road and blind bend. Dangerous for walking along.

Staff were friendly and helpful and in evidence around the site.

Toilet/shower facilities were very good, clean and modern.

The site itself is on different levels but connected by a mixture of tarmac and rubble roadways.

We had booked a premier, hard standing, serviced pitch. The serviced aspect was fine but the hard standing was truly atrocious with thinly spread grit and rubble and was covered in weeds- some ankle high. The grit got into our van at each entry and really made us feel that this part of the site has been ignored. There is evidence of newly constructed bricked hard standing pitches, but we booked months ago and still ended up with the worst pitch we had ever experienced.

The grass pitches in contrast seemed well kept.

Attention definitely needs to be given to those who have paid a premium for hard standing. A few bags of gravel and, despite the laudable conservation aims of the site, some weedkiller is needed. Also, the road leading out of the site is very badly cracked and not a good surface for a caravan to travel over.

The whole site is a weird mixture of well done new parts with very poor rundown parts.

In truth this was, for us, a disappointing experience. We felt cheated and will not return.

Just returned from this excellent site. When we arrived at reception the staff were friendly and helpful, we were shown to our pitch, a premium fully serviced pitch, it was a good sized level pitch with grass and a lovely extra, our own picnic table and bench. The site is set on 3 levels in small groups, so you never felt overlooked. Large meadow to walk the dogs and also lovely woodland walks where the dogs can run free. Superb toilet and shower facilities along with laundry and pot washing area. A short stroll into Combe Martin and the dog friendly Newberry beach. A lovely place with nice shops and pubs.

I couldn't fault this wonderful site, we will definitely visit again.

This was our first time away in our motorhome, and we were slightly apprehensive. Directions to campsite, was really easy to find (and no need for sat nav.) On arrival personally welcomed and shown to our pitch, also explaining where the facilities were. Also a map of the site and what is on in Devon etc. Facilities consist of individual shower/washing/toilet rooms. Washing up area, and the use of micro wave and fridge if needed. All areas spotless. There is a play area for the children, but no club house.

The Staff were friendly and hard working. Always appeared to be on hand if needed.

Dogs are allowed as long as on the lead. Only 5 minutes away to dog beach, but plenty of walks through the woods. Combe Martin only 5 minutes away, but it could be difficult if you have trouble in walking.

This is a place to relax and unwind, but if you want to tour surrounding area very near to other places of interest.

Thank you to all the staff for making our weekend, wish we could have stayed longer.

This is a beautiful site set in a valley with a fishing lake. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful holiday this is the place. The pitches are large, plenty of room for your awning many with picnic table and benches. It's a clean well kept site, the facilities are good and the wardens are very helpful. There is a lovely dog walk with a meadow for them to run free. The village is a short walk downhill, steep uphill return. Don't try it if you are disabled, too steep for a scooter. The village has everything you need, bakery, Spar shop, post office, novelties, cafe. The Pack of Cards at the top of the town does a Sunday carvery with music in the garden. Plenty of places to visit in the area along the coast. Would recommend this site.

Really disappointed with the site to be honest. Came here for two nights having spent some time here last year. After being told by the wardens that the site was due to be improved on for 2016. It was on that information that we chose this site again.

Seriously. We felt Let down.

The weather did not help at all but only proved to point out some of the issues that were in need of addressing. The hard standing pitches along the top were heavily covered in weeds and the drainage from the hardstanding pitches was in some cases, non existent! Our pitch was more like that of a pond! The water collected around our truck like we were on / in. Some sort of a moat!

Insufficient hardcore down on the pitches (again. Along the top selection as we were on there) just made you feel that these have been forgotten?

This has the potential to be a very 'special' site, but although it commands a high price to be here, it is not reflected in the level of what is offered here.

Maintenance could be greatly improved on most definitely. I'm sure the costs to stay here should be put forward to improve the look especially when it comes to the gravelled pitches? It's not asking a lot.

Why in today's lifestyle. Is wifi charged extra here? Everyone now a days, relies on some form of connection to the ' modern world'. Here it is charged for extra to the high fee already paid for the pitch?

This was the dearest site we have stopped on, and even though it was on a medium rate pitch, it was and is expensive in comparison to a lot of others with wifi included.

There is the option to mention the issues to the owners so that they can address the faults found and make our/your stay, a better one. The problems here required looking at before the season began and not at the point of stopping over surely?
