Stayed for 4 nights and had no problems whatsoever

The toilet blocks are immaculate

The dog walking facilities are great

The staff cannot be more friendly and helpful

The pubs in the village nearest the harbour are good value

If you like fishing don't forget your kit as I did as the lake is full of very large carp and was kicking myself for 4 days (6 for full day)

Would recommend the site to anyone

Had 4 lovely days at Newberry Valley. It was a massive bonus that the weather was brilliant, but that didn't alter the park itself. Though we don't use the washroom facilities (preferring to use our own on board), I went over to have a look at them. They were exceptionally clean and well thought out. The park was quiet whilst we were there, just the sound of farm animals in the distance and birds in the mornings. We had chosen a premium pitch which was absolutely first class - the best we've had anywhere to be honest! But the other pitches were also lovely. The fishing lake is attractive and pleasant to walk around, spotting huge fish as you go. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly, stopping to pass the time of day, when they were out and about.

Coombe Martin is a short walk away, very attractive with supermarkets, bakery, butchers and various eateries, including a lovely fish and chip shop!

There are two buses a day into Lynton and Lynmouth, worth a visit (even our friendly bus driver had good things to say about Newberry Valley!) and buses going into Ilfracoombe on a regular basis.

Newberry Valley is an idyllic site to pitch your unit. We only wish we could have stayed longer - we stayed an extra day as it was!

This was our first visit to Newberry Vally Park, and what a pleasant surprise. We arrived with two border collie adolescent dogs, who had never been camping before, so was unsure how they would settle down. The wardens were very pleasant and always had a smile and time to chat whilst on their rounds. The site itself is lovely and the shower block immaculate (the best we have ever seen) There was a nice woodland walk and a meadow (but the dogs had to be on leads) We pitched on the new premium serviced site which had electric, water and best of all a wooden bench/table. It was a 5 minute walk to the nearest dog friendly beach, and a little further to the pubs, shops. All the pubs are dog friendly, and our two usually got a dog biscuit or two from the locals and staff. We had nice meals at the Pack of Cards ( a further 10 minute walk away) which had a lovely beer garden, The Dolphin, And The Foc'sle which had nice outside tables overlooking the beach. The best place we found for walking the dogs was the National Trust site Heddons Mouth, Just follow the signs to The Hunters Inn off the A39 from Combe Martin to Lymouth Road, approx 6 miles away. There is around 6 circular walks, up to the clifftop moors joining the south west coastal or to the sea along the river. Returning back from our walk to the Hunters Inn for a refreshing drink and a light lunch. Overall we had a great holiday, we only booked initially for 3 nights, and ended up staying a further 2 nights. Highly recommended, we will definitely return again

Did an overnight stay at this site, friendly and helpful staff, clean toilets and the site is spotless, weather was not so great for our stay but still enjoyable. Walking distance from the town where there are a couple of nice pubs. Its a steep climb back to the site after the pub so maybe one to consider if your not so mobile.

We originally booked 3 nights and then stayed and extra night over the Easter bank holiday weekend due to the pretty site and drastic improvement in the weather.

Pitches are well spaced out with the majority of them having fresh water and drainage on the pitch. We arrived after a heavy downpour and the grass pitch wasn't waterlogged so obviously well drained.

We took some lovely walks which are all situated nearby, the path to Coombe Martin beach is located directly opposite the entrance to the campsite and if you turn left off this path you can take the coastal path. We walked along the coastal path as far as Hele, you need to have a reasonable level of fitness and some good walking boots as going up and down the coastal cliffs can be quite arduous but the views are spectacular!

The campsite was friendly with the wardens patrolling regularly, everything was well maintained and the bathrooms were spotless. The only negative I could find was that I used the showers one evening and the water pressure wasn't very good and I was standing under more of a dribble than a downpour, however this didn't really affect me as we usually use the shower in our motorhome.

All in all, lovely site, lovely wardens, lovely fellow campers and I have to disagree with some other posts on here in that I didn't find it snooty at all, and we're common as muck haha! We will definitely be back.

Have just returned from Newberry Valley. The site was easy to find with good roads all the way. The staff were very friendly with a warden to show you to your pitch. We treated ourselves to a premium (serviced ) pitch which was more than adequate and also came with your own picnic table - shame the weather wasn't warm enough to use it! There was a lovely woodland walk where you could let the dog off the lead, the village was only a 10 min walk away with a few dog friendly pubs and beaches. Great toilet block with large shower rooms. Would recommend The Olde Globe pub in Berrynabor (less then 10 min drive away and also dog friendly), don't be put off by the outside it had plenty of character and lovely food. Would return to this site in the future.
