Two single dads with children booked four nights at this site and although we changed the dates at the last minute there was no problem in accommodating us. The people who run this site are very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure that the site ran smoothly the whole time we were there even directing the cars to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
We arrived in the wind and rain and the easy choice of pitch next to the road and near the pool and toilets was most welcome as was the help of the other campers in pitching the tents and Gazebo! Thankfully the ground was soft so the pegs went in easily. Had we wanted to pitch a bit further away we were offered help by having our tents and luggage transported in a trailer towed by a tractor as the grass was too wet to take cars. Several families took up the offer and seemed to have fun riding in the trailer!
This is a lovely site with sea views and easy walking distance to a magnificent sandy bay with dunes. The site has its’ own swimming pool that the children enjoyed. No dogs are allowed on site which suited me as I don’t own one. The walk to the beach was down a narrow lane with some interesting little cottages, including one that was lived in by John Wesley, but had it been any wider the cars would have just been travelling faster and there would be more of them which would spoil the charm of the place. Lots of other great beaches can be reached a short drive from the site. There is a ruined castle nearby that you can see from the site and that was worth a walk up to even though the route was very steep. From the castle there are other extensive walks along the point and back down to the old church and the beach. A good place to see wildlife, particularly birds, and on a clear evening we were able to star watch. The Gower Heritage Centre nearby offered a good afternoons worth of entertainment but is directed more to the pre-teen age child. Swansea has a Millets and Blacks as well as Argos for any camping accessories that you need during your stay as well as a large shopping centre. There is also a big Tesco opposite the Marina which is handy as the local shop to the site was horrendously expensive and I would strongly recommend that you only use it for dire emergencies. Also near the Marina is a swimming baths with water slides and a museum that is free to get in and which we used one wet afternoon. Malcolm, the site manager directed us to a local pub called the ‘Countryman’ one evening when it was raining and this pub offered children’s entertainment and also food if we had wanted it. The Gower Inn is also a short drive from the site and serves food but is more of a Carvery type pub.
The toilets and showers on the site were always clean and 20p for the hot water in the showers easily lasted long enough. As we enjoyed ourselves so much we actually extended our stay by two more nights which was not a problem to book on a daily basis. However, because it was so wet it would have been useful to have a washing machine on site as I started to run out of clothes for the children. There is a tumble drier which was useful to dry the hand washed clothes. No paper is left in the toilets and no soap by the basins but I got round that by giving my children their own bag with paper and a bottle of hand wash which I think they quite enjoyed the responsibility of. The site office has ice packs to rent for your cool box to help keep food fresh. The site has a policy of quiet at night which I didn’t see being enforced because the other campers respected it. There are no set pitches, which means you can camp anywhere, but people seemed to respect our space and didn’t camp right on top of us. Apart from the swimming pool there were no other play facilities which meant that our children had to use their imaginations to make up games to play in the large grass area between the tents. They even got us adults to join in a skipping contest which was great fun. Much better than any electronic console!
All in all a great place to camp if you like nature and the simple things in life and are prepared to make your own fun whatever the weather! A thumbs up from my son and my daughter says it is a good place to camp. We would be quite happy to go back again.

Just got back from 2 nights here. Very well organised and well looked after site. Although we arrived after rain (so the cars couldn't be parked on the fields), the campsite provided a tractor with trailer to carry everyones gear backwards and forwards whilst setting up and thus ensuring the fields didn't get ridiculously churned up. Showers at 20p a go were consistently hot, clean and queue free. Same with the washing up facilities. Clean toilets. Nice little outdoor swimming pool for the kids. Relaxed atmosphere. Negatives would be the place doesn't take cards so you have to go out for cashpoints. No electric hookups available. The local beach is about 10 minutes walk away (25 with toddlers lol) Staff/owners? actively encourage people to quieten down after 11 - there is a no noise policy after this, but this is done in a really polite, common sense kind of way, which means happy campers all round. I enjoyed my short stay here.

Excellent site. Near to beach, lovely part of Wales, friendly hosts made us feel welcome from arrival. The only down side was that a week was not enough, a month would have been better for this part of Wales.
Kids liked the pool on site and the toilets and clothes washing and drying facilities were great.
There was no on site shop but the local shop in Oxwich is 5 minutes away.
There is a good array of local beaches, if you don't want to go far Oxwich is a 5 minute walk, if you want more secluded 3 cliffs is stunning.
The week we were there it rained non stop but even that did not dampen our spirits and we have just booked to return this summer.

I was fortunate enough to be able to get a reservation for the second May BH weekend after phoning the booking office at the beginning of the month, having thought l'd left it too late, but Malcolm (the site manager) calmly assured me there was plenty of space. My wife & l arrived late Friday afternoon & were warmly met by Malcolm who advised us on the site facilities, local attractions, etc, & we were soon pitching our tent on the upper field. The campsite is lovely & grassy with soft ground (where we were) so we didn't bend any tent pegs fortunately! The ablution blocks were always nice & clean & 20p bought you 7 minutes of hot water that was plenty for showering & washing your hair. Hot water, too, for doing the dishes was 20p again for 10 minutes or so but other campers who had already finished their washing up were more than happy to let you have the remainder of their water. Carol, Malcolm's wife, did a daily site patrol & was always willing to say hello & stop for a warm chat when passing. A 5-10 minute walk down the road bought you to a pleasant little shop with emergency supplies (bread, milk, camping gas, etc) & the lovely delicacy Welsh cakes & all manner of other supplies, nick-nacks, etc. The tide was out when we arrived at the local beach just across the road from the shop & it too seemed nice enough. The pool at the campsite was obviously warmer than the sea as when we arrived back at the site after a day out visiting local attractions (3 Cliffs Bay is delightful!) it was well populated but clean & tidy all the same. With not having children l am uncertain if there are any other facilities (swings, jungle gym, sandpit, etc) for youngsters apart from the pool but there was always space for kicking a ball about, playing a spot of cricket, badminton, etc. Upon leaving on the Monday our £10 deposit for the site ticket / pass was returned with assurances given to Carol & Malcolm that we would be returning later in the year as we had thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks guys for lovely, warm hospitality in a very beautiful part of the country! Well recommended!

Lovely site, well positioned for the beach and very quiet resort of Oxwich, a 10 minute stroll along a narrow lane was the only minor disadvantage.
I wouldn't have wanted to run up there in a motorhome or caravan (not allowed anyway) as this is a local bus route despite is diminutive dimensions (the lane that is). Although, plenty of motorhomes did get on site.
Owners friendly and welcoming and always willing to raise a smile.
Spotlessly clean despite it being a very busy weekend.
Swimming pool was a winner for the kids.
No dogs which was great !
A shop on site selling a few basic essentials would have been a nice touch
Will definitely go back :0)

We searched UKcampsite website very thoroughly before deciding on this site. We liked that no dogs allowed considering our daughter is weary of them, and also unhappy other sites had dogs walking off lead.
The first time camping for the family- I haven't camped for 25 yrs. Stayed Mon- Fri prior to the B/H weekend. Two & half days of rain and two & half of warm sun.
Cars kept on site road- sensible to stop the field being churned, and safer for kids to runaround.
Toilets very clean- no queueing (had previous worry about this). Own toilet roll system not a problem; we had seperate girls and boys gym style bag to carry the roll, soap, hand towel etc so no advertising our destination.
Showers- very clean and HOT water, 20p for 10 mins ample and lovely to warm- kids appreciated this after their morning swim.
Dishwashing- 20p for 10 mins- again no queueing sometimes able to use the previous users water.
Swimming pool- small but sufficient for the kids. They progressed from 10 mins (raining and cold) to 40 mins last day.(Tip- get them into the hot shower straight from the pool- never been cleaner)
Management- helpful and welcoming. Hired freezer packs for 30p each day. Also 20p use of tumble dryer- helpful for wet towels/ clothes. We had a wasp problem which they kindly gave some decoy suggestions. Turned out the wasp were Wales wide so we hadn't pitched under a nest!
Beach- 10 mins walk away. Easier to take the car(if loads of equipment)-starts in the early morning at £3.50 reducing during the day. Beach lovely- numerous rockpools, vast level sands, sand dunes to explore, good food hut- had piping hot fish & chips in the beach tent.
Oxwich Bay Hotel expensive to eat in the evening- food not up to much and service appalling- staff remained silent and unsmiling while removing plates which hadn't been finished!
Shop/cafe opposite beach car park handy but expensive. Couldn't see cash register display to see what/ which prices being run up.
Overall: Fri when we left was filling up. Would recommend this site- peaceful and low key. I suggested we view others while in the area- husband didn't want to- happy to return here next year.
