Stayed here one week of absolutely perfect weather. The site was clean well kept and regularly monitored by the owners.
The main site with electric hookups is on the opposite side of the road to Carrog Station. It has hardstandings and a shop situated in the owners on site caravan. Being out of the main school holidays the shop was rarely open. The larger site without hookups is opposite, adjacent to the railway station, this seemed to be used mainly for rallies and basic camping.
The local pub is excellent and at 300 yds easily walkable. The steam railway to Llangollen is an ideal way to visit without the problems of parking.
Llangollen is almost exclusively a tourist spot, there are food provision shops but few and far between. The more practical place for local shopping is Corwen, about two miles from Carrog.
The toilet facilities are in the corner of an open barn, or in the field opposite a mobile toilet unit which we did not use. The toilets are clean adequate and basic. When the site is full they may be very busy.
Overall an excellent site for campers who do not require showers.

Lovely campsite and owners are very helpful. Right by the steam railway, if you have never travelled or seen one, this site is a must for you, really had a great break away from it all.
Even all the locals are very friendly too,
Great for walks but best of all I shared all this with my lovely girlfriend. Would go back again.
Even so the site has no showers, toilets are spotless n checked regularly. With hot water as well

This is our 1st review! New motorhome and this was our maiden campsite visit. Chosen as it was close to home, 1 hour away in some beautiful countryside.
Facilities were clean and regularly checked, shame no showers, but not that we needed them!
A pub (the grouse inn) just over the river, 300m's away had reasonable food and seemed busy and friendly.
Ideal location for walking up in the hills either side of the A5.

Site is situated right next to the steam railway, a bit back from the main A5 so no road noise just the odd train and they stop by 5pm.
There are 3 fields, main one seemed to be for motorhomes and caravans, another very large field across the lane which was busy with tents and campervans and a third smaller field for tents on which cars and dogs are not allowed.
As previous reviews have said no showers, 4 toilets built in the barn - kept very clean despite site being busy. Believe there is a further couple of toilets on the big campig field.
There is a fresh water point outside the barn along with a washing up sink and recycling facilities. An Elsan point on the main field too.
The site was busy but very peaceful, no noise in the evening despite one of the hotest weekends of the year.
£10 for a campervan + £3 for ehu - bargain. Would recommend this site for a couple of days as plenty to see and do in the area.

What a gem! spent one night here right next to the river. The site sits on both sides of the lane. A few hook ups on either side but plenty of camping space for those happy in lantern light and absence of TV.
The wide open space in a field with a basic toilet block was barely full and we managed to find a secluded spot beside a gorgeous old Oak. Very charming to hear the sounds of the steam trains stopping at the station.
Just a five minute walk to the Grouse pub. V. Friendly staff and a decent menu served to 10pm. Dogs welcome and children. Great beer. The pub is tiny but has a generous outdoor area for larger groups.
The very best pitch in the pub is to be sat in the little bay window looking over the valley. Even in the drizzle the view is special. As if someone has turned up the green in the picture.
The staff were casual and friendly and a nice neat little set up. Ideal for walkers or those that like the big outdoors even in the rain.

The location is a walkers paradise. There are four toilets in all, including two disabled toilets. No showers but ok if you are in a caravan and have your own shower.
Camping field for tents no cars or dogs allowed in this section.
My only complaint is that one regular caravanner seems to think that the middle section of the campsite is her dogs own personal toilet! even when there were tents and caravans pitched there.
Twice a day she took her dog to the middle and let it foul, granted she did pick it up but I do not think this is acceptable so because of this
I would not return, which is a shame because it`s in a great location.
