If you are a nervous trourer then this may not be the campsite for you, as small teeny country roads and steep hills are some of the roads leading up to the site. It is worth it when you get there though. When we arrived we were too late for the reception to be open, so we rang the warden and the told us where to pitch. The pitch was on the first row of caravans right in a small corner, we rang the warden and he let us choose another pitch when we explained our van would not fit in the corner and quite frankly it was quite tatty and uneven. We soon realised the further in you got the nicer the pitches, from 30 upwards. We paid £10 deposit for the showers, which are in a lovely block and are very big with a separate bit to get dressed in. My only quibble is that the showers must have been put up by the jolly green giant as they were that high the shower went straight onto the other side of the cubicle and completely missed my body and hit my head, I am 5ft 2 inches tall. There are a couple of parks set out for the kids. We went for a walk, setting off through the dog walk and finding numerous walks around fields, woods and rivers. There are plenty of public foot paths and loads of countryside to investigate. It really is a nice area. We drove into Clitheroe, which is a nice small town and later on we went to Waddington, this had two lovely pubs, food looked gorgeous and very full. We saw numerous taxi s dropping off if you fancy a night out round Clitheroe, which is full of restaurants and bars. The park has its own clubhouse which we popped in for a drink, it's a little dated but found it friendly and ok. There is a swimming pool which we did not go into but plenty of the kids on the site had a visit for a small charge. We would definitely go again if in the area.

Our family stayed in our touring caravan for 3 nights over the early May Bank Holiday, but will not be returning.

We were allocated a pitch that turned out to be in the middle of a group of commercial travellers vans (Dutch and German). The pitches are small anyway, but we had a trailer parked in the middle of the allocated pitch and this group just did not have enough space for their large caravans, extra cars, and extra trailers. After a phone call to the warden we negotiated a different pitch. Next door but one was a caravan and awning with 8 people in it, two families. They set off for the bar at 6pm Sat eve and returned drunk. We were woken by the men shouting, the women screaming and the children crying at 2am. All the surrounding vans were woken up and the warden was called. In fairness he turned out at 02:15am and had words with them.

We found the showers were not cleaned for the entire weekend (cotton wool buds and rubbish remained on the floor throughout). Come Monday morning there was no toilet roll in any of the three men's toilets (one out of order). This is not what we expect for £30 a night!

The pitch was scruffy and had nails, screws and old bits of pegs/rubbish on it - the place is just not cared for.

This site served as a great reminder why we like Caravan Club sites so much.

We've been coming here for five years, sure it's not on par with Haven sites for facilities but it makes up for that with an excellent location and fantastic hardworking staff. However what was once a reasonably priced site for tents, with pitches for a 4 berth at around £21 an night, as now increased to a whopping £35 a night from Monday 7th July. I'm afraid this puts it's prices on par with much better equipped parks nearby and either the new owners don't want campers or they think by increasing the price it will somehow increase the profits.

I just wanted to say if you are thinking about going to Three Rivers and hesitating because of the poor reviews, then donít hesitate any longer. We have just returned from a two night stay at Three Rivers and it really is a fab little site. The staff are friendly and helpful, there is a pool (it has a lifeguard 9-30 Ė 11-30 & 1 Ė 4 also it is absolutely boiling!); two play areas, nature area, oodles of space on the camping fields and a well used clubhouse with bar. It is really family friendly and there is a really happy relaxed feel to the place; the facilities are great including plenty of hot water, clean toilets and a little shop; you can have BBQís as long as they are off the ground. We met a few families who are regular users of the site, including a large group who have been going to Three Rivers for 5 years. We certainly intend to return ourselves.

I really donít think it deserves some of the reviews it has on here; we almost didnít book it as they seemed pretty dreadful. My only criticisms are; I did think the EHU looked quite squashed together and I think it might be a hideous site if the weather is bad, as some of the ground looks prone to being boggy. The clubhouse is dated (as is the shop) and it is a tad pricey for non-electric camping, seeing as it is just an unmarked field and the charge was based on the no. Of berths not no. Of people. That said that isnít that unusual if you have a big tent (ours is 8 berth) we paid £34 for a night.

This is a great countryside park good location a hard standing touring pitch coming in at around £18 per night its good value as well. Ok its a nice setting it has grass pitches and hardstanding for caravans and has good facilities modern showers & toilets very good, launderette, shop, swimming pool, 2 parks for the kids, nature reserve area, club house and all amenities like chemical disposal sinks etcetera. The people are very friendly on the site. First I took my kids to the swimming pool where you have to pay £3 for an adult and a little less for kids but there is no lifeguard so the kids are under your supervision at all times. It has 2 little wooden adventure playgrounds what our joe loved. The club house is a little dated now but I like it that way there was an adult bar and a family room, The adult bar didn't have any entertainment but they were big on football and even stayed open late for the late night games. On Saturday night they had an entertainer on for the kids called nick he was fantastic he had us in stitches now for the bad bit. If you like a few pints in the bar and you have a family suddenly this becomes an expensive site for you with a pint of fosters rolling in at £3. 20 also one lad ordered a Guinness it was over £4 a pint, very painful. It can be a little noisy on the camping fields but it didn't bother us also they have a warden patrol after 10pm at night. My other little niggle is the chemical waste is a long way from the pitches so really you need a sack truck if your on the top pitches to get your thetford cassette there. All in all the sites good but the club house is expensive I will return to the site as it is good but not go in the club house.

Site: First impressions very busy but looked well kept and tidy - wrong. Clubhouse, family bar, pool, shop and toilet block could all do with an update, very shabby and not particularly clean. Pitches ok but small and very cramped if you put up an awning.

Staff: Very friendly and very helpful and people on the the site friendly too.

Playground: Two playgrounds great for the kids but as stated previously a problem with dog dirt and this was present all over the site.

A bit of a makeover and more space between pitches would make this a much better site.
