Very scenic and well-laid out making the most of a steep hill. Each pitch between hedges with it's own pic-nic bench/table etc.

Good shop

Lots of rabbits for our dog to watch.

Easy 10 mins walk down to village with 2 dog -friendly pubs and reasonable prices.

Nice woodland walks above site.

Some steep climbs for the less fit.

Relatively expensive.

Pitches too short for Motorhomes exceeding say 21 feet in length.

Stayed here with friends; we camped others had lodges or used their camper vans.

The site is meticulously tidy and well kept, the staff are all very friendly and the facilities are brilliant. There is even a wee shop selling basics and fresh bread at good prices. At 22/night for a pitch I'd say that was great value. Every pitch includes electric hookup and showers are also included in the cost. Arranged like the hanging gardens of Babylon, I'd say there wasn't a single site / pitch at the same elevation throughout.

I guess my disappointment was with the camping pitches which, whatever the site says, are only grassy on the perimeter and otherwise bare gravel-like substrate for the rest. This really gets everywhere if you aren't careful and will definitely shorten your groundsheet's life if you don't use a full groundsheet protector. We had the biggest pitch on the site 8x8m; the rest are all much smaller and would only really accommodate an average family tent before you fell off the the side of the pitch.

Overall it feels like the camping pitches are an addition rather than a reason. Some of them are right next to the road and others are by the entrance and would suffer from constant glare as traffic enters the site. The road adjacent isn't very busy so, in that respect, we didn't suffer from any noise sufficient to disturb our sleep.

If you rent a lodge / static van, have a tourer or camper van you will give this site 10/10. As a camper I can only give it 6/10; the 4 missing points being due to the gravel pitches.

Lovely site. Excellent facilities. All clean and well maintained. Nice friendly welcome at reception. Staff really helpful. They came across as people who liked what they were doing.

It's an interesting site on a hill, but pitches are level because it's all terraced. I liked this site a lot and would definitely recommend. There are lovely woodland walks nearby, 2 nice pubs in Kippford and you can walk along the estuary and enjoy the views too. Couldn't fault this site.

Very nicely kept site - recommended to us by the Ironman athlete butcher in Dalbeattie. Nicely laid out on several levels with walks to Kippford and the coast and easy access to the forest and cycle routes. Nice toilet blocks and a great wee shop that sold really tasty fresh croissants each morning.

It was a bit pricey at 24 a night for 2 in a small motorhome but otherwise little to criticize at all.

A really well laid out site with individual level pitches with many screened by shrubs and trees. This is a big site with many statics and lodges but the lay out means it is still pleasantly secluded.

Our pitch was fairly close to the road and although this is just a minor road to Kippford there was some noise from early in the morning. Recommend you request a pitch a way from the road.

Toilet showers are good and there are plentiful water and waste points.

This Park probably gets busy with families during the summer holidays but we visited in June when it was relatively quiet. There are play areas with zip wire and swings etc and also forest walks which connect up to forest trails all the way to the coast.

Kippford itself is a delightful little seaside village with moorings and small harbour. A couple of shops and pubs make it a very pleasant visit. You can walk the cost to the next village of Rockcliff.

Just returned home after a great week at Kippford. The site is a credit to everyone involved and the staff work so hard to keep it immaculate.

When we arrived we had a poor TV signal but the warden helped us by pass the dodgy booster so we got a neat aerial feed.

Wifi is excellent on a laptop but a bit slow on iPads. The washrooms are fine and kept clean regularly.

The little shop is great and stocks all the papers every day with no need to pre-order. They also sell essential like bread milk and eggs.

Our pitch (number 3) was excellent with screening on both sides. We also had easy access to the gate to be able to walk down the lane to Kippford.

Kippford itself is gorgeous and is the place I would love to live. Two pubs Mariners and Anchor, we preferred The Mariners with excellent food and its dog friendly too.

The site is central to most of the area and easily accessible by roads. Fuel is keenly priced ( got hammered in North Wales last month at 10p a litre dearer than home).

All in all an excellent site and it gets the big thumbs up from me and yes we will definitely return
