Spent 3 nights here so we could visit York City which is about 20 mins steady drive away. Very nice couple manage the site, and show you to a concrete pad (laid out for statics I think ) Nicely mown lawn and low hedges, with about 8 of these pads available at time of writing. The rest of site is filled with statics but nicely hidden behind hedges and large spacing. Key pad secure gate at night, toilet/shower/washup/washing machine all new and good as was most of the site.
Charges with EHU was £17.50/night.
If you need car park in York for motorhome use St, Georges Field, which is to the left when entering city and follow the Fosse to the River Ouse. £10 for all day but we did find the machines randomly jumped several hours when it got to £8. Most of the other c/parks have barriers and no over nighting anywhere. Thoroughly enjoyed the Dungeon, the Viking centre, Tesco or CCC discounts apply and the Rail museum is free. The ghost walks at night are a bit of fun at £4-5/adult.

This was our 1st experience of camping, but what a pleasant surprise. We arrived at the park to be greeted by the owner, who showed us where to pitch. Throughout our stay the site wardens were happy to help and were at hand at all times. The campsite itself is pretty small and mostly for static caravans that stay all year - but this isn't a bad thing, because they all seem to look out for one another. There was plenty of room around our tent which gave our 12 month old daughter plenty of room to crawl about
Everyone was pleasant and because it is such a small site (about 12-15 tents), you are always going to be near the toilet/shower blocks etc. The toilets and showers were kept spotless and at just 20p a shower for about 5mins this was well enough. I don't mind paying for something if it is kept clean! There is also washing facilitates on site £1.50 for a full load (which we had to use, due to our daughter being sick), the owners let us use their line and also provided us with some wash powder (as we had forgotten ours)! so all in all a lovely weekend away and top marks for this site. Would definitely go back.

This is one of the best kept sites I have ever been on in 5 years. The toilet and shower block are 5* and cleaned more than once a day. There is a 20p charge for shower although it lasted long enough to shower and wash very long hair. Good pot washing area and washer & dryer available. There are some rules to site (no football but soft ball games allowed) no bikes to be ridden on site. The owner is very friendly and so are the site wardens.
This is a very we kept site and if your children are well behaved not bothering other campers and running round vans late at night then the rules wont bother you. I have 2 children girl 8 & boy 10 and had no problems at all will definitely go back again. This is how a site should be as we all go away to enjoy ourselves but kids riding bikes round caravans & tents, and kicking footballs around is not every ones cup of tea. Good park & ride service into york 10min away (would recommend). Transport museum free for a good day out. Site 10 out of 10. Cleanliness of toilet block 12 out of 10 (will take some to find better)

We visited the site the last weekend in October, and it was very quiet. The site owner and the wardens were very friendly and the site was lovely and clean.
There appear to be two fields - one with statics and one mainly for tourers, though there were also some statics in this field. The field for tourers has some seasonal pitches around the outside and plenty of space for others in the middle. Plenty of hook ups available and the site was nice and level. It was late in the season so there were very few other people on the site. The facilities were adequate and the showers lovely and hot. It was easy to find and an straight forward journey to the park and ride into York.
I will visit again if I want to go back to York.

Arrived on site and we were instantly helped to our pitch. We were asked if it was okay which it was. This is a very nice site, flat and easy to get on. The toilets and showers kept clean at all times. There is a separate field where the kids were able to run around and play football. Very welcoming site. Worth going will definitely return.

On arrival Austin could not have been more cheerful and helpful. He saw that I had three children and asked if we would like to be near the toilet block. We said yes and were put on a pitch at the top of the site.
The site is very quiet - note that ball games are not allowed. Gliders from nearby Pocklington are hauled up by small planes, the only real noise to disturb you. We had wonderful weather, which certainly helped. Jean the resident site warden also helped any way that she could. I strongly recommend this site to anyone that is looking for peace and quiet. My wife, and my family, will be returning real soon.
