Set in very nice surroundings with very friendly staff. Within easy reach of civilisation (about 1/2 mile walk to St Columb). We had a brand new shower block with everything you need so couldn't ask for more really. This was cleaned every morning we were there. Nice outdoor pool, well stocked shop and even a small library!

Very reasonably priced and we will definitely be going there again. The management are flexible as to where to pitch so if you see one you like, its yours!

This was our first visit to Trewan Hall. Having stayed at 'Friendly Club' sites for many years with our kids, we wanted somewhere that would have a bit more to do but would have assured standards that a C&CC Club site could offer. We weren't disappointed:

At the centre of the site is Trewan Hall itself, with a large games / event field in front of it. To the side is the events barn - which, the week we stayed had a variety of local performers from a brass band to a jazz band to an animal show. Given that we stayed during the Olympics, some of the main events were projected onto a large screen. Next to the Barn is a computer games room, with 20p for 5 mins of playing time.

We were slightly concerned that the evening entertainment would produce noise across the site, but it didn't and we enjoyed attending some of what was offered.

Nearby is the amazingly well-stocked and not too expensive shop / reception desk, which is open from 8. 30am to 10pm and staffed by relaxed and friendly staff, also providing heated-up food, etc. And tokens for access to the swimming pool (see below).

There is a good kids play area and various other games / ping-pong rooms. Situated nearby - all for good family playing or for space for teens, etc.

There is an great laundry area with 3 machines which offered 3 per wash but included soap & softener automatically and took just over 1/2 hour per load. There were also two large and effective tumble dryers plus drying racks.

There are essentially two camping fields situated either side of the main facilitates. The non-electric field was nearer these, but looked more crowded, though I was assured by one of the campers that it was very friendly.

The 'Calves Close' area where we stayed offers electric pitches and is about a 5min walk through a forest from the main centre. This had loads of space but its worth noting that most of it is slightly sloped so pitching our tent needed considerable thought. Its also fairly exposed to the wind but we pitched in the shelter of the forest so were provided with some shelter from the prevailing SW wind. The field was fairly well drained.

The toilet facilitates here were all individual and thoroughly cleaned every day but got very muddy after rain. This block is being rebuilt over the winter of 2012/13 and the new facilitates proposed should be an improvement.

The swimming pool is nearer this side of the site and proved to be good. Tokens had to be purchased from the shop for 50p. Its worth noting that this is per entry per person not per day - though it cost nothing to watch. There is a lifeguard on permanent duty which meant our kids aged 9 - 16 could play without needing our consistent supervision. The pool was open 10am - 6pm. During our visit the cover was never applied despite some awful weather, because of an Olympic 'event' - which meant that we had the experience of swimming in the pool in the rain. The changing / shower facilitates are dated but adequate.

The library in Trewan Hall is chaotic but dry and used by many people for checking e-mail on their laptops!

With two teenagers and two pre-teens, our experience was one of relaxed freedom with enough but not too much for our kids to do.

The weather was poor for the first half of our visit but the campsite meant we weren't stuck for activity. The site's location means that the beach is a short drive away. When we did get to the beach we found parking to be a nightmare and almost went back to the site! This being north Cornwall the beaches are all a windy paradise for body boarding / surfing.

Although we have now camped for many years, the weather this year (again!) means that we really are unsure of camping in the UK again - but if we do, we would certainly consider going back to Trewan Hall. Though they are leaving the C&CC this year so we will have to see what happens to the pricing structure - which already wasn't very competitive compared to other commercial sites.

It was our third time at Trewan - so we must like it. It is a warm and friendly site with a good shop which is reasonably priced.

We were in calfs field which has the old shower / toilet block which although old are clean and adequate. There are plans for a new block to be built for the start of next season.

They are planning on leaving the C&CC at the end of this year.

We had an ehu pitch so there were 4 units attached to the post so you end up well spaced out and not regimented, also gives you the ability to let the grass recuperate.

Took come Canadian friends with us for two weeks and we all had a fabulous time.

The grounds surrounding the house are lovely and beautifully maintained and landscaped.

The entertainment in the evening was very good indeed and included a jazz band, rock band and a brass band. All of a very high standard.

The father of the chap that runs the site was very helpful and friendly and went out of his way to help us to sort various issues (solely issues of our own making I hasten to add). He is also responsible for organizing the great evening entertainment.

Plenty of toilets and showers that were always clean. A few of the showers not in the main block ran luke-warm at peak times though so go for the ones in the main block. Showers had curtained off area to avoid getting your towels etc. Wet.

The shop is well-stocked, reasonably priced and open all day. Fresh bread and papers daily. Also has a supply of emergency camping equipment too, very handy.

Very well located for great beaches, the Camel Trail and Padstow.

We hope to return next year.

Lovely site, our 3rd visit. Grounds & building are stunning.

Pitch where you want, as long as you leave a 6m distance between next unit. The feel of the site is relaxing, evening entertainment by local artists, all very entertaining.

A few people have mentioned the toilet/showers, ok they are basic but clean, plenty of hot water & very in keeping of the landscape & site.

The site shop is well stocked has fresh bread etc each morning & daily papers, in our 3 visits we have found the staff to be lovely warm people who will do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable.

The local village has a chippie, super bakers shop & a co-op. I'm sure we will visit this site many more times in the future.

Not a bad site. The tent fields were good. Plenty of space on the EH field and fairly quiet.

The swimming pool was good to have on site as the weather was not the best. It was covered and heated and for 50p was great to have.

The toilet block on the EH field was particularly poor. They are so old they must be original toilets when they were built many years ago. You could hear what everyone was doing even six or seven cubicles up. They were cleaned but not the most up to date.

The sky at night was superb. Clear and twinkling. When it was not raining.

Loads to do for kids and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
