This has been our second stay at Plough Lane, with our third stay already booked for 2016. I think the only minus is the proximity to a major road, but that is only an issue if you want a lie-in in the morning. However, that is off-set by the fact that access too, and finding the site is very easy.

Plough lane is a very well kept by Helen and Roger, well laid out and overall a really great site to stay. We have stayed on both standard and fully serviced pitched and both are spacious and well spaced. The facilities as others have said are excellent and well kept with some lovely touches in the ladies loo and music too. I think the Plough Lane information pack has got to be the best we have seen and is packed with all sorts of information the visitor will find useful.

There are also so many places to visit nearby, so get your map out and plan your visit.

Just spent a very pleasant week at Plough Lane - we had fantastic weather!

The site is well signposted and we were greeted upon arrival and given full instructions along with a very comprehensive guide to the site and local area. The guide was very useful!

A very well presented and designed site with immaculate toilet and shower facilities, located very close to a main road ( road noise minimal) within close proximity of chippenham. The site is ideally located to visit lots of places of interest, both locally and a bit further afield if you wish.

Satellite reception on site was excellent as was the free wifi.

Local shops at Morrisons about a 5 minute drive away with Sainsbury's a bit further and lots of other shops in chippenham itself including Tesco.

Pitches were more than adequate for caravan and awning and car. Dog walk on site was brilliant. Lots of bunnies first thing in a morning!

Places we visited:

Castle Coombe - very very beautiful place, really worth a visit. - has to be the prettiest place I have ever visited.

Bath - a must for culture and historical about a 20-25 minute journey well worth it

Lack abbey and village - film location for many movies and tv programmes, very pretty owned by the national trust so membership an advantage.

Avebury stone circle - very interesting place again owned by national trust

Weston supermare - We had the good weather so spent a day at the beach - nice town with all the usual shops and facilities- about an hours drive though, but we couldn't take the dogs on holiday without going to the beach.

Cotswold wildlife park - this again was about an hours drive from the site but well worth it. We found this park in the information provided by plough lane and we were stunned by the fact that we could take the dogs with us( this was a big bonus)- we had a really good time at this park. Lots of animals you don't normally see, plus the dogs loved it too. There were a couple of areas within the park that dogs couldn't go but on the whole it was such find!

We travelled to the park from the north down the a46 via cirencester. Whilst this was a very pretty route to take it was hindered by lots of junctions, roundabouts and hills (and I mean big hills), not a problem going down but going up again was problematic. We chose to return via the M5 which took a little bit longer but was definitely worth it for more frequent stops with more services and less hills.

Would we go again - definitely the site is a real gem in a good location for visiting an array of interesting places and towns.

Good access, good facilities well maintained, but for us the 24/7 road noise from the nearby A350 dual carriageway was too much. Boots Muffles wax earplugs recommended at night.

Arrived to a warm welcome late afternoon on Friday 11th September.

We booked a serviced hardstanding pitch for 3 nights.

Wonderful attention to detail began when we received an email a week before our arrival asking if we had any special requests right up to receiving the welcome pack supplied when booking in. Great innovation. More please!

Cannot praise the cleanliness of the facilities highly enough and although the men's toilet block housed only 2 showers, with an additional one when cleaning in progress, I never saw a queue.

Fairly regular bus service close by though you'll need to cross a busy dual carriageway to get to Malmesbury.

Ate Sunday lunch at The Plough. Food cheap and cheerful served in the pleasant restaurant conservatory.

I would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your beautiful quiet caravan park. On arrival we were given a folder with information on absolutely everything. Where the supermarkets are, pubs, places of interest and page after page of everything we could possibly wish for. The free wifi was a fantastic bonus for us. We had such a wonderful holiday using the site as a base for our day trips to Cheddar Gorge and The Forest of Dean. The site is within reach of the most beautiful villages and towns and we visited the 17 locks on the river. I used your Disabled ‘Facilities’ once during our stay. Beautifully clean and fresh with a ‘Disability shower’ and my husband told me that the ‘gents’ was very clean with shower gel and shampoo supplied and a very nice aftershave available.

We will certainly love to visit your site again next year, thank you for all your hard work,

Colin Peck

I have been to this site quite a few times now each time the standard has been high. Yes there is road noise but it certainly is not that loud that it keeps you awake, as for the cows and the smell what can I say for goodness sake you are in the country. The plough inn does really good food (the mixed grill is enormous ) my husband recommends the steak and ale pie. The site itself is so easy to get to from the M4 no narrow lanes and there is so much to see and do. Helen and Roger the owners are always happy to have a chat and give you information about the area. When you arrive you are given a folder with so much information in it about the local area and further afield you keep this until you leave. I can't think of a nicer site than this and I WILL be coming back road noise and all
