I have visited Northam Farm several times. I keep going back is because of the very friendly staff.

The security on the site is very good, not only has it a main guard on the gates at night but also vans touring the site daily at various times.

The food at the chip shop is always very nice, you get a large portion of chips and they are proper chips!

The shower blocks are always very clean although you have to pay for a 50p for a shower which lasts about 8 mins (the water is always just right) and for a bath is £1. If you want to wash your hair there is facilities for this at 20p per wash and there are sockets for your own hairdryer.

The site is always clean and well maintained but parts can become water logged in very wet weather.

There are Three main children's parks which are well maintained but a bit of a walk if your not sighted in that field.

It would be nice to have a park in each field, so you could keep an eye on your children while they play, even if it is in one corner so other campers still get their peace and quiet if they want it.

The dog walks are kept dog mess free, as campers are urged to pick up their own dogs mess and there are plenty of dog bins around to ensure this.

There is a launderette on site and washing up facilities with hot water for dishes. Plus a well stocked shop.

There are lots of electrical hookups, in fact more hookups per pitch than not.

If I had to write anything bad about this site it would be that because the site is so big the shower blocks and children's parks are quite a distance away, and for any entertainment you have to go off site which is a pain if you have trouble walking!

There is lots to do within Brean you have lots of pubs that are dog/child friendly. The beachcomber makes excellent meals and also has a kids club with games and prizes most evenings with a live singer/entertainer for the adults as well.

The seagull also has entertainment and makes food but is very large and imposing. The funfair is good value if you can get the half price wrist bands.

There are also lots of places of interest to visit Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and clarks village to name a few.

What a lovely site. Be aware this site is huge! On arrival we were given an information pack about the site but it also had information on local attractions. Brean is a short walk away I'd say approx10mins. The beach is about the same distance. Pitches were all well maintained and you had a choice of pitch. We stayed on a hard standing no dog field.

There were well stocked lakes ideal for fishermen. Shop on site was well stocked and cheap. Chip shop was of a high standard. All staff were extremely helpful and security were visible at all times. Childrens playgrounds were bright and modern.

Showers are 50p each but well worth it. Toilet blocks were exceptionally clean at all times and I stayed over a bank holiday when every pitch was taken. The only thing the site does not have is wifi which I find odd for such a big site. This was the first time we'd stayed but am sure we'll return time and time again.

Stayed on this site over the bank holiday with my husband and 3 children 6, 3 and 1. It was extremely busy - it is a huge site! The site is extremely well maintained and is not overpriced we paid £22 per night for non elec. The pitches are flat, the parks are excellent very clean and modern, the toilets and showers are very clean and warm (50p for 6 mins shower) and the toddler toilet/wash facilities are a lovely touch. I was able to bath my toddler in the huge sink with a shower above and this is free to use.

The staff are really friendly, they do charge for phone charging etc (60p) and for ice pack freezing (20p) but they are very helpful.

The cafe and chip shop is well priced and the food is nice too. The shop is well stocked but is a little overpriced so better to find a supermarket if you can.

Loads to do in the local area, club just offsite with children's disco and food which my 3 loved. Lots of people were walking there but it is quite a walk especially if you are at the back of the site where most the camping is.

Our only criticisms would be that the site was very noisy until quite late on the camping fields and noone seemed to be around to sort it out, the large play field was used by teenagers after dark and they were a little noisy sometimes. Also the toilets are in the caravan hardstanding area so it is quite a walk to the toilets from the camping fields.

Great place for a summer holiday though especially with children.

I was worried about the state of the pitches due to the heavy rain but they were in a good state

Lovely staff, clean reception and well stocked shop. Chip shop on site is nice and well priced. Toilets are clean although were a fair walk from my pitch, showers 50p were clean and pleasant.

I was able to hire ice packs at 20p a pack which was great when my own packs started to melt. Security were visible and the parks locked at a reasonable time to prevent too much noise. Great location very close to brean fair and other local attractions.

Overall a great experience, I would return.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Northam Farm, This is our second time staying there and I have to say we love it.

We request to stay in the paddock, You get to choose your own pitch (so arrive early to pick the best).

On site facilities are A* the toilet blocks were always clean and tidy, on site shop was always well stocked, There is no on site entertainment you need to walk down the road approx 5-10 min to the Seagull bar.

If all you are looking for is a peaceful relaxation away from all the noise, then this is the place for you. We will definitely be returning next year this time it will be in a caravan not a tent.

Just returned from a lovely 3 nights at Northam Farm. We managed to book this site at short notice due to recent rains making Warren Farm's field 12, boggy and waterlogged. I rang Northam Farm and they assured me that their non-EHU fields were not waterlogged.

Booking in at reception was very easy and we were given a pack of info and a children's pack with free crayons to keep my son happy!

We were shown to 4 Acre field and were able to choose our own pitch once we got there. The pitches were adequately sized for our 6 man tent and extension and clearly marked. The field was well sheltered and flat.

The field was perfect for those with kids as there is a very large playfield adjoining with a range of play equipment including what looked like a small BMX track! There was also another play area nearer the facility block within easy reach.

The field is quite a way from the reception, shop and takeaway but my son was constantly offering to go there as he was able to ride his bike around the site.

The facility block was a short 4-5 min walk, I would recommend taking a portable loo if you happen to pitch at the far end of the field as you may not fancy the walk at night. I saw some people using their bikes to make it easier. We walked there in the day and used a portaloo at night.

The facility block nearest to us was always clean and looks modern, there are plenty of showers but save your 50p's as you need to pay 50p into the metre before you enter the cubicle. You get about 8mins of hot water for this and the shower cubicles were massive! and clean with a dry area for changing. The only criticism was that there were no hairdryers or sockets in order to use your own. I resorted to the hand dryers to rough dry my hair which was a shame.

The entertainment happens at The Seagull Inn which is 600m from the reception so again is a good walk away. You can park at the sister site where The Seagull Inn is based if you want. We didn't see the entertainment but loved the food which was plentiful and cheap so we went twice. There is a takeaway on site too and apparently does breakfast.

Brean is very touristy which is great if you have kids or like the great British seaside experience but you would not like the area if you do not like amusements, beach shops and endless holiday parks. Having said that, Northam Farm is not brash and tacky and makes up for its immediate surroundings.

We visited Brean Fun Park which also houses a market on Saturdays. We loved the fun fair and thought the wristbands were well worth the money. My 9 year old was tall enough to go on all the rides except one but its worth checking the website if you have younger children.

Chedder gorge is worth visiting. We purchased the explorer ticket including a bus tour with interesting commentary and cave visit. It showed a prettier side of Somerset.

The beach at Brean is massive and worth seeing but we were disappointed with the amount of litter we saw. I guess we are used to our home beaches of Poole and Bournemouth which are usually immaculate but Brean beach is so wide that it is probably very difficult to clean.

All in all, we would definitely recommend a stay at Northam Farm and hope to return to Somerset soon to explore other parts of the county.
