Spending May Day weekend on this superb site. Met on arrival by the owners who are really friendly. Directed to a superb grandstanding. At the moment our grandson is playing in the on site playground with new friends. We have been into Bellingham to look around & shop this morning and up to Kielder Water this afternoon. We went up to Kielder Observatory at 1630 & had we had 30 pounds on us we could have taken in an event. Site facilities are immaculate. This is being uploaded on the free WiFi. After rain last night the pitches still look fine. Take note of travel instructions if towing as the A 68 is not ideal for caravans. The location & scenery is splendid. A short walk down the road takes you to where the Pennine Way joins open country take wellies if going with the pooch as the start is boggy

Unit: Camping pod
The owners were very friendly and helpful when I phoned up to book; I changed our booking and phoned to enquire about the camping pods generally and both people I spoke to were more than helpful.
The pods are great - four of them set in their own little enclosure close to the toilet block and reception. We were given a choice of which one we wanted and plenty of information to inform our choice. With each pod there is a huge storage box (boots, rucksacks etc), a clothes airer (great for towels) plus 2 chairs and a table. The heating was a boon as it was freezing for the first few nights and there isn't a limit to how long you can keep the heater on for :-) There's a nice size decking area which was great for cooking. The owners gave helpful and practical advice about using cookers and barbecues in/near the pod but weren't precious about barbecues as some people can be!
The site itself is immaculate and very well run; the showers, basins and toilets were sparkling (loved the radio playing!) and there's just a general expectation with CC sites that you look after the place - no explosion of notices! There's a few washing up sinks and laundry facilities if you need and a small but swish children's play area. Freezer blocks can be put in at reception, 50p per block per freeze so could get pricey when it's warmer and you need to do a few!
The area is wonderful - Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water (27 mile killer bike ride but good fun!). Then there's the Cheviots, Rothbury (NT Cragside), Alnwick and of course the wonderful Farne Islands and beautiful coastline about 1-1. 5 hours away. The owners were interested that we were heading to the coast and gave us route directions which was a nice friendly touch.
Bellingham itself is a nice little place - lovely bakers and butchers plus a co-op for grocery needs. There's a few other shops to pick up camping stuff too. We didn't eat in any of the pubs although we went for a drink to the nearby hotel which was lovely and they didn't mind at all that we were in walking boots - the food looked nice and fairly reasonably priced.
We really liked this site and the area - the folk at the site were helpful and friendly including the 2 newbies who were being trained up! CC sites always have certain rules and regulations but promote a quiet, calm site, with first class, immaculate facilities. I would certainly recommend this site and would love to visit again at some point - thanks for a lovely stay.

Two weeks Easter Break at Bellingham Campsite Site with immaculate toilets, clean and tidy pitching area with plenty of hard-stands and small shop and playground. 10-15 minutes walk from site in to Bellingham and a number of good pubs and chinese takeway, also a nice carriage converted cafe and Heritage Centre (discounts to both from site reception).
The Riverdale Hotel is within walking distance for meals in restaurant bar (dogs allowed in bar). Bellingham has Hareshaw Linn Waterfall with some fabulous crafted bridges. Kielder water is 9 miles from the site, 27 mile radius with plenty of information / parking / cafes etc. , and also Kielder Observatory being the darkest observatory in the country with nightly open sessions.
Definitely recommend and will be back.

This was the last of four campsites we stayed on during our trip this year and certainly deserves its excellent reviews.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming, the pitch large and immaculately kept. The facilities were modern, clean and tidy, with the nice touch of piped Radio 2 to accompany our ablutions!
Bellingham, with a selection of shops including a Coop which stayed open late, was easily accessible and there were a number of pleasant walks from the campsite.
On site, a dedicated dog walking area was welcome for early morning and late night use! We visited Kielder Water and Hadrian's Wall, both within easy reach of the site.
The only negative point was a small amount of road noise as our pitch was close to the fence.

Could not fault this site, when we arrived our motorhomes engine decided not to start.
The staff came to our help straight away even putting a battery charger on for us.
When we did get sited onto our pitch it was spacious, very well kept and very clean.
The site was immaculate, set in a beautiful location and had a small shop which was well stocked.
Very friendly staff who are on site 24hours,
Will definitely be returning soon.

This is one of the best sites we have ever visited. A warm welcome, spotlessly clean and well organised. This was our first visit but it wont be the last.
During our stay unexpected visitors were arriving from other sites that had been flooded and the managers and their assistants couldn't have been more helpful.
Just a short walk to the village where we received a warm welcome from the locals. Information/Heritage Centre with Rail Carriage Tea Room, run by volunteers, was well worth a visit.
