Brilliant site with stunning views and good facilities. The staff were very helpful both on arrival and during our stay.

The communal space with wood burner was a much appreciated bonus during a very wet week.

The pub, play park and shop are all within walking distance which is also a great asset.

Just returned from a fabulous week here. Amazing views from the top field (no cars allowed apart from arrival and departure means it stays emptier and safer for children - all in all a good thing we felt) of the mountains on the mainland and the ferry coming in and out. So close to the ferry port meant that we drove overnight from Wiltshire, got the 7:45am ferry and were pitched with the kettle on by 10am. You can hear the ping bongs of the ferry (and my phone kept on trying to connect to Calmac WiFi!) but not to a distracting volume. Easy reach of most of Mull. Tobermory (the inevitable Balamory visit with a 5 year old!) Fionnphort for Iona, Ulva ferry port for Ulva and puffin tours and lots of geocaches near by if that's your thing. Craignure stores are super helpful and have a petrol station (cheaper than Shell on the M6 on the way south!) although the stores up the road in Salen are slightly bigger, and Tobermory obviously has more. I can't recommend this site and the whole island highly enough. Only 2 things I would change. 1 is I'd love to have camp fires at pitches, although I recognise that this would bring its own problems, and 2 I'd like to eliminate midges. ;-) Oh and their web site for some odd reason doesn't give the post code. It's PA65 6AY, although you don't really need it to find the site (left out of the ferry, left opp the church and follow round) it is helpful when ordering a birthday card to be sent to site! Am I allowed also to sing the praises of Old Post Office Lochbuie please. They delivered to site to us the most scrummy delicious food for our last night for a quarter of the price of eating out. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for 5 night's and was given a great spot at the front of the site overlooking the sea. The site is minutes from the ferry terminal and is a good base for touring the island. The facilities are kept very clean and the showers are always hot. Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Nice pub 5 mins walk and a well stocked supermarket is not much further opposite the ferry. Would definitely recommend a visit.

What a fantastic campsite this is ! Stunning location, excellent facilities and friendly wardens. The site is situated right on the water overlooking the small ferry terminal. There is a pub and village shop within walking distance, the toilet and shower block is rather small (2 showers & 2 cubicles in each) but was always very clean and warm. The site also has free wifi which was very handy as there's no 3G signal on Mull. We would definitely recommend this place.

The Isle of Mull has always been on our wish list and at last my daughter and I have eventually got there. We stayed in our camper-van at the Sheilings site. A beautiful site with stunning views our pitch was right at the front looking onto the sea so as the sun rose and set we had first class views. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful the toilet block and shower facilities were spotless. Constant hot water, hairdryer provided and clothes washing facilities. A unique drying system also provided for clothes. A very central location for catching the Oban ferry and for visiting the many and varied sites on Mull. We thoroughly enjoyed out time at the Sheilings and would certainly recommend it but don't take our word for it try it for yourself.

I arrived pretty much at the last minute, having settled on a site which is midway from most places on Mull. Despite being near to the ferry terminal at Craignure it is a scenic site with plenty of choices to pitch your tent, including some within ten yards of the water. Craignure itself has all of the basics covered with a mini mart, coffee shop, petrol station, post office and pub. Mull is mostly about the scenery with the nearest attraction being Duart Castle, which is home to the Clan MacLean and in itself worth a visit.

Staff were as friendly and helpful as you could wish for. The reception building is open 24/7 for campers to get access to local information, and they have free wifi which works around the site (my tent was fifty yards away and my reception was good enough). Tent pitches are covered in astroturf which takes getting used to, but it does mean that each pitch is very well drained and your tent comes back pretty clean. Check your pegs are secure and guys tight, and all will be well (this was just a precaution, in four nights I had no problems).

There are multiple washrooms, with showers (free hot water), washing machines and tumble dryers (token operated), a free freezer for your cooler packs and good dishwashing facilities. In the upper field are two shielings (a kind of giant plastic tent) used for social activities and games.

And most of all is the location. I was lucky with the weather and the site being quiet in late September, but even so I can't do anything other than give this site a great rating
