Beautiful site with wonderful views over the sea, and the hills behind. A kissing gate at the bottom of the site is directly on the Wales Coast path with nice walks in both directions. Or you can walk straight down a steep dune to the beach. Everything was kept in a very clean condition. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. Showers (free) were hot and there were enough of them, a new block has been added/refurbished. Dishwashing area indoors, tumble driers and washing machines were all good. There is a shop with a limited supply of essentials, and a nice looking breakfast cafe which we didn't use. Great place !

What a lovely kept site. Showers are immaculate as are the camping fields. Cafe and shop on site. Staff are all very helpful and friendly nothing too much trouble for them. The beaches are absolutely fantastic walk down to beach from site easy but more hard going coming back but well worth it. Coastal walks are lovely and views spectacular. Beaches are dog friendly some restrictions on a few from May to September but not a problem. Some lovely pubs to eat out and quite reasonable prices and some serve all day. Shops are basic unless you go into Swansea so bring some supplies with you.

Will definitely come back to this site but not in school holiday as I think it would be too busy for us oldies.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Nicholaston.

We camped in a tent field which had electric hook ups along at least one side. Our field was on the right (round a tight corner) before you get to reception.

The welcome was friendly and informative.

Our field was on a gentle slope and we found it tricky to find a level pitch. We did find we slid down the bed during the night, just enough to be slightly irritating but it wouldn't put us off visiting again. The grass was well cared for and the site was immaculate.

We appreciate we went at the height of the season. We often had to queue for showers (although not for long) and our ice blocks didn't freeze terribly quickly in the freezers. It was refreshing to see large fridges where we could store our chilled foods in and you could store frozen food in the freezers too.

The facilities were kept clean and obviously monitored and cleaned on a regular basis. The site felt as if somebody bothered if you know what I mean!

The chemical loo disposal was very clean with the ability to rinse out your portable loo too.

The shop had a good selection of fruit and veg. We would have welcomed longer opening hours, especially during peak season. The non perishables were quite limited. They also had a cafe with a good selection of breakfast and lunch dishes which were reasonably priced.

The highlight of Nicholaston has to be the ice cream! They were oh so generous with the portions and the ice cream was worth the walk back from the beach. It was worth the walk from the tent. It was worth a drive from our house (300 miles +). It was worth the drive over the Severn bridge (aargh!). My six year old son quickly worked out that the ladies gave bigger portions! A good and varied selection too. I can recommend the chocolate and the salted caramel. My son says the strawberry was fantastic.

We will visit again. We would be happy to have a tent pitch without electric hook up due to the fridges and freezers, although the joy of straightening crazy hair in private is bliss!

There was no children's play ground, but to me, the joy of camping is to make your own entertainment and we had room for our swingball and the frisbee.

We would definitely visit again and would wholeheartedly recommend this site to other campers.

We've just returned from our second visit to Nicholaston and can't recommend it enough.

The owner and staff are friendly and helpful and available 24 hours. The 2 wash blocks are well maintained and cleaned regularly. There is plenty of room in the on site fridges and freezer which is in the same room as the wash-up facilities. The site cafe and farm shop are handy for basics (and a bacon sarnie!) and reasonably priced. The nearest supermarkets are in Swansea, approx 30-45min drive away depending on traffic. We ate a couple of times in the local Gower Arms pub which was good value and quality but therefore very busy! There is a good fish and chip shop 10 mins away as well.

As it was the school holidays the campsite was full but didn't feel overcrowded with plenty of room around the pitches. Noise levels at night varied but generally it was quiet by 11pm. Some traffic noise from the nearby main road but it didn't really bother us.

This time we camped in the lower of the 2 fields with tent EHU pitches which made a difference when climbing the steep hill back from the stunning beach! The wide beach is shallow sloping sand (ideal for our 7 year old) and very clean with a couple of small cafes/shops at the far end.

On our last day it rained so we headed off to Mumbles (approx 20min drive) and explored the pier, shops and amusement arcades. Unfortunately it was too wet to go crabbing but this is apparently a good spot! Last time we stayed the weather was very wet so we made use of the cinema in Swansea and there is a local heritage centre that hosts events throughout the year. This time the weather was brilliant so we headed to the beach daily and visited nearby award-winning Rossili Bay too. Rossili was busy but so big it didn't feel crowded. Again a fairly steep path to access the beach with shops, cafes & toilets available at the top of the climb.

If there's anything we would change it would be having a toilet available at the beach :)

Very friendly staff, very busy packed site but never bothered by any noise. Shower facilities were excellent, WC, shower and basin in one place, your own little bathroom. Bacon sandwich from cafe was lovely, lovely fresh bread and wonderful bacon. Fantastic beaches, access steep on way back to site.

Lovely site with stunning views looking over the bay. Toilet and showers are well kept and even at height of the season are regularly cleaned. Showers cost 20p for 4 minutes which stops people staying in them for ages and keeps the queues down.

There is a walk down to the beach through the trees and sand dunes which could cause a problem for anyone with walking difficulties but you can drive to a car park at the far end of the bay

Cafe and farm shop provide food supplies and breakfast plus you can pick your own fruit when in season.

An excellent site which we would love to go to again
