Located in a quiet spot off the beaten track, closer to Soton than Salisbury. We arrived late and allowed to chose where we pitched. We chose the adult area along a straight row of hard standing, which has no lighting and the shower facilities are closed as is the bathroom which can be rented for 15. 00 if you wish to take a bath (a tad pricey)

The next day we moved to the children's area, which was oposite the shower block. This area is certainly geared for children.

The site is mainly occupied by sited units, with a few spaces available for visitors. Two large fields are available for tents, so could prove busy in season. These fields are plagued with mole hills and traps.

A nice site only let down by the snagging issues in the toilet block and the drain that never seems to clear, the broken soap dispenser. Not all blocks being open out of season, outside kitchen wash facilities also closed and lack of available wifi.

Stopped for a couple of nights over a dull and damp weekend, as a small group with three pitches.

The site was quiet as expected for the time of year. We stopped in the child friendly area as one of our friends had his children along for one night. As it turned out we preferred the pitches in this area as they weren't set as close together or in amongst the trees so much.

The facilities were clean and warm on arrival, although it didn't look like they were cleaned over the weekend. It was a little annoying that the water to the washing up sinks had been turned off to stop the pipes freezing, not the end of the world but there didn't seem to be an alternative area for washing up.

The gravel pitches were large and flat and had plenty of space. There was a good little wooded dog walk on site for early morning / evening leg-cocking. And with direct access to the New Forest for the longer walk during the day.

The number of long stay caravans that were unoccupied gave the site a bit of a run-down feel, even though it was obvious the owners were working hard on upgrading pitches and other improvements around the site.

I kind of found the site average, nothing wrong with it, but nothing that made it stand out.

I rang the site on the spur of the moment as we were on the outskirts of Salisbury travelling back from Bristol and didn't want our week away to end. Friends of ours stay there regularly and recommended it to us. We were told there was pitches available, which was great and I reserved a pitch. We arrived in darkness and pouring rain. We found the site really easy with the help of our sat nav as we hadn't been here before. Check in was quick and we were given a choice of pitches, a couple being in the adult area. We chose a pitch near the shower block on the family area as it was very quiet. We had to pay a 10 deposit for a barrier card which is refundable on departure. We were told how to get to our pitch and where the facilities were. Once we had chosen our pitch and got settled the receptionist came along to check where we were and if everything was ok for us. Showers and toilets were very clean, but obviously there weren't many people on site. The showers were hot but did spray all over the cubicle, so everywhere was wet. I usually take a small towel to stand on in the changing area but couldn't use it as the fIoor got soaked. It poured with rain until the following afternoon when we actually ventured out and had a walk around the campsite. Its very pretty and I would imagine lovely when the weathers good. We will go into the adult area on our next visit. There is a play area for the kids and a takeaway which I assume is only open in the high season. They also have a New Years Eve do, ticket only, which we may consider in the future. Yes we will be going back. We cycled out into the local area and found a nice pub The Lamb not too far away. Right on the edge of the Forest. We have planned a cycle ride for our next visit. Lovely campsite and we will definitely be going back. Really enjoyed our brief visit despite the weather and would recommend

Nice peaceful site with adult only and family sections, 2 fishing lakes, prices reasonable, very good access from main road. Not far from Salisbury where there are good supermarkets and retail parks.

Would recommend to anybody. Shower blocks nice and clean, club house available peak season.

Loved this site. Very friendly staff. Three areas to choose from. We stayed in adult only area around the lake that allows dogs. We did not have a dog but chose this area as we had just lost our dog of 17. Found it very quiet with no sighting of the drunken oafs another reviewer mentioned. First class toilet blocks, very clean and welcoming. Papers and freshly baked items can be ordered before six o clock the night before. Not the best tv reception but not a problem. Close to Salisbury which is lovely and other smaller villages/towns. Would visit again!

Decided on a spur of the moment trip, struggled to find somewhere at this time of year in the area near Southampton suitable for our needs (travelling with two dogs, so wanted good walking area). Phoned a couple of Caravan Club CL sites and very disappointed until we phoned Green Hill, what a lovely, accommodating warm reception, booked for 2 nights (2 & 3 Jan '15) - arrived later than anticipated (4. 30pm ish) again lovely warm welcome on arrival, allocated a pitch but told we could set up on any of the adjacent ones, which we chose to do (they had been full over Christmas and New Year). Shower / toilet blocks, clean and warm, small site shop seemed to have most things (grateful they had milk!). Dog walking really good for us, woodland walk on site on lead but access to New Forest common which was lovely. Very wet during our stay but that was fine as geared up for it. Will be back (taking fishing rods!) as such a lovely welcome.
