To confirm the last report, this site is now just static caravans and does not provide pitches for tents. The website that still exists is from the old company and is no longer valid. This is from phoning to enquire. Very annoying as excellent location with few other sites nearby.

Just wanted to say we went past this site and it appears to be closed as far as tourers are concerned. It was full of old statics for sale and is being landscaped as a static park. We saw a couple of tourers behind the garage but they look to be permanently sited. Shame really, as it was a beautiful location for a touring/tent park if only it had been run properly.

July 2005
The main problem was the absolutely mankey toilet block. After our 2yr old had played with the exhaust-pipe while we were putting the tent up, she needed a good wash, but the ladies showers were so filthy that the missus used the sink in the washup part, ignoring the half-eaten lorne sausage roll in the corner.

I went to the gents with our wee boy, and made sure that he didn't go anywhere near the filthy pan he was peeing in. the thought of taking a child into this area for a shower was unthinkable.

Next morning the toilet block was in the same state. I told the owner we wouldn't be staying another night (we'd paid for 2 up front) because of the condition of the facilities, his only comment was that he 'employed someone to clean them'. Absolutely no sign of embarassment or apology or offer of a refund for the 2nd night.

After the missus went to washup that morning (no sexism here, it's easier than looking after the weans :)) the offending roll from the previous afternoon was still in it's usual location. SHE GOT A REFUND BUT HAD TO PUSH IT.

NO SOAP IN ANY TOILET AREA. I've frequentented some rough pubs in my time, but never seen this.
