This review is really a tale of two halves. One terrible and one lovely.
I took the family (2 adults, 2 boys 3&6 and one small dog) to Shorefield Country Park for a week at the end of August. We stayed in a Dane Park chalet - £481 for a week inclusive which I thought was quite reasonable.
Unfortunately the chalet had drainage and sewage problems. The staff were very helpful but couldn't move us until the following Monday.
The second chalet was much better - light, bright, clean, TV, patio and overlooking the children's park.
I recommend you look at the map of the site before you go and ask for a particular chalet - some are right on the road and very shaded whereas some overlook a lovely grassy woodland area with a play area.
Indoor pool - clean but very boring for kids. Outdoor pool - fab. Neither has slides or anything for kids so take inflatables and balls. Handy little cafe by the outdoor pool selling ice cream, tea, goggles etc.
This site also PGL kids activities for kids over 7. Basic but £10 for a couple of hours of abseiling, trapeze, archery - we would definitely do this when are kids are old enough.
Lovely site - great for cycling (only one steep hill!) Great location. Friendly staff. Absolutely fantastic spa with 30% off if you book a week before you arrive - hubby and I had loads of treatments and we loved it!
Milford on Sea is lovely. Pebble beach is beautiful and a lovely cafe too. Loved it so much I could have lived there!
Will be returning next year without doubt.
