This site is basically a field behind a pub. There are a number of rather scruffy-looking apparently derelict caravans on the site - some were actually occupied, though they clearly hadn't been moved for some time.

The field itself is quite pleasant, mainly level and had been newly mown. A woodland, great for dog-walking, is accessed from the far right corner of the field (this is why we chose this site).

The pub is nice - good food, friendly service, nice garden and small children's play area.

Shower and toilet facilities were very basic. Far too basic for the £14.50 we paid (this included hook up, however). One rather mouldy shower in one room of an elderly portable cabin in the pub car park, and two toilets, two urinals and two basins in another small room in the same portable cabin. All unisex. I was not thrilled at the idea of doing my daily ablutions and teeth brushings right next to a couple of urinals!

The facilities were clean after a fashion, but I don't know when the floor had last seen a mop. There was often a queue for the facilities - standing with your towel and wash-bag with a few strangers outside a portable cabin in a pub car park is not my idea of a good time, it has to be said. Unisex facilities also not ideal for children - safety-wise etc.

In short, an okay site for a one-night stop over if you can't find anything else, but I wouldn't go for longer than that.

Stayed from Good Friday. Parking next to tent / caravan not allowed - have to leave in pub car park though I did ask permission as I wanted to use the car battery for my tent light and I was allowed to pitch just outside the main camping area at the end of the pub car park. No fence, gate or security whatsoever and quite a small camping area.

Bit noisy at night when the pub emptying but that's not a problem if you're already in there! Facilities basic - one shower for everyone in a portable cabin which was hot and a heater which came on automatically which was nice as it was a bit chilly early April, and another small portable cabin with 2 toilets, 2 basins and 2 urinals for all to use with a bolt on the main door so only one person at a time could get in.

Not the best arrangement, could do with sexes separated. All kept very clean no matter what time of day I used them.

Mainly caravans and motorhomes there, guess using their own facilities. Plus point is the pub is really nice and food looked good and reasonably priced though I did not eat there.

Great for Woburn Safari Park, only a few minutes away by car. Woburn village useful for shopping. Ridgmont is a very pretty village, hardly any traffic, benefitting greatly from the by-pass. Staff friendly and helpful.

Backs on to fields with a wood, useful for the dog or children. Can't remember how much it was but it must have been reasonable otherwise I would not have booked it! Would visit again.

I had a very happy 3 weeks at this site. Dave was very helpful and friendly, the pub served good drink and very tasty, reasonably priced food. The location to the M1 was really close and easy & I easily accessed the Post Office at Woburn,( free parking close by ), Tesco at Flitwick and of course, all manner of shops in nearby Milton Keynes.( Milton Keynes Theatre 10.4 miles away, 15 mins drive £1.50 to park all day !)

The unisex loos ( 2 cubicles, 2 urinals ) and the 1 shower, were not posh, but they functioned well, I didn't experience any queues and they were kept clean.

Cars, after unhitching, were kept on the carpark at the side of the camping field, but the field had no gate on it, so, as a security measure, I would have been happier had there been a gate with a padlock on it or some other visible deterrent for would be thieves.

I would definitely return to this site, and have good memories from my stay.

After reading the reviews we were hoping this could become a regular weekend site for us. After being told to pitch anywhere on the phone we did so only to be told to move the caravan. I thought the rows of caravans over to one side could only be in storage, but no that was where we were to pitch the caravan. If you were to put your awning up you would be nearly touching the caravan next door. These caravans are obviously rented out and some had water butts so full of algae they can't have been used for some time.

The pub was nice, although we didn't get the warm welcome stated in the reviews. The food was ok at best. Very bland and I had to return my Jam Roly Poly as it had been microwaved so much it was rock hard in the centre.

The toilets were ok but the door keep being left unlocked for anyone to use and the shower was not very clean. No balls games allowed on site which with children is no good. Nice walk though a small wood was the highlight of the site.

We have just spent a lovely couple of days at this site and cannot sing its praises enough. The Landlord, Dave was what made the stay for us so pleasant, he was warm and welcoming, explaining what was what.
The site is small but perfectly formed and has a portacabin-style toilets (2 sinks, 2 cubicles and 2 urinals)and next to that is the shower, which does the job! They are cleaned with pride by Shirl, every morning and even by late evening, they are still fine, as the people who stay there are considerate to others.

On arrival we were asked whether we would be wishing to dine at the pub or eating out and explained that there was no food on the Sunday evening, just the Sunday lunch, which unfortunately for us, we missed as were were out and about, but definitely intend to come back and stay again, taking in the Quiz Night on a Thursday with a bit of luck, to stretch the old brain cells !

On entering the pub on the Saturday evening, we were immediately welcomed by name, by Dave and asked what we were drinking and that, I think was the only time we had to say what we were drinking, as the staff take the trouble to remember. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant and the locals and the visitors blend in to one another. We got talking to a lovely lady, who was determined not to go to bed a 9pm and went into to pub on her own! Not a problem, Dave was happy to spend the time chatting to her, and then we came in and the evening flew by with happy banter, including Dave, when he had a minute or two to spare and join in the conversation.

For you smokers out there, they have a lovely heated Gazebo, which is in 3 sections, where you can sit in comfort.

For the kids, a lovely, safe play area.

This was mine and the dog's first camping experience, Des is an old Pro! and I could not have wished for a better site and will be a long lasting pleasant memory.

We have just returned from a two night stay. Due to circumstances beyond our control we arrived late in the day and were taken to our pitch. We would have needed a very long extension for the electric so opted to park up by the hook up in the nettles. We were then told that all the keys for the showers were out and were told where the outside loo was.
Although the site was very busy being a bank holiday it was quiet at night and the pub did lovely food at reasonable prices. If we were to stay here again it would not be at a bank holiday. If we could have had a shower it would have been a really good weekend.
