We have just stayed two nights at The Horns Dam over the bank holiday weekend. The owners were incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived, we were shown to our pitch and where the water, elsan disposal point and bin areas were.
The toilet block was newly built and very clean and tidy. The showers were very spacious. The site caters for those who are after a peaceful retreat there are also three fishing lakes to cater for those who wish to fish with nice walks nearby. By the end of the weekend we were completely relaxed. We will definitely being returning to the site again.

We came across this one and decided to ask if room for a night - as we pulled onto the site we were met by owner who told us we must have the wrong site before we had spoken. We asked for 1 night stay and said ok, took our money and was gone.
Site was very clean and well laid out, 3 distinct areas, approx 20 ish seasonals, 5 CL and then another area next to CL with 5 or 6 vans. Toilets small but very clean - ladies 2 toilets and 1 shower / gents 1 toilet / 1 shower.
When we tried to use shower we found them locked - went and asked at the house and were advised we would need keys as they keep them locked - at this stage we were given keys. Showers absolutely fantastic - piping hot, big room for changing etc.
The site is definitely geared for the fishing - we were made to feel slightly unwelcome by the owners who queried where we pitched (no direction from them on arrival), no information on site etc. Shame as this is a lovely kept site with great little walks around the lakes etc.
Would be go again? no probably not as customer service was awful. However, if you are into the fishing side and book in advance then probably you would find it good as it does seem non booked arrivals are something out of the ordinary.

Quiet country site comprising of large fenced & gated hardstanding area which seems to be directed mainly to seasonal pitches. There is a CL beyond this all with hardstandings, plus what appears to be a rally field beyond that. New toilet block & showers 1 for each gender, all with disabled access, which are kept spotless.
1 large 200 year old lake (4 acres) with carp to 30lbs, large eels, tench, roach, bream etc. 2 small ponds mainly stocked with carp to 16lbs & silvers beaware there are some very strict rules on these lakes so best to check before you fish
The site is in a country location so very little noise from local road network, so mainly country noise and smells, site is unlit so carry a torch
Local pub is about 400 yards away, there are no shops as such in Goosnargh. Longbridge being the nearest town (I think)
Owners are very pleasant and welcoming, great place to just go and chill out, we enjoyed it so have booked again for October

Quiet little site. Surrounded by 3 fishing ponds. Has now been extended with grass pitches and a shower block. The old part of the site has been spoiled in appearance by stoning the whole area (probably sick of people getting bogged down on the grass island that used to be there). There is a nice pub a couple of hundred yards up the lane that does meals, pre-booking is definitely recommended especially at weekends.

October 2004 Pleasant site with a few fishing lakes (ponds?) set round it, if you like fishing this could be the place for you, or if you just want some peace and quiet. Word of warning stick to the road in wet weather or you could get embarrassingly bogged down. Owner (nice fella) did say they are going to expand site and install showers and toilets etc.
