Stayed for two nights over our wedding anniversary weekend but wish it could have been longer. This site is a credit to Lincoln Council, well run, pleasant wardens, large pitches and only £15. 10 per night for our caravan with 2 people and EHU, and its only £17-30 in the summer.

It was lovely and quiet, showers, etc are spotless. There is a large park with lakes to wander round witch our little dog loved. Also has a great cafe on site that does THE best breakfast I have had in a long time for only £5-25!

Lincoln itself was a great with shops only a few mins away. We will go back in the summer and explore the waterfront area.

Had a great weekend away here. (Not far from home so we could test the caravan before the summer). We know the park quite well and were drawn here because of the proximity of Lincoln. The city centre is only a 40 minute walk away. As it's run by the city council, it is very clean and well looked after. We were greeted on arrival and walked to our pitch. The entire park is busy with dog walkers and people who like nature, but they aren't allowed to wander through where the caravans are. We weren't interested in walking round the park, because we've been plenty of times on days out to Lincoln, but we do know that it is massive and if you have the time, you could easily spend the day ambling around. Will definitely use the site in the future for trips to the city when we want to stay really late and even for the Christmas market (which is awesome by the way!)

An excellent site, very convenient for visiting Lincoln. We stayed here for two nights on our way on a lengthy journey to the Outer Hebrides.

The site is situated in Hartsholme Park, an SSI with many footpaths to explore. A real credit to Lincoln Council. Excellent interpretation signs throughout and a Visitors Centre giving background information and organizing activities for children. There is a small cafe in the park (2 mins from campsite) and we were able to take food (chips!) back to our van to complement our lunch.

First the facilities: very clean and comfortable, across the footpath from the site: for men: two showers and two loos, similar arrangement for ladies (combination lock entry). If the site was busy, there might be a queue but we found it adequate. No internet but OK mobile signal. Washing up area is very good.

Buses run every 10 minutes or so to Lincoln (slightly less in the evening). The bus station is next to the market area and the Coop. A visit to the cathedral is a must- join a roof tour if available and look out for the Lincoln Imp and the ‘syncopated’ vaulting. Also visit the Christopher Wren Reading room with its original Venerable Bede manuscripts among others. On our visit we could only look in through the door.

The real asset here is the Site Warden who was most helpful and informative. In particular her guide to finding your way to Lincoln was excellent. It is a difficult time for councils to maintain such facilities, being encouraged to outsource at any opportunity. Don’t do it here! You have something special in the Park which is widely used by the community. On our visit we saw numerous couples, families and others walking the footpaths. Congratulations for maintaining such an excellent and intriguing resource.

We had no security problems reported elsewhere. Clearly in an open park area such as this sensible precautions need to be taken.

We will certainly return.

Having stayed two nights at this campsite, I was really impressed with the location of the park and its facilities. However the biggest thing that lets the campsite down is the lack of security.

The second night we stopped there, we were woken up by the sound of a lot of shouting and bawling. , from a group of drunken yobs who were setting off fire extinguishers.

The following morning, we discovered our motorhome covered in white powder.

If the campsite had a warden on site. We would return, but until this is addressed we would not feel comfortable staying there again.

What can be added to the previous comments. Yes, this campsite is 1st class, I used its facilities over a weekend and into the following week. During the weekend it did tend to get a bit crowded, as would be expected, especially as we experienced reasonable weather.

The Toilet/Washing up facilities are very well maintained, and a very short walk from the main camping field.

The site is set in acres of woodland, which is very well frequented by the local population and that is where I found the problem lay. Anybody and everybody has access to the camping field, although there are notices up on the gate saying it is strictly for campers only, the notice was ignored and members of the public entered, there is no security or restriction on their doing so, and wandered around the campsite at their leisure. The site is lacking physical restriction on entry and egress, a combination lock on the gate, as fitted to the shower blocks, would help to safeguard the units when the owners were not present, and a gate to restrict pedestrian access would also assist.

The moaning now done, the site is magical, just a short bus ride outside the city of Lincoln with all that it has to offer, it is very well maintained by the attentive Site Wardens, there is a Cafe just across the road, within the Country Park itself.

I shall certainly return, but would rest more easily with some security installed. There are no entertainments for children on the site but a large swing park and ball games field is only a hop, skip and a jump away.

Stayed for two nights but wish it could have been longer. This site is a credit to Lincoln Council, well run, pleasant wardens, large pitches and only £14. 70 per night for our motor-home with 2 people and EHU, and I don't think it gets a lot dearer than that in the summer.

It reminds me a little of the Municipal Sites in France, where you get good, basic facilities without paying a premium.

It was lovely and quiet with a large park with lakes to wander round.

We caught the service buses just outside the site to go into Lincoln. Lincoln itself was a delight, though the walk up to the cathedral and castle was torture. We would love to go back when the sight-seeing buses are running and to explore the waterfront area.

My only criticism would be the lack of wi-fi, so handy when exploring an area, but like a previous review, I understand the council are working on this.
