This as a stunning camping site! Beautiful green hills to one side and rolling farm lands to the other. The owner was more than helpful. Supplied us with wood and kindling each night on request. Fire pits were also available, but we brought our own. You were able to drive to your tent, although some other residents abused this and drove themselves to the toilets. But luckily didn't mud up the grounds.

The amenities were great, clean, hot showers, drinking water, washing up facilities. And I really loved the freezer access as well.

There is a large open space camping area, where we camped. It got significantly busy on the Saturday night, and we could hear some of our neighbors' music. But the other nights we were there was quiet bliss. There was a smaller camp area below, closer to the creek, with port-a-loos. That would be have been a more secluded spot, but was already taken. The sound of the creek was beautiful. Bugs were fine, we didn't really notice many, but it was quite a cold weekend in August, around 12-15 degrees during the day, but no rain.

We paid 8 per person per night, which I thought was very reasonable. The drive in was stunning as well. The locals are quite happy to over take you on the winding roads, no matter what speed you're doing. The drive from London on a Friday was about 7 hours, and we all came from different directions. Drive back on the Monday was a more reasonable 5/6.

We did a day of hiking and it was beautiful, farmland, sheep, cattle, streams, the lake. We hiked up to Bala then caught the train back. The train does take a while and is slow (and expensive we thought at a 9 per person), but was great. The train stops right at the camp site.

Its a short 10min drive to the north side of Bala lake, and the small town of Bala which has a co-op, petrol station, pubs, shopping and leisure center. THis is also where you can hire bikes, kayaks, sail boats etc. We should have spent more than 4 days here! So much to do and so beautiful! Even the cold weather didn't spoil it.

We booked one night on the campsite at short notice but wasn't a problem. It wasn't at all busy and we had our pick of pitches to choose from. The hard standing was level and just wide enough for our motorhome so our outside area for sitting was all grass which was much better than when you have a wide hard standing and no grass. The showers and toilets were clean and plenty of hot water. Only 2 toilets (+ disabled toilet) and 2 showers in the ladies - am not sure this would be sufficient if all the pitches were in use.

Owners were really helpful and friendly. We ate in the local pub, The Eagles which was about a 15 minute walk - the food was really good.

Our children enjoyed paddling in the stream on the site and we also took advantage of the closeness of the Bala Lake Railway station to have a trip on the train.

Not one of the cheapest sites we've been on and I think it was a little overpriced considering the small no. Of toilets and shower facilities BUT the lovely location made up for that.

I have forgot how many time we have stayed at this camp site. This is our 2nd time this year. The new owners are very helpful The site is at the end of Bala lake through a lovely village which has a great pub called the Eagle which is also a shop. It does lovely food. The sight is big you can pick where you pitch your tent. There is a shower block with 3 showers, A kitchen area with washing machine & Dryer There is a stream running through the site which is great for children to play. We love this site & will be coming back for many years to come

I took my 11 year old son here for his first time camping as a dad 'n' lad weekend. I chose this site because of its location to the train station which is literally less than 5 mins from where we were camping in the field. I also chose this site so that we could have a camp fire and get back to basic cooking going. I hired a fire pit (an old wheel hub!) which was great and did the trick to contain the fire. The river was also really nice and clear. I did take my fishing gear with me but I'm going to have a lesson in fly fishing since I think the river would be great for that. Apart from the price this is a lovely site and the owners are helpful. The toilets are adequate for us fellas who are not to fussed. We'll probably be back at some point.

Really nice site with good views. It was not too busy - not even during half term when we went. Hence no queues for showers or anything. Kids loved it by the river. Loads of space to pitch. Genuinely helpful friendly staff. Little pub in Llanuwchllyn was friendly and there is also good access to Bala.

This is a lovely site at the end of Bala Lake. The campsite was very quiet and tranquil with lots of space between tents for the children to run around in. There is a river running alongside the campsite which is also great for the kids and the train stops just near the entrance. Owner was very helpful and friendly and considering it was bank holiday weekend it was very relaxing and peaceful. There is no noise policy but it didn't seem to matter as most people were quiet once it got dark and respectful of others. There is no shop on the site but Bala is only a 10 min drive along the Lake. My only real criticism is that there was only one small toilet block and if you were camping down the end of the field, it was quite a treck! There was also quite a queue in the mornings. It is also quite expensive considering the lack of facilities. Nevertheless we had a lovely time there and would consider again if we were in the area.
