This was our first camping trip with our two year old so was a bit nervous if he was still a bit young for camping. He loved it!

The campsite was situated on a small working farm, but was not noisy, we never realy heard much noise from the animals despite them being so close. There were two fields assigned for camping, one with electric which we did not use. We were met by the farmer on arrival who directed us where to find the field and left us to pick a spot which was good. We were able to pitch our tent with ease, ground more then suitable. Toilets and showers were clean and water was hot (50p for shower gave you 6mins more then enough time. )only small issue was pot washing is in male or female toilets so not able to wash dishes together if you wanted.

On site there were lots of lambs, two calfs and free range chickens which our two year old loved. Both farmers were often seen working on the farm and were always very friendly. They allowed our son to go into the barns to get a closer look at the animals and even feed the very tiny baby lambs their bottle. This was a big hit and they became 'his lambs'.

Site is within walking distance to a water fall and village a stones throw away.

Looking forward to returning to this site again.

Just come back from a short stay at this campsite. Its a working farm and the facilities are acceptable for the price though 1 shower wasn't really enough in the ladies and there were queues in the morning. There were 2 showers for the men and one morning my husband said there was a lady using one of them who had obviously got fed up waiting.

The campsite is in a rural setting surrounded by sheep but also in the centre of Bellingham which was pretty much perfect.

There is a larger field for non-ehu pitches which looked lovely but was quite a distance from the amenities. We were in the smaller ehu field nearer the toilets which to be honest felt cramped and claustrophobic. There were 2 groups of 3 families sharing the area which didn't help. One of the reasons I chose this campsite was because in the rules and regulations stated they didn't allow groups of more than 2 families.

If we were to return I would do it in the middle of summer when we didn't need electricity.

Visited Demesne again this week. Absolutely love the place. Bellingham is a beautiful place and the farm itself is perfect. Went by myself and my dog and had a thoroughly relaxing stay. Really nice walks along the river.

Ample shops in the village, 2 banks, 3 pubs and a chinese restaurant/take away. Garage sells everything, like Arkwright's shop.

Going to make an effort to get there more often.

Thanks again to the owners.

Paul.

We stayed for two nights with my grandson, we have been to this Farm site in the past and always enjoyed our stay. This time was no different. We have seen some big improvements to the site, and the grass for pitching your tent is the best we have seen in any campsite we have stayed. There is also an over flow pitch too, so it's always worth calling the farm if your looking for a place last minute too.

This is a working farm, kids and adults alike, will experience nature at it's best.

Showers and toilets are kept up to standard with regular cleaning.

The location is perfect as a base to visit other parts of Northumberland and Keilder water too. There are local shops, cafe and pubs serving food within walking distance so there is something for everyone.

If you enjoy a walk, then why not set off on a 1. 5 mile journey upto Hareshaw Linn and see the Waterfall. There are around seven bridges leading the way, crossing sides for spectacular views. The start of the walk is only over the road from Demesne Farm.

There was someone there to welcome us in the farm who told us where we had to pitch up, the site was quiet so we had quite a good choice. Very peaceful site, although the sheep bleated on a bit. Facilities were good and kept clean one shower, 3 toilets for the women, and I assume the same for the men. We visited the little village and went to a few of the pubs there, for a friendly drink. The only negative thing about this site which is not their fault, was the midges. This is our second year of camping and were new to this. My husband got bit approx 20 times on one leg and myself on my head. We were wearing midgey bracelets which obviously did not work, might try the spray the next time! This is a lovely small site and maybe we might re-visit but the midgeys might put us off.

Great little site, very nice owners who were always willing to help and explain the running of the farm.

Bellingham has a Cooperative shop, lovely Bakers with 3 pubs, we used the Cheviot a couple of times and the locals were friendly with fine real ales. You can use the Riverdale Hotels small pool, it's a short walk away £4 Adults £2 for kids.

You empty the waste into the main sewer (no Elsan)

And it is 50p for 6mins in the shower.

Well worth a visit, we will be calling there again.
