Got a large pitch with a sea view but on a slope, nothing the vans chock couldn't cope with. Excellent facilities. Site was full when we visited but quiet at night. Walk into Berwick took about half an hour, Berwick is great for the history and buildings but the town itself is a let down, poor shops and feels run down. Got the train to Edinburgh one day, only takes 40 minutes and is well worth it. Enjoyed our time there but wouldn't go back due to Berwick itself being a disappointment.

The site is situated in Spittal, South of the River Tweed and 1 ½ miles from Berwick centre. Downside is the site runs parallel to the main rail route with regular trains and freight service. Upside is (some) of the pitches provide fantastic views of Berwick, the harbour, three bridges and River Tweed.

The site has the usual very high standard of toilet/facilities and very friendly and helpful wardens. Spittal beach is only a 5 minute walk from the site and is ideal for dog walking.

Berwick itself is steeped in history and the walk along the elevated fortified ramparts with spectacular views is a must, plus the Lowry trail and visit to the town hall which was used as a jail and lighthouse? The town itself has seen better days and is now a mix of charity shops and for sale signs.

An M&S simply food and Asda store are found within 1 mile of the site, Aldi and Tesco in Berwick. The Berwick Shellfish Co supplies fish, crab, lobster and is only ½ mile away, plus the Northern Edge Coffee roasters ¼ mile away at Spittal.

Overall mixed feeling about the site and area, but it is definitely worth a visit and a three day stay.

Spent s night here on a pre-Christmas break.

Situated on the hillside overlooking the sea and the busy town of Berwick, the site makes a good base for exploring North Northumberland and Southern Scotland, or as a stopover when travelling on the A1.

As expected with CC sites, the facilities were all wll maintained and efficient. Lovely, helpful and friendly wardens.

As it was low season, it was a bargain at £14 per night. ,

There were only a couple other 'vans on our midweek visit - so we got the midweek discount which worked out at under £13. 00 per night. Excellent value! As you would expect from a Caravan Club site the facilities are first class and the reception friendly but no offer of help in setting up - unlike the Camping & Caravan Club. All pitches appear to be hard standings with great sea views but some are a bit small and will only take small 'vans or campers and OF COURSE you can not set up 'side ways' to take advantage of the views but if you are C. C. Members you know the rules.

There is a fair bit of noise from the railway and a surprising amount of road noise. There is also a Church? clock which chimes on the hour every hour so if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you.

There is a short sharp steep climb up to the entrance but we did not find it difficult.

We had lunch in the Theatre Bistro in Berwick (again) and it is well worth a visit if you want something different.

After many visits to the town of Berwick, finally tried this site, it's great (once you accept the East Coast Main Line behind the site.

The views from the site are wonderful, Berwick town centre is easily reached either by walking around the bay or catching a bus at the site entrance. The site staff are friendly and the facilities immaculate.

My granddaughter enjoyed the nearby beach and the walk into Berwick.

We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed at this site in June and October 2014 and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers were immaculate. It is a short walk into Berwick which is very busy with a good selection of shops, in particular the Coop with its extremely large car park[handy if your in a motorhome] We enjoyed walking the ramparts with its fantastic sea views. We will be returning in 2015.
