After a soggy time in the Charente maritime we emailed ahead to see if they were water logged too, not a chance so off we set to find this hidden gem of a site. Diner for four booked at 'Sarah's table ' the day was getting better and better.
What a warm welcome greeted us and a beautiful view for our next two days of our French adventure camp. Being the first to use the new showers I can confirm they are hot, strong, spacious, immaculate Toilets and showers housed in a very smart ranch style building. If you like washing up with a sumptuous view, this is the place, looking over the orchard and out to the forest.
Diner. Oodles of fresh bread, glasses never empty and wonderful generous food was the order if the day. Sticky toffee pudding for desert that my kids went mad for. You eat communally and Peter and Sarah have all sorts of stories about their move to France which is hugely entertaining.
The next day we fished, popped to the local village for provisions, walked in the forest and saw Wilde deer, canoed on the lake twice and played with Pete's new power boat. If was 9 pm before we even sat down.
It's an easy stop over the journey to Calais was easy three and a half hours. Two nights though we're not enough !
Practical tips chock are a must !

Well I don't like telling t0o many people about this especially the carp fishermen, This Tarn has the most fantastic fighting mid 20s To 33lbs fishing in Normandy, with lakeside pitches, ( yes lakeside pitches)The venue is the fishermans Eden
With perfect hosts who are also developing this site with a new toilet block shower facility that are second to none in France
Rates are reasonable, you can also have meals provided by Sarah and welcomed warmly by them both. Please check the site out you wont be disappointed.

Although the camp site was in the middle of a major renovation the new owners Peter and Sarah made us very welcome. We were able to take our pick and so chose a lakeside pitch with simply stunning views. To wake up, open the door to be greeted by no more sound than a distant cuckoo and look out at the mist rising slowly from the lake was magical. If you like walking there are some brilliant forest walks close by and the pretty town of Remalard is only a few kms away, as is the Intermarche (with cheap fuel). I can't wait to return later in the year and see what the new owners have achieved.

Although in the middle of site improvements and renovations we were made very welcome. A lovely peaceful and restful site. At present chocks required on most pitches for motorhomes. Enjoyed a home cooked meal in the restaurant. Vet, shops and supermarket in nearby town. Will be a great place to stay once all facilities updated and operational in a few months time. We will return to enjoy the countryside, the local places to visit and the hospitality of the owners. (Rating for site facilities below is for the ones we had available to us as all facilities being updated now. )

The owners were very hospitable and looked after us extremely well. We took the winter pitch package which was excellent; the owners cooking is a mouthwatering delight. Our visit was not blessed by the best of weather, ice & snow, but we were welcomed to stay as long as we needed for the roads to be clear. It was a brilliant start to our trip the bonus was the area which had a lot of excellent walks there would have been really good cycling too but too snowy to risk 2 wheels.
The site is in a good location & Remelard turned out to be the best provided for & most lived in village of the trip. Facilities even with the work are good & we could see in spring the site would be very attractive.
The best thing is the welcome. Sarah and Peter are excellent hosts and looked after us well, they even took us to the local market on the Saturday.
A good stopover site, we drove from the Dover Calais Ferry. I think if we could have used the bikes we would have stayed a lot longer.
We will be going back.

We visited Forest View and took advantage of their Plat de Jour offer, breakfast and evening meal which was ideal as we were only passing through the area. The hospitality from the owners was second to none, and received a very warm welcome from them both. The family camping pitches are separated from the quiet camping pitches by a lovely lake. New toilet block planned, cant wait to return to see it completed. We have already booked up for a longer stay later in the year. Highly Recommended.
