This immaculately kept site is a credit to the wardens who were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The toilet, shower and facilities block is spotless and very warm with under-floor heating. Four toilets and two showers in the ladies' and two of each in the gents'. The site was reasonably busy when we were there but the facilities never felt crowded.

Pitches are level and neatly kept; the electric hook ups are spaced out in twos and fours so be sure to have a 25m cable just in case yours is a distance away (as ours was).

The orchard next to the site is ideal for dog walking

There are no hedges or barriers between the pitches so that when the site is full it might feel a little crowded.

The downsides are minor ones. The motorway is very close but the noise is a constant hum; whether it bothers you is down to your sensitivity to noise because otherwise this is a very tranquil site. There is nothing outside the site within easy walking distance and the drive to the nearest pub in Trull can be exciting if you enjoy single track roads! Worst of all, though, is the lack of recycling of waste. An unsightly skip swallows all. Given the attention to detail elsewhere this is a let down.

That said we enjoyed our stay and would go back and would recommend the site.

We just fancied a night away, so headed off to Taunton, which is only 20 miles from where we live. I rang to book and said that we would be turning up late.

On arrival, our name and pitch number were on the big arrivals board. Our large hard standing pitch

Was 10 paces away from the warm, clean, modern toilet/shower/washing up block. But as the site is so compact, it is close to every pitch.

Really friendly wardens. As it was Autumn, the walk into town was too dark, but will return again

Next summer to wander into Taunton.

Little bit of road noise, but M5 is close. Wasn't a problem though.

We paid £15, and are amazed that during peak season it goes up to an extortionate £18.

Great site, Immaculate and friendly.

This is the cleanest site I have ever stayed on.

The grass is neatly manicured (I'm sure gremlins come in the night to cut it!)and it is well attended to.

The toilet blocks are lovely and warm with piped music played in them. The sinks, toilets and shower are spotless with cloths and mops for you to use after so no excuse to leave a mess!

There is a covered area with sinks outside with plenty of hot water to wash the crocks.

There a disabled bathroom too with an easy access ramp, the site is flat and level, though the gravel may cause a bit of a problem to the not so strong wheelchair user as the gravel is quite coarse.

There is not a play area or anything for children but my five year old loves to stay and we make our own entertainment in the local area.

We have stayed five times now, we stayed only one or two nights on our way to Lands end or St Ives, to break up the journey to start with and now we incorporate it to all our holidays en route and on the way home.

It is a quiet and peaceful site and we feel so clean, compared to staying in some of the many other sites.

There is an orchard next door and apple trees on site. If you walk along the country path nearby there are blackberries to pick from the hedgerow in early Sept.

There is a signposted walk to the centre of Taunton a couple of miles away, there you can find all the usual hight street shops i. E. ;M&S, Primark, Sainsbury's, Kentucky Chicken and lots of pubs with grub, Chinese and pizza takeaways. There is also an Italian and Chinese buffet restaurant.

It is 10 mins from the motorway and it is well worth a visit to this little hidden gem.

We used this site as a 1 night stopover on our way. Down to Devon and can honestly say the site is immaculate.

The wardens were very helpful and friendly. I can't say there is much around if you don't like walking and there is no play area for children. Also the whole site is gravel so no good for kids to play on scooters or bikes either.

Toilets and showers spotlessly clean, pitches well laid out. All in all a nice site if you like tranquillity. There is a footpath into Taunton about a 2 mile walk away, and a shop within walking distance.

This is a small site with less than 50 pitches. Spotlessly clean across the site, with plenty of electric hookups and water points. Low level lighting at night makes it easy to find the facilities when you need them.

There is a bit of noise from the M5 which will put off anyone who wants a totally peaceful spot, but if you live in a town you won't find it intrusive.

It's mostly set up for motor homes and vans, so the facilities are under used, and we hardly ever saw anyone else in the toilet block or washing up area.

Bob and Mary, the wardens, were friendly and helpful, and the on site shop has a good selection of camping spares. Sainsburys is a few miles away into the town.

Coin operated washer and dryer. Book swap and tourist info area.

The only minus we could find is that in some of the tent pitches, the hookup points are positioned such that you need to keep an eye out for trailing leads.

There are no children's facilities, but if you're OK with that, it's a really good site.

Well laid out site with plenty of room between pitches. The facilities block was warm and clean with plenty of hot water. 2 showers each side but no privacy cubicles.

On the outskirts of Taunton but there is a good traffic-free cycle/walking route into town. Also easy to cycle out into the country.

It is very close to the M5 so there is almost constant motorway noise. You get used to it though and we found we could sleep through it.

Overall this is a well-placed reasonably priced site for visiting Taunton and the surrounding area.
