We spent May bank holiday at this lovely, peaceful site. The views are spectacular, and the site feels very rural and secluded. Our pitch was hard standing and well drained and we felt we had plenty of space. However, it did slope and even with a brick under the front legs and levelling chocks we were still a bit nose down all weekend.
There are two washrooms for women and two for men, each contains a toilet, sink and shower. They were kept spotless all weekend although the site was busy. The only drawback to this set up is that there were no toilets available at busy times - a couple of separate loos would make a big difference.
There's no playground - but the children all played together on the grass with footballs and cricket. The owners also let our daughter in to watch the cows being milked, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
We spent a day at Sudbury Museum of Childhood, which was fab. We also took a picnic to the lovely local park in Draycott in the Clay, next to the Swan pub - it appeared to be a popular thing to do on a sunny bank holiday and both our children happily spent a good couple of hours there playing on the zip wire and climbing frame.
The owners weren't around when we arrived and we paid using the honesty box. It would have been helpful if there was a site map showing us where the grey waste and CDP was. There is a long farm drive from the main road and I'm not too sure what we'd have done if we'd met another caravan half way along. Would definitely go back to this site to go to Alton Towers next year - but will send a runner along that drive to make sure we don't have that problem!

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Forestside Farm. The site is very easy to access and we had no trouble turning round in the farmyard before going to the pitch. We were allowed to choose one of three available pitches, although they did advise that there was one to avoid, as it was quite damp due to the recent downpours. The pitch had fantastic views of the countryside and the site was quiet and peaceful. The hardstanding was big enough for the Caravan and also to park a 4x4 on, with a lawned area to the side. Water was available from a hose on the electric hook up so no long walks with the aqua roll were needed.
The toilet block was exceptionally clean and the kitchen area was very well equipped, a fridge, chest freezer, microwave and toaster were all available. 3 folders made up by the owners provided us with lots of choice of where to wine and dine, as well as activities we could consider and places to visit. A take away from The Barn Indian Restaurant was delivered without quibble to the site and can be strongly recommended.
A circular walk surrounds the site and was extremely easy to follow, other walk maps were available in the kitchen area. This site is handy for many towns, we went to Lichfield and Uttoxeter over the weekend.
Mobile signal was good, however make sure you take an aerial for the tv as there was no way Sky would pick up a signal due to Marchington Cliff being behind the pitch. We will definitely be returning to this lovely site.

Just returned from lovely 2 day break to Forestside Farm. Very reasonable rates for a well maintained site
The paddock where we stayed had wonderful views of surrounding countryside. The cows in the next field were a
Little vocal but that didn't spoil our enjoyment.
Our main reason for staying here was for a visit to Alton Towers, and this was certainly a perfect location for that. It was an easy drive to the Towers. I just wish we had more time to enjoy the site.
The showers/toilets were clean and modern. Our only criticism was the lack of separate toilet to the showers, which led to some queuing. Also the 4 shower rooms could just be unisex, rather than 2 male/2 female.
We didn't try any of the local amenities.
I would certainly like to return to this site, if we were to come this way again.

Stayed here for five nights and enjoyed it.
The site is small and well maintained. The toilet/shower block is very good and clean with use of fridge sink etc.
The road leading to was in poor condition and don't know what we would have done if someone was coming the other was.
The site is a working dairy farm however this never disturb or bothered us, in fact it was nice to get up close to the animals.
The pitches all seemed to slope to some degree, we unknowingly pitched in the wrong location when we got there as nobody was on site but was told any pitch was fine over the phone. Only to be told later in the day where we pitched was reserved for a group coming the following day. Lady wasn't rude about it but we did feel a bit uncomfortable so moved on to another pitch.
The view from the hardstanding pitch is very nice.
If you want a small site that's nice and peaceful but with things to do that require a drive, this is ideal.

I love this site. It is great for local attractions, such as Alton Towers.
When we got there, there was a little pack of envelopes etc to pay for the pitch because the farmer was out. This was a nice idea, and makes it less regimented like other sites I've been to in the past, with one way systems etc, camping is for fun after all!
The toilet blocks were great. Showers good toilets etc clean.
My favourite thing was the free use of a fridge, freezer and electric in the wash up/kitchen area. It meant we didn't need to use a trailer to take all the extras! Great for a weekend get away.
Not a lot for the kids, but I knew this upon booking and my kids enjoy camping so don't need a commercialised site to keep them happy. The only thing that worried me was the electric fencing for the cows in the bottom field, but we just pitched on the top field to avoid this becoming a problem

We stayed in a camping pod here for a couple of days at the start of April. We had been due to camp in a tent but we chickened out at the last minute due to a poor weather forecast, and luckily a pod was available.
There are two pods which are the family size ones - we just managed to wedge one double and two single airbeds across the width of the pod, which left room for bags etc at the door end of the pod.
Outside the pods have a small veranda with a wooden storage box (good for cool box, stove, beer etc) and a picnic bench nearby. Our pod was the one you can see on the photos on the website, and I think it is the better located of the two, as it faces out away from the rest of the campsite and you have uninterrupted views across the countryside.
There are also 5 hardstandings, and about a dozen tent pitches, some of which have EHU. The facilities are good for the size of site - 4 shower rooms and a well equipped kitchen including kettles, microwave, fridge, freezer and toaster. We didn't need to use the fridge however as it was so cold we just left milk etc outside!
All the facilities were well looked after and kept clean. The farmer and his wife were very friendly and helpful, and the farmer was happy for us to go and watch the cows being milked one afternoon which our children found very interesting.
We visited Sudbury museum of childhood which the kids enjoyed, especially going up the chimney like a Victorian chimney sweep! It was very busy though due to it being half term.
We had a good breakfast at the café on the industrial estate (details in the campsite kitchen) not exactly a picturesque setting but good food! We also ate at the Barn Indian Restaurant which was also very good, although not cheap.
Some previous reviews mentioned the electric fence, but I think this issue has been resolved as the lower camping field appeared to have a new wooden fence around it.
We'd like to visit this site again in better weather as I feel we didn't see it in it's best light (we had high winds followed by sleet and snow one night!).
The site has panoramic views across the countryside, but the price for this is it's quite exposed to the elements, but in good weather it must be lovely.
