We had a short stay here over the weekend of 17th - 19th August as everywhere we usually stay was booked up.

It's a Basic site that has a shower block (which we didn't use, so I can't comment on them) and toilet block. The toilet block (mens and women's) were very basic, no hot water, no toilet roll in the toilets.

One good thing is that there is a tap with drinking water available. Another thing we had a problem with is that we couldn't park the car next to the tent.

On a good note the price was excellent, £10 per tent per night. Everyone is also allowed to have a fire along as its off the ground. Bins are also provided so you can have the fires without needing to bring your own equipment.

There is also a Forest at the other end of the field where you are able to collect your own wood for the fire. Or you can buy the wood from a van on the site.

Overall I would give this site 7 out of 10 and I would visit again. If you go don't expect the ritz but it's definitely value for money.

Well afer having a really challenging week in the rat race we ended up at rough hey wood pitching a tent for our daughter & friends & won a night in the tipees - absoloutely awesome night - all mod cons with heating ( yes still needed in July) & cooking facilities,

The wardens were ace really friendly & informative. In fact my husband is now looking for a warden post!

My daughter has camped at rough hey wood many times & I now understand why. 13 miles from bradford & away from it all.

We have just returned from an overnight stay with our three children and dog and enjoyed the evening sat round our camp fire and noise level wasn't bad apart from one group opposite us which the warden did tell to keep it down.

The site itself is nice but the facilities let it down they are the worst I have ever seen and because of this won't be returning. There was two ladies toilets and two gents which were full of cobwebs and spiders, they weren't very clean overall dingy the shower block has two sinks in two rooms both which are poor to say the least, the showers were filthy also wouldn't use them

Stayed here a few times with my girlfriend.

Found the campsite very good. You can have a campfire here, the owners provide free washing machine drums and the firewood can be taken from the local woods. They also sell logs at the camp site.

Nice surroundings, surrounded by woodlands and a river. There's toilet blocks.

If you're expecting silence by 10pm maybe this isn't the place for you but if you're easy going like myself you'll be fine. The owners are very friendly. Will keep coming back here.

Had a lovely sunny weekend at Rough Hey. Loved the unspoilt feel of the camp site, everyone doing their own thing, the friendly camp warden walks around at night just to remind campers that all music has to be turned off at 11-30 which is acceptable, but you can still remain around your camp fire for however long you wish.

Shower block could do with a bit more cleaning through out the duration of ones stay, and toilets very basic but we are in the middle of the woods! Visited the picturesque Hebden Bridge.

The only big drawback to this site is a very long walk with your heavy tent, clothes, food, cooking equipment, chairs, table etc. We did think that access should have been allowed for off loading & reloading purposes only! Not all people are as able bodied as others.

Hi all, we came for a 3 night break as first timer's in our Zrnobia 6, 2 adults, 9 yearold, 11 month old n the dog. Found the sit very quiet and friendly, Wardens and owners the same.

However we only stayed one night as it became extremely cold in the night to the point we all had to huddle in one bedroom together (nose freezing and could see own breath), probably due to the location (right at the bottom of the Calderdale Valley).

Not much for our daughter to do, we went for a little walk round Sowerby Bridge taking in the locks on the canal. Had a very lovely afternoon but had to get there by car as it is over 2 miles from the site.

Other than that if your looking for a quiet break with serene little walks then go ahead and book, but if you look for more then I wouldn't recommend it.
