This is now the closest campsite to Lerwick. It has about 4 hook ups and can accommodate some tents. The facilities are just about ok but for £10 per night you sort of get what you pay for! Did not really see the owners. Views are good of course. The hotel does not seem to serve food but it has a bar. We chose not to use the bar but seemed ok. The site is a bit tight and you park in the car park with other visitors perhaps parking a little too close for comfort.
Located at the Westing Inn about10 miles north of Lerwick, The main road to the site is quite steep but it does give you one on the best views over southern Shetland. The site consists of a small grass area next to the pub and facilities are in the Inn and are kept spotless. The pub food is good and real ale is on tap served by friendly staff. The pub is a bit isolated being about a mile from the nearest shop etc. And the site is not really in the most interesting area for visitor attractions. Incidentally if your a wild camper the water/disposal points are not accessible for the casual visitor.
