Although we had only planned to stay for one night on our journey home from Spain, we decided to stay an extra night as the site was so nice. We arrived late in the day and without booking but were made welcome and even offered a cup of tea and the use of a floodlight as we struggled to put up the tent in increasing darkness!
We were the only visitors and our dog loved the freedom he had in the large open space. Even if fully booked there would have been loads of space. Spotlessly clean facilities and relaxing environment.
Easy access to lovely local towns (Poiters was great)with shops restaurants. I would highly recommend this site to anyone who wants to enjoy peace and quiet in the countryside. We will definitely use this again.

This is a lovely, peaceful little campsite in the tiny rural hamlet of Tassay, yet the N10 and nearest village, Chaunay, are within easy reach being only 5 - 10 minutes away by car. The village supplies basic daily provisions (including English newspapers!). There are larger supermarkets a little further afield.
The site is a spacious, level field surrounded by mature trees, providing shelter and shade for up to 8 - 10 units. Around the field are several electric points and two water taps. We were invited to pitch our tent wherever we liked as there are no designated pitches which added to the informal, relaxed atmosphere we sensed on arrival. Although there was only one other tent and a caravan on the site for part of our 10 night stay we felt that had there been the maximum number it would still have felt spacious.
The lovely, new “facilities” block was kept spotlessly clean and in addition to the 2 toilets and shower room there are washing up facilities (plenty of hot water) and a washing machine.
Having a 13 year old with us we found it ideal, we could safely play ball games or simply relax on site but also found it a wonderful base for visiting the numerous attractions and interesting places in the region and it was a pleasure to sit outside in the evening and hear owls and crickets and no drumming noise of traffic.
Maurice and Sue made us very welcome and provided us with a lot of helpful information about the area.
We wish them every success with this new venture and we are hoping to return next year.
