We stayed here for a couple of nights over the Easter weekend. Tim and his dogs were very friendly and welcoming. He places our three tents together next to a large field full of cows. You are allowed a fire pit, which was welcome as the April evenings are a little chilly. He put on a barrel ride for the children and showed us around the milking sheds, we even helped bring the cows out to graze. The showers are basic but clean and roomy. This is a lovely campsite with fantastic views and friendly hosts. We will definitely go back again.

Had three brilliant nights staying over the Easter period. Both Tim and Karen most welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

Showers were clean with plenty of hot water. Fresh produce available to purchase, fresh eggs, sausages and the bacon is the best.

Highly recommended 🙂

We were looking for a small quiet and friendly campsite to take our little dog to. I phoned Tim 'the owner' to see if he had a pitch, he wasn't open, but said we could go anyway. On arrival we had a friendly welcome from Tim whom was rolling the area. We were shown the pitches and selected one. There were 3 dogs, our little dog soon made friends with them, especially Digger, a Patterdale Puppy. The site is clean and tidy, the wash rooms/toilets are clean but a bit on the chilly side, hey its camping! There are nice views and plenty of birds to waken to in the am. There are gardens and National Trust Homes aplenty on your doorstep '30 minute drive away' and the Fishermens' Pub and Restaurant is a 5 minute drive away.

We will be returning during the summer months and taking our grandchildren.

What a gem of a site in a beautiful location. We stayed 4 nights and came away completely relaxed and chilled having enjoyed the atmosphere and facilities this 'working farm' has to offer. Whether you are camping or caravanning the washing up, toilet and shower blocks are clean and functional and provide exactly what one could want.

Children are well catered for and the play facilities are fun and allow a freedom alien to many in this day and age. With superb fishing, walks, pubs and shopping a short drive away and above all superb hosts, with a passion for what they do. You could not have a better site to take a break, enjoy.

Remember this is a working farm and must be respected as such.

We can't say enough good things about Nicholson Farm. We stayed on bank holiday weekend and forgot to book an electric hook up but Tim and Karen still managed to accommodate us in a separate area with electric via the greenhouse. The site was extremely well-maintained, the toilet and shower block were clean and perfectly adequate, the views were outstanding, Tim and Karen were wonderful hosts offering tours of the dairy farm and barrel train rides for the kids as well as cooked full English breakfasts each morning for a small fee - delicious and convenient for groggy campers first thing in the morning! The kids were safe to go on bike rides around the immediate area surrounding the campsite, there were some lovely walks in easy reach and an abundance of wildlife to see including the farm animals - our kids loved the goat and the chickens as well as Tim and Karen's dogs! All in all a memorable and truly relaxing stay. We will go back again.

A return visit to this lovely little site for us. We found it clean and uncrowded just as we like it. There are plenty of things to do including Barrel train rides for the kids, very informative farm tours and plenty of walks. Tim & Karen were most helpful and friendly. The farm dogs were lovely and the site was kept clean. Beautiful views to wake up to and all the sights and sounds of the countryside made our stay delightful. We will be back again.
